Bollman Hat Company Factory Store

When I pulled up the building wasn't that big, but when I walked in it was like WOW !!!! I was looking for a fedora. The young lady running the place was exceptional. She was very helpful and hospitable. Prices range from very reasonable to expensive. The selection was fantastic.

I have been meaning to get to Bollman's outlet for a while now and I finally made the trek. And it's well worth it! The building itself isn't that large. A simple cinder-block building, about 40' wide by 20' deep.

It does get terrific daylight (useful when you want to judge the true color of a hat without needing to walk outside with it), and there are mirrors all around to take a look at yourself.

Remember that it *is* an outlet, so while the prices are dramatically better than a traditional hat store, you will have some frustration in that you will pick up the wrong size hat a number of times until you find that style in your size, -or- maybe you *won't*! (remember, this is an outlet!)

The clerk offered some advice when I asked for her opinion, which was appreciated. For instance, two of the three Bailey of Hollywood Polypropylene hats I purchased for Summer came in my size in either a Trilby or Pork Pie, but we both agreed that I looked better in the Trilby.

Not all of the hats were synthetic, I don't want to give you that impression -- there were plenty of felt fedoras, wool hats with or without ear flaps for winter, tweed and wool flat caps, straw Panama and cowboy hats, etc., etc. Not too many hats for women, but as the clerk explained, their inventory across the board changes a few time per month to a few times per week.

Hat prices are quite reasonable; most are outlet-priced at $25-49, with the possible exception of the ones behind the clerk by the register. Winter beanies with pom-poms were between $15-18.

If you are serious about your hats, plan to spend a few *HOURS* poking around. Best bet is to bring a list of what you already have, so you know where you have holes in your collection. Or take photos of them on your phone beforehand.

If you want to get in a meal before or after you shop, I suggest Shady Maple Smorgasbord or Pancake Farm (it's a diner), both are about 10 miles/15 minutes away.

Bollman Hat Factory Outlet is also just 6 miles, 12 minutes from The Green Dragon (a famous indoor/outdoor flea market) -- but remember that the Green Dragon is *only* open on Fridays.

Wow, it's quite overwhelming when you walk in the door, but they have a very good selection of all varieties of hats.

If you like hats this is your place!! Give yourself at least 20 minutes to peruse as they have everything when I visited from berets, bowlers, derby's, beautiful equestrian hats, fedoras and panamas... Like really there's something for everyone

But because they're heavily discounted be prepared to hunt but also LOTS of smalls, a decent amount of mediums and a few XLs but so so so many cute, fabulous, well made wool hats that were gorgeous but small and sadly my gigantic head sits in between a medium and large.

We'll, I do always BUY a hat when I go there. It's local for me and I did want a new winter hat! They currently have Kangol Disney berets and pull ons. Both feature poms at the crown. Good price- $22.50. Warm for the coming cold! I saw a Steve Madden scarf on Macy's website that I believe would look nice with it. It too is camo but in wine.

Great spot for hats. Very wide selection of men's and women's hats. They manufacture hats for a number of brands so you will find a mixture of different styles including beanies, fedoras, sun hats, etc. Great prices for factory seconds and the flaws are often extremely minor.

I can’t believe how many hats! Pork pie, fedora, trilby, bucket, Jeff, cowboy, beret, straw, felt, etc-there are SO MANY and lots of small-sized hats for my tiny melon. I’m so glad I visited. I tried on hats for an hour and finally got the three that the kind owner helped me pick out.

Unfortunately for me and my big head, largest western style was 7 3/8. I did find a nice outback style. Half price or less on most hats

I love this store! I have found some awesome hats at unbelievable prices! Stetson, Bailey of Hollywood, Kangol, Goorin Bros, Pantropic, Betmar, Helen Kaminski and Bollman Hat Company are just some of the brand names you will find in the store. A true treasure tucked away in small town south central PA. If you love hats, go often!

BRIDESMAID ALERT (03/19/21): fascinators suitable for weddings for $10. Colors are mostly cream, red, navy blue. A few black and white ones. Plus plate-sized black hats.
Kangol caps in large array of fabrics. Straw and felt hats for women and men including high-end designer brands. Call to see if they're having a (random) sale for the best deals. Kangols made in UK. Most of other hats are made on location at the factory.

Wide variety of hats for purchase at decent prices. They now sell previous year stock at discount. I wish they still sold factory seconds as well.

Awesome little shop with so many different styles of cap to choose from. 2 antique stores next door and another just up the road! Great stuff!

This store is a hidden treasure with wonderful customer service. Great hat selection but what you see is what you get when it comes to sizes.

At first glance it's not much to look at, but once your inside it's an amazing store that is if your into hats. The place is loaded with hats and the prices will blow your mind.
