I am very happy to have finally gone here. It's was a wonderful dining experience. It's small with what I believe to be 6 small tables which is a nice experience. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the appetizer buratta which was delicious but we didn't really have an idea of how to eat it. But we used our hands and got it done. I was able to enjoy the rabbit and my date enjoyed the steak, both were delicious. I enjoyed the house iced tea which was nice. There is no good parking, a couple of off street parking but there is a paid lot down the street, but it is free after 6pm. I was happy to get a reservation for Friday evening on a Wednesday morning. I am looking forward to going back again soon.

TJ Buckley’s is an extraordinary restaurant, and one of the best I’ve been to. The staff is welcoming, and the chef is friendly and funny as well as talented at what he does. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, but still family-friendly. There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan options, and although I’m vegetarian the meat and fish does look good. Gorgeous presentation of food, and you can watch it being made. The salads are topped with flowers and beautiful garnishes and created with local organic produce. The crème brûlée is my favorite dessert I’ve ever had.

This is the best dining experience I've had in ages. First, the chef deserves a Michelin star or two. I've been to Michelin-starred restaurants that don't compare to this one in terms of food. Second, an intimate atmosphere and an open kitchen where you can watch the craftsmanship of the chef make it really unique. The restaurant is worth traveling for.

2023:Still one of my favorite restaurants. Crab cakes and scallops were fabulous.
2019:Consistently excellent! Always a highlight of our trip.
2018: We've been coming here for many years, at least once a year. Never a disppointment!
2017:Outstanding! Crabcake appetizer was full of flavor. Scallops practically melted in my mouth with very tasty sides, rabbit was delicious with crispy skin. Deserts were excellent. Friendly staff. Fun to watch the chef prepare every dish. We come here at least once a year. We will be back again.

Wonderful experience! I've read past reviews and the negative ones don't understand the art of food. This food is made with love!

Amazing dinner on Sunday, 4/25 at TJ Buckley’s. Excellent service, too! What a gem! Very cool remodeled vintage diner, retrofitted to accommodate this fine-dining restaurant with beautiful attention to every detail. Menu for entrees change changes daily and the server listed every dish with exacting care. Hands down, the best dining option in downtown Brattleboro.

Words can't explain how much I enjoyed TJ Buckleys. The food was beyond amazing. Definitely in the top 3 restaurants I've ever eaten at. However, what sets TJ Buckleys apart, in my opinion, is the proximity to the kitchen and the intimate setting. This allows you to see the joy and passion that Chef Michael cooks with, and it is evident when you taste the food and see the incredible attention to detail in every aspect of the meal. Bravo, Chef. Thank you for a first class dining experience.

Delicious food! This place is a really neat gem with a tiny seasonal menu. Definitely make reservations, and be on time. The dishes were all exquisitely prepared, with incredibly fresh ingredients. The creme brulee was absolutely the best ever I have had-- so extremely tender and erupting with flavor.

For myself, I would however have enjoyed just the tiniest bit more simplicity in the dishes. That is to say, I think it would have made better dishes if the chef had stopped one garnish or ingredient earlier, but certainly don't let this discourage you at all from dining here.

Great intimate date night choice. Not really a family dining spot, given the limited menu.

The presentation was picturesque, Michael knows his craft very well. The service was very informative and friendly. This is a 4 star restaurant the building is an old train cart that got converted to a diner. Just a few tables, so a reservation is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed!!

Small, quiet(!!), with exceptionally good food from a smallish selection. I'm not sure but I think it changes with seasons and availability of ingredients. Menu does seem to cover a wide range of tastes, nonetheless. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Atmosphere is not stuffy.

A hidden gem. This place is one of the highest end dining experiences I have had and is far more affordable than other gourmet restaurants.

This is the best restaurant in the Brattleboro area. It's in a diner building but don't let that fool you, its a supurb restaurant. This is the place we go when we attend concerts in Marlboro (about 30 minutes away). The rabbit is terrific.

Update: We've eaten here every July for several years and we've never been disappointed.

2019: Here again for the Marlboro festival. I usually have the rabbit which is always great but this year a family of rabbits is living in my yard so I decided to have the beef instead, it was delicious.

2023: Back for the first time since COVID. Had the duck, it's excellent an different from any duck I've eaten.

There is simply not another restaurant of this caliber in the region. Fresh, local ingredients masterfully handled. Not pretentious, but artfully crafted by those with the utmost respect for food.

Make sure you get reservations, because this haute cuisine mainstay sited in a renovated dinner car has only six tables. An able wine list ensures you won't go home thirsty, and the entrees are selected each night and announced by the friendly waitstaff of one. And every table, of course, has a front row view of the master working in the open kitchen.

Tiny little place The puts out beautiful, tasty food! Reasonably priced for the type and quality of food. A/C can't keep up with the heat of the kitchen on a warm day.
