I have been going to Dr Hein for at least 25 years. He is the best. He actually cares about you. I not only trust him with my life but with my whole family’s lives.

Dr. Hein, Aubrey and the entire staff have always treated me great. Today (w/o going into my personal issues, the short of it is-) Aubrey went that extra mile for me (they always have) to help me with a medication issue. It's nice to have a Dr who listens....and actually hears what you're saying! I really appreciate everyone one there.

Dr Hein is the best around. Needs tons of improvement on the office people side though.

My husband and I stayed with the practice when our PCP left. Any problem or issue we brought up to Dr Hein was dismissed but he always said to “call with any problems” with his hand on the doorknob as he was leaving. My husband had serious help issues he never addressed. Problems that if handled properly wouldn’t have resulted in hospitalizations. The last post hospital visit lasted less than 5 minutes. I timed him!! Wonder how long he billed the visit.

Decided to go back to Dr. Hein after leaving because he did not believe in Fibromyalgia. Though I got diagnosed from Cleveland Clinic. Was just looking for a PCP who would care for incidental things. When I made my appointment they said I couldn’t get in with him till November. I had bruising on my stomach. But they offered an appointment with the PA. That was fine. Then a week later my husband took me to HV Convenient Care. Where I was told I had Lyme’s disease and was given an antibiotic ! I was supposed to have gotten a 14 day supply of antibiotics but they told me to call my PCP. So I called Dr. Hein’s office told them about the antibiotics and still not feeling well. They said to call CC! CC asked me my symptoms and when I told them they said I needed to go to the ER to rule out a stroke. But would call in another script since they told me 14 days. Went to the ER I had Bell’s Paulsie! ER doctor put me on ANOTHER 7 day antibiotics. A total of 21 days and follow up with my PCP. On the day I was scheduled while on my way to the office I realized my appointment was at 10:45 a.m.. I thought it was 2:45! I immediately panicked and called the office the girl who answered became very cold as I explained what happened! Put me on hold and when she came back told me as per Dr. Hein’s request we are not allowed to reschedule you! It was like someone took the life right out of me! I was stunned!! They even cancelled my November appointment! And am still having issues from Lyme’s!! In ALL my years of having to use HVHS I was NEVER a no show!! I ALWAYS arrived early!! An honest error on my part and they are going to leave me dangling!! I don’t get it! And the worst part is I am POA for my mom and this is her doctor!!

I used to love Dr. Hein. However, he not only let me down, he let my mom down. He was stripped of his privileges per another psychiatrist I saw. Unless it’s a routine visit, stay away from him.

I've seen Dr Hein since Dr Cristo left the practice. Over the years the office has gotten so many patients that they are overwhelmed. I have a hard time getting a timely appointment, have been put on hold for an hour then hung up on because it was 15 mins before closing.
I've gone to him with the same complaints and all he does is run bloodwork.
I finally stopped going to Dr Hein because his lack of information that he sent to Short Term Disability. When I asked why he didn't release me to go back to work the day after he received the test results, she stated "well probably because we have 6000 patients" Then the refusal of my own medical records were denied to me. Because of this refusal I lost my job.
I will never go back to Dr Hein. He and his staff do not care about their patients.
Advice for anyone thinking of going to him.... Don't!!

I would truthfully give 0 stars if I could, but going with 1 star since it's minimum. I stopped going to Dr. Hein when my mom was misdiagnosed who commented below (Tammy Deak). She trusted her doctor and somehow the lack of gameplan from his office didn't bother her at first so she continued allowing him to be in charge of her care. For months she continued to depend on someone who didn't even give her the time of day to investigate and get the proper tests ordered. She was diagnosed with Stage 3C ovarian cancer by an ER doctor after they gave her a CT and MRI to really get to the root of the issue. Something Dr. Hein's office could have easily written a script for MONTHS prior when she first went to his office with classic symptoms. No one should ever find out about a cancer diagnosis in an ER when she has been explaining to her PCP's office her symptoms repeatedly for months.

Not every doctor is familiar with every disease or symptom so I would not expect him to hear her and automatically know. I do however expect a doctor to take every patient seriously and try to help them find a cause.

P.S due to the late diagnosis she passed away. I personally share this experience with everyone I know that values their health and the health of their families. If he had ordered the proper tests this could have been caught a year sooner, might not have guaranteed my mom not passing away but treatment plans could have been established sooner. So I will never know...

Dr. Hein's office failed my mom, my family and I am hoping he doesn't do that to anyone else.

If I could give this office a minus amount of stars, I would. The Office manager is extremely disrespectful and treats veterans and their families like 2nd class citizens. A family member had to be seen and they stated he would have to find another Dr. because he had missed 2 appts in the past. Note we have been patients there for several years (only because we had an awesome US veteran Physicians Assistant who they ran out of there as well). The office manager stated they would refuse to treat him due to the missed appt. When I asked her to please put that in writing, she refused and said, I will not do that." When I asked if it was their policy to mistreat Veteran families, she stated I should be ashamed that I am a Veteran and that I would speak to here in my tone. She then stated that she no longer would speak to me and hung up the phone on me. Might I add that in the years we were there, I can only recall seeing Dr. Hein once. Its a sad day when medical facilities and Dr's stop caring and show disrespect to Veterans seeking medical help. If Dr's actually remembered the oaths they had taken, this world would surely be a better and healthier place. My advice is to find another medical facility...perhaps one who cares about their patients.

Went to doctors office, same complaint for months. Went to his office saw PA (he was in office) and it was very evident the swelling was obvious ascites. The PA never had Dr. Hein step in to see me when she stated she was unsure about the swelling instead she sent me home with bloodwork and a US for kidneys/bladder. The next day I could hardly walk and went to ER. ER doctor instead did a abdominal US and I had a 18cm ovarian cancer. Ten days later surgery found 2 grapefruit size tumors and removal of 10 liters of fluid. Two things, she didn't know ok, have the doctor step in or two send me to the ER for evaluation. Also, when surgery was determined a minor issue had this doctor decline the necessary surgery initially. Instead of contacting me about so important - had the receptionist tell me!!! Someone who had no medical knowledge to explain the why declining the ok for the necessary procedure. This office compounded the issues with numerous wrong decisions. Ovarian cancer is real and I presented for MONTHS every classic symptom. This is not a negative post for any reason except it is to make others aware this doctor misdiagnosed due to not being aware or educated either way are you ok with that.
