New Hope Community Church

I was raised Catholic and eventually found myself adrift in just this incredibly huge patch of Rumspringa. Brought a brother to his knees. I picked up the Bible with fresh eyes, devoting 4 diligent years. I took it all in, measuring it up to the Catholic teaching of my youth that there was no salvation outside the Catholic church. That’s a pretty big brainwash right there. I remember thinking at 8 years old, “Well, what are we doing in here [church building]."
All that for a point: New Hope gets this right. The book of Acts is what I read the church is to look like, and the book of Acts is what is seen in New Hope—1st civilian church I attended after Catholicism. All by accident-ish.
The practical experience: We get out of the church. In the name and spirit of Jesus, we go out into the community, hand out food, pray for folks, organize events for youth, pick up trash in the neighborhood. We engage. Build relationships. Push back darkness. Advance the Kingdom of God. We have a men's home and just opened up a women's crisis pregnancy home. And we’re a small church. It’s impressive to see God’s Word and hand at work. It awe. I got lucky.
We’re normal folks. Many of us struggled with drug and alcohol addictions. Incarcerations. We’ve been liberated, and we’re grateful.
I don’t know if all of this will post, but I felt like running w/it a little bit—my breathy 2 cents.

Went today for the first time, very welcoming, energetic, and a wonderful group of people. The sermon was awesome and keeps your attention and then energy of Jesus is everywhere! My new place to worship.

I live going there. Extremely friendly and helpful. Several people didn't know I was out of the hospital. Had 12 major surgeries in7 months. Been in & out but more in. They volunteered to co.e help me clean and cook meals.

Also with Covid and people have different comfort levels my pastor came up with a system to quietly let people know. Red, yellow and green bracelets. See pic for explanation.

Very friendly and caring. The people are so friendly n helpful.

The new hope church is amazing,everyone is on fire for Jesus,the worship music is also amazing.The first time I went there everyone was talking to me and hugging me and pastor Rick is an awesome preacher with a heart on fire for jesus everyone on the worship team are also awesome.i love Jesus.they have Bible study at 7:00pm in the green room at the old Catholic school house,they hand out food on Tuesdays and Saturdays at

Been going to this church for 14 months the pastor is awesome I also clean there and I have the church looking good for Jesus christ..God is good.
