Candela Tapas Lounge

A great spot to catch a small bite! We actually stopped In shortly after 3p to grab something small to hold us till dinner.
Delicious tapas plates best shared with friends. We had the empanada (pictured) which was great. The flavors of the empanada and of the sauce made you want more. We also tried the Chori sliders, 2 bundles of goodness. Again, really good flavors working in this dish. Finally we had the mahi-mahi fish tacos, De Pescado. The fish was fresh and cooked well. Slight crunch on the outside but cooked all the way through. After the first dish, I failed at taking photos as my party tore into the succeeding plates after the empanadas.
What was clear is that the dishes were so scrumptious, we wanted more.

Great food, friendly service, and top-notch margheritas. My friends and I tried the pulled pork tacos and one of the seafood mains. We were celebrating an academic success in our group. We were all international, which was treated positively by the staff here. Their taste in music, as well their judgement of the right volume to play it at, was very much to my liking -- lots of classic songs played at a perfectly ambient loudness.
It's not a budget place, so if you're a student like me, don't go here thinking to fill your stomach. It's about the quality and ambience. I'd only go here to celebrate, and probably eat a sandwich at home beforehand.

I don't normally write any reviews, but our dining experience here tonight was outstanding! Every single dish we ordered was top notch and the service was amazing. We were excited to order the chicken empanadas as we had looked over the menu earlier that day, however they were all out so our server suggested the brussel sprouts. Thank goodness for that because they were the best roasted brussel sprouts we've ever had! Would 100% recommend this tapas lounge to anyone visiting the area, it is the best food you'll find in Hanover/Lebanon!

This is one of the best places to eat in the Upper Valley. Every dish was mouth watering good, and the service was impeccable and FAST! Our server Sophie was super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience delightful. Will be coming back every chance I get.

Great tapas restaurant. We were in Hanover, NH for one night and made reservation at Candela’s based on positive online reviews we read. We had a great experience with excellent and delicious food and really good wine. Jimmy host/owner and Zoe our waitress treated us like family. The ropa vieja, fish tacos, shrimp in garlic sauce and rest of the small dishes we sampled were excellent. Zoe was very knowledgeable and helpful on wine selections and pairing with our dishes. Can’t wait to go there again in the near future!

Delicious up-scale food in a relaxed, undecorated environment. Incredibly friendly and skilled waitstaff with the right amount of attentiveness. Great for dates and fun eating with friends. Recommend the brussels sprouts, chori sliders, shrimp, and churro's.

Love the food. Yes, it's on the pricey side. Like everything in Hanover. Wish they would add some better lighting, the ambience would be great if they did - some cool hanging lights would make the place pop. But the food is yummy and I like the little plates and the community spirit of sharing and trying new dishes. I think it's some of the best food in Hanover. Eating outside in the little patio area is lovely in season.

Unbelievably delicious. I've never had a dish I didn't find tasty, and two or three who's equal I've never found. The albondigas is a must have, and the pork belly may be the best composed dish I've ever eaten. The owner is amazing, friendly and helpful, and the staff are always great. You MUST go to Candelas, best food in the area.

I have lived in the Upper Valley my whole life but never made it to Candela Tapas Lounge until tonight. Absolutely fantastic! Delicious food and wonderful staff, I can’t wait to go again. The homemade churros melt in your mouth and we absolutely loved the Brussel Sprouts and Chicken Ropa Vieja tacos. We are excited to try even more of their tasty plates at our next visit, which hopefully will be soon.

The food is always delicious, and the menu often changes so you can sample new, tasty dishes. The staff are helpful, and the owner is friendly. This is my favorite place to go for a nice night out with friends or a romantic date.

This place was freakin delicious. Waiter was awesome and positive, food was great, and prices weren't absurd (still expensive, but not crazy). A tiny bit loud, but still very enjoyable. I wouldn't reccommend, however, for picky eaters as many items had adventurous options.

The food was amazing. The churros are so good (pro tip: get the caramel dip instead of the spicy chocolate). The crispy brussel sprouts are so good; the caramelization is perfect. The wait staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming. A real treat.

I really love the food and service here. Great spot for a date night too. I consider this to be the best restaurant for dinner in Hanover. That being said, be aware that it's also one of the most expensive. Highly recommend!

I visited this restaurant for the fourth (or maybe fifth) time tonight and the service was impeccable as always. The tapas style menu is so fun with large groups! The charcuterie board with all of the fixings is a great stepping stone into the night. Then we shared the Ensalada Candela, Setas Montaditos (2x), Chimichurro, Arroz Mampoateao (2x), and Patas followed by Churros and Plantains for dessert. Everything we ordered had a wide range of flavors and each dish surprised us more than the last. The wine menu here is also phenomenal, and our server had excellent recommendations. We will certainly be back for dinner in the near future!

This place is absolutely amazing! Some of the best authentic Puerto Rican cuisine I've had in years (including in Puerto Rico)! Great drinks, great service, and the food is spot-on everytime!

The food is still fantastic! The staff is fun to work with, and the owner is someone that makes you feel like you are the reason he opened the doors tonight!

Some things don't change, the way this place makes me feel is the same today as it was 10 years ago!

Outstanding food! Our group shared a variety of tapas and there was something for everyone. The fish tacos were heavenly - some of the best I have ever had!

Jimmy does a fantastic job delivering a menu that's refreshingly unlike the same same of Main Street. Candela delivers tapas, rum drinks, the best wine selection in Hanover, with tables in and out. Get there!

Didn’t expect a lot from a college town like Dartmouth so this one was surprisingly good
