Book Lovers

I stopped in Brattleboro and had to check out Book Lovers! This is a really sweet used bookstore tucked away in an adorable Vermont town. As a used book collector, I was seriously impressed with the selection. The owner Ian had such a great mix of fiction, non fiction, and more specialized genres. I particularly have to shout out the selection in the new fiction section. There were well-priced, like-new copies of some of the most popular fiction books of the last few years. Can’t wait to come back!

I was only in Brattleboro for a couple hours but try to visit small bookstores everywhere I go, and I’m so glad I made it to Book Lovers! I completely lost track of time browsing in the comfortable and well-curated shop and then had a good chat with Ian at checkout. The shop alone is reason enough to come back to Brattleboro!

This used bookstore has the most well-curated and Eclectic collection of any bookstore I've been in. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about books and is able to recommend books of additional interest to customers. It's a great place just to browse for hours.

Fun, well-curated used books store. All books were of very high quality. The owner knows how collection very, very well, and the clever signs on the shelves kept making me laugh!

My family and I visited Book Lovers while on a short weekend away in Brattleboro and left with a handful of books and a really welcoming interaction with the shop owner! The shop is just slightly tucked back from the road so keep your eye out!
We will definitely be coming back on our next visit.

Book Lovers is unpretentious, well-priced, and full of gems. It has an especially good selection of used books from recent decades, and they’re well-sorted so you can find delightful titles without feeling overwhelmed. It would be a mistake to miss this store while you’re in Brattleboro.

Wonderful Used Book Store!! Ian has a passion for great shape really clean used books. Great wide-ranging collection. Glad we stopped here. A little bit off the beaten path but worth it!

Great little shop with friendly owner and a great selection of used books! Open late on the weekends for casual evening browsing, which is nice.

Book Lovers is exactly the type of store Brattleboro needs, as it’s exactly the type of store I grew up finding in Brattleboro. Ian, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming and will engage you in exactly the kind of conversation you hope to find in a small town bookstore. I popped in looking for something specific, a paperback edition of the complete and uncut The Stand, and wouldn’t you know it, Ian was able to pull that exact copy off of his shelf which turned into a 45 minute conversation about King and what is involved in him creating something “complete and uncut”, leading to a conversation about graphic novels, and the history of comics, and talking about stores from over the years that Brattleboro has lost.

Do yourself a favor, if you’re looking for a book and some engaging conversation with someone who loves the world of books, go to Book Lovers. You won’t regret it.

A must stop for any book lovers in or visiting Brattleboro! A small space but with a wide and interesting selection. I was visiting with my family and most of us found new books and enjoyed browsing. The prices were great, too. We enjoyed talking to the owner, it’s a very welcoming space and it will now be a must-visit any time I’m in VT.

Adorable bookstore with huge amount of books for the space and very nice owner

A great bookstore in downtown Brattleboro. An interesting and eclectic range of titles with some unusual options. I find something nearly every time I visit. The owner is very knowledgeable and invested in a pleasant browsing experience. Something for everyone at this bookstore.

I followed a sun-bleached sign to this alley way bookstore and it did not disappoint! The category labels are delightfully quippy and the store owner is very kind with a great sense of humor. Even the pricing system is thoughtful. This store is a must-stop.

Took a day trip to Brattleboro for some sights and shopping – I stumbled upon Book Lovers! The owner, Ian, was very welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable of both books and events in Brattleboro. I was able to find two yoga books that have been on my list – and they were an exceptionally fair price!

I enjoyed viewing the collection of cat books stacked on the coffee table. There was a stack of dog books as well which was jokingly called “the dog pile” by Ian. Very fun place! Check it out if you are a book lover! Looking forward to coming back again.
