The Alley

Actually sat in the “Between Bar” where you can eat from either the Alley or the Deep Water Grill. I ended up ordering off the Deep Water menu. It was delicious. Sat at the bar and found the bartenders very personal and helpful with beer and food choices.

Really cool place. Like 3 bars 2 restaurants 1 owner. Different menus. Was told by a local store owner to order the Fish Tacos. Very delicious. White fish was not at all fishy tasting was lightly breaded and deep fried with a tasty cold slaw and a fresh sauce. Only thing would have like a few reg sized pieces of lime, I had a bunch of bar cut limes worked out though just messier. But for sure needed the lime, I would reorder. You got 3 for $14. The bar tender was super efficient, kind with all of her guests. It was a busy Friday mid afternoon.

We came in from Arkansas to our niece's graduation and was so glad to find this bar. It happened to be on a Thursday which was an all you can eat buffet night and everything was good. We had great customer service from Tina (the best bartender ever) and Christopher. The atmosphere was nice as well. Definitely recommend!

Great wings and an overall great atmosphere. This place is connected to the brewery. Also, it has a neat rooftop patio.

Very good food and service at this establishment. The waitress did a great job with a very busy room keeping everyone happy. We were on vacation and normally check out different restaurants, but we chose to go here twice.

Good food and nice place to eat. Friendly service. Also, liked their pizza and kid's menu.

It's pricey, but the food is great. Restaurants can't go wrong with beer cheese soup, but the Alley kicks it up several notches with brown ale. The whitefish is superb.

Great food. Really great atmosphere. Beautiful bar. Ate at the brewery restaurant next door. This bar is in the middle of 2 resturaunts and you can order off both menus. Definitely worth a stop.

Love coming here when I'm in Ashland. The creole whitefish and shrimp is very good. The rice that comes with it is not spectacular but the fish shrimp and asparagus are awesome!

It's a cool atmosphere! There are multiple rooms and bars. The white fish sandwich was pretty big (2 large fillets) and the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese awesome! If you like BBQ chips you must try to BBQ seasoned waffle fries. I wish I took a picture before we stuffed our faces 🍴

Delicious food in just the right proportions. Service was terrific. Family-friendly atmosphere. The booths are roomy and comfortable and separated by - I guess it's plexiglass. Love this restaurant!

My goodness, great food amazing service! The Greek freak is the best salad I’ve ever had. The bartender was totally slammed but efficient and incredibly friendly. Wish I remembered his name to give him a shout out. Highly recommend eating here.

Without a doubt the best food both my boyfriend and I have ever had. We went on Valentine’s Day without a reservation, they were extremely busy but the hostess made us feel very welcomed and had us seated in no time.

The next day we placed a delivery order and the food was delivered within a half hour and was amazing as well. (They did forget to provide utensils but the quality of the food made up for this in full)

Very fresh ingredients with hardly any grease. I’ll be making the couple hour drive to eat here again!

Excellent food and huge portions! I got the whitefish sandwich which had a local butcher’s bacon and the breading has a nice kick. My boyfriend got the buffalo Mac and cheese which was also delicious. Sit at the South Shore Brewery bar and you can order off of either the Deep Water Grille or The Alley menu!

We had great appetizers and Margarita's! The food was perfect. The wait staff is awesome...we are local and gave a few tables ideas on what to order. They loved the food. Our waitress Aubree...is wonder...very friendly and attentive!

It was a nice little restaurant to stop on the drive back into MN Northshore....Had great service and good food

I highly recommend the grilled chicken sandwich and cream of chicken wild rice soup. It seemed like a busy night but we received our food quickly. Our waiter was busy yet very attentive and timely with ordering, checking in during our meal, and when it was time for the check.

The food was so delicious, and I loved the addition of fruit! I couldn’t believe the size of the burger on the kids meal, my son loved it!!

We walked down to The Alley from our hotel on our stop in Ashland on a motorcycle trip. We sat at the bar for dinner and the bartenders were both FABULOUS. (Thank you again for the pronunciation lesson on Chequamegon!) We had the artichoke dip appetizer and it was DELICIOUS. And it included both naan bread and fresh veggies, which was really nice. The jalapeño popper mac and cheese and the whitefish sandwich were our entrees, and both were great. And were both great the next morning when the leftovers became our breakfast! :) We'd be back here in a heartbeat if we pass through Ashland again!

This was honestly the best Restaurant I've been too, I spilled my drink and they were so kind towards me! Best fries in the world!! Excellent service! Kind staff!
