Heritage Park

I go kayaking twice a week when possible. Most of the time I get in at Kelly's lock & get out here for a nice 2+ hr float.

Great little park. Mostly a green space with nice grass, trees, and some picnic tables. Has stairs down to the river as well where you can fish or launch a kayak. Awesome spot for a lunch break or outing with the family. Reading City Church actually cleaned this up a few years ago, and has been maintaining it since. Wonderful community park.

Love this little piece of land. At the start of 2010, it was overgrown, trashed and unsafe. Reading City Church came in a cleaned it, removed tons of wild vegetation, dead trees, and instead planted healthy trees, flowers, put in picnic table, stairs and railing to river and more. RCC continues to keep park beautiful. Now, it's a safe, pretty little haven right across from Canal St Pub.

This is a great park. Lots of grass area for kids to play, picnic tables and you can walk down to the water as well via steps from the park. Located right across from Canal Street Pub as well.

Very nice we did a Baptismal service there. Other than the lack of off street parking it was pleasant.

Beautiful scenery for a nice walk

Went down to Heritage Park to photograph the portion of the old Swinging Bridge that was placed there for display. The Bridge support from long ago is very interesting, but it seems that the City placed it here, cause the Park is located in a out of the way place. Was not impressed with the Park itself at all. The Park is located in a crime infested area. Seems that the Park was forgotten about. Thought that a lot more would be there, but it's not & that's shameful for a City that has so much History in it. Don't think I will go there again anytime soon.
