I participated in a concert series here tonight. It was wonderful. We had an attentive audience that was inquisitive and caring. The series promotes the creation of art, so I thought I'd share a poem to capture the essence of what this place inspired within me today.

The darkness is calling
Death whispers in the night
The danger is sprawling
No haven from fright

Friend hark! Take heed!
Join us in the warm
For this is your need
Protection from the storm

Shy away not from love
Open the door to you heart
Find the peace of a dove
Within the shelter of art

Altogether it is a very friendly establishment in the community of downtown Aliquippa, where people can enjoy a little lunch or spoken word or just pure fellowship with friends and family.

This place is a diamond in the rough, but there's nothing rough hewn about the friendly welcome. The moment you walk in the door, you feel like you've just put on rose colored glasses. I was there tonight for a private family event. The food and drinks were quite refreshing, there were cool paintings on the walls made by the owner, a very lovely outdoor area for gathering and celebrating, and a whole lot of beautiful smiles. You can feel the hope and determination in there, and not just to serve a great lunch. It's certainly worth a trip if you want to find good food, good company, and good mojo.

I live quite a ways away, but finally got to Uncommon Grounds this past weekend. I will definitely be back ... especially in the warmer weather to enjoy their fab outdoor seating. Great atmosphere, great food, and really friendly folks.

We held our Memorial at Uncommon Grounds. I love this cafe. It has a library upstairs. The artwork is fantastic and its artists are local. The jewelry is handcrafted. The owners, Herb and his wife go out of their way, for EVERYONE. Also, they're friends of mine. And, they're friends to everyone else. Please, stop in for a cup of great coffee or a sandwich. They run on donations and it doesn't matter who you are, everyone is welcome to join the fun at Uncommon Grounds!! One Love!

Christian coffee house. Recovery meetings upstairs. If you can't afford a $1, you can get a free coffee. If you have an extra $1, put it in the jar or give it to a charity. It's a true coffee house. Couches, tables and chairs that supports the poor, the Recovering and the Christian mission. Get their schedule. Go to Bible study. Find yourself immersed in a warm conversation with new friends. It's a public hang out and a place to find new, healthy friends. Great food. Awesome coffee.

Uncommon Grounds had their first Monthly Saturday Veterans Breakfast Club like they do monthly. Free for Veterans $5.00 for nonvets. Eggs, hash browns, sausage, pancakes and coffee buffet. Cooked fresh as soon as a tray is empty. Today congressman Conner Lamb visited, talked to everyone and let people ask questions in a forum. Good food, company and visit. Started at 9:00 and l stayed until noon. Still serving when I left.

Uncommon Grounds cafe is my favorite cafe in the world. I've been to many places and this may be the most memorable place. The community here is what makes it special. God's blessed this cafe

There is something about walking through the doors of Uncommon Grounds Café that you will not find anywhere else- a unique and uncommon Café experience with more than great coffee and awesome paninis. Friendly staff welcome you to feel at home, local artists' work line the walls, and the food is always prepared with care and attention. Open Mic night on Thursday evenings fills the air with original music, poetry, and spoken word, and the milkshakes! Highly recommend a visit!
