Dave is amazing!
My (now) wife and I hired Panevino to cater our wedding and we couldn't be happier. He helped us so much along the way to prepare for things that we never would have known we needed. With all of his years of experience, talking with him felt more like a wedding planner than just a caterer lol, not to mention the food was amazing on top of it all. We would highly recommend Panevino to anyone in need of catering for their special day.

We had a customer event for about 70 people at Panevino. Normally with a larger crowd who all need to be serviced at one time, it becomes difficult. They did such an extraordinary job from beginning to end. Plenty of people serving us, a private bar and special cheese tray. The drink selections, service and timing of everything was literally perfect! The food was absolutely terrific. We had many incredible comments by our customers. A place to go when you have a need for a larger party. I've been there with just 4 people and had a great experience as well, but when you have larger crowds, I know it can be challenging. Kudos to Dave and his team. Dave really gives a lot of personal attention.,

We had our wedding catered by them and it was above and beyond what I had expected. The food was amazing and delicious, their staff and the owner were more then helpful, setting up, packing up leftovers, having everything flowing with ease. Fed 135 people easily, with tons of extra food for people to bring home. Plus, they made us a peach sangria in a fountain, 10 gallons worth, that was gone within 30 min of the wedding my only complaint is that I didn't bring them more wine to make 20 gallons of it.

Catered our wedding. The food and service was remarkable and everything went smoothly. Would recommend for anyone wanting a caterer for their wedding in the area!! The peach sangria they made disappeared without a trace early on it was so good, and plenty of leftovers to be devoured later!

This place is fantastic. It's a full meal menu meaning that you get a choice of appetizer, main course, and dessert. The price is based on the entree ranging from low $20s to mid $30s. I received a full appetizer rather than the expected small portion, a proper entree, and a high level dessert. My only complaint is that the food was a bit under seasoned but there's salt on the table so no problem. Also I was not drinking but the draft list is small and standard. I did not check the bottle list. Overall a great place to eat and quite unexpected for the area.

We finally tried Panevino. We heard from friends some good things and some not so flattering things as well. We really enjoyed it!! The immediate neighborhood is very clean, safe and well lit. We parked right above the restaurant with out a problem. Upon entering, they were busy, decor was nice, music was cool and our table was waiting. Service very attentive and friendly and helped guide us through the menu. Food was great the Caesar was very good and you could taste the richness from the egg yolks!! Appetizers were hot and flavorful, entrees top notch and artistically presented. Dessert was equally appreciated. Everything was spot on from the china, wine glasses, tableware and linens.
We heard the prices were high but we did not find that at all for the quality of meal served here. Do not be afraid to venture into the city at least this block! We would like to catch a movie across the street at the imax sometime.

My wife and I had dinner with friends on Saturday night. Two of us had the king cut prime rib which was incredible and the thinly sliced potatoes were unbelievably good! My wife had the swordfish and the other dish was the crab cakes. Wonderful! Everything was delicious and Panevino has become our favorite stop for dinner. The 2 chefs - one being Chef Brennan and the other Brian are artisans at their job! Thanks for another great dining experience!

My husband and I had the most enjoyable evening with friends here. The Chef, David, came out and greeted us and specifically asked if anyone had food allergies! Because I do have problems with certain ingredients, he prepared the most scrumptious meal for me! I want to thank Chef Brennan, and his very attentive wait staff, for making my husband and I so comfortable in our choices from the menu. The risotto was perfect, the braised short ribs melted in my mouth and the flourless chocolate cake is to die for! All of the wine pairings for each course was spot on. We will definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant to any of our family and friends who want a very personalized and unique dining experience.

Let me say most of the food was delicious once we got it. Blond ponytail waitress who said she was college science major ruined our whole night. 20 minutes to order drinks, 20 minutes till we got drinks, 20 minutes till we received appetizers and over 30 minutes till we got entrees. We asked for butter and sour cream which never came until we saw her again 15 minutes later when she said a helper was supposed to bring them. We never saw helpers, only other waitresses. Two tables who came in 20 minutes after us, were served and out of there 45 minutes before us. When collecting our plates, she spilled lobster juice in my husband's lap. Then she brought our bill before serving us our desserts. We ordered and sat there another 20 minutes when the 4 of us finally lost it and spoke to the manager who brought our desserts to us immediately. The coup De grace was when blond ponytail waitress got snippy with us at the end. If David Brennan wants to retain his clientelle, he better fire miss snippy blond ponytail waitress. Oh, we were offered a free drink for our troublesome time. We decided we didn't want to spend one minute longer in that place. Worst service of our lives, ever, anywhere. Did the food make up for the horrendous misservice? No way! Too many other good restaurants in Berks. UPDATE: They invited us back last evening and the 4 of us had the most delicious meal. Our server, Shanda, was the best! Timely, personal service which with the delicious food, made our evening very special. Panevinos made up for our horrendous experience with that other waitress! Thank you David Brennan, for more than making things right. We love Panevinos and will return very soon!!!

My husband and I got married in September 2021 and I can confidently say that Dave and the staff at Panevino did everything they could—and more—to make our wedding one of the best days of our lives.

Our wedding was planned during the height of the pandemic and, as such, we ran into our fair share of hiccups. We originally chose Panevino because they offered a fantastic value that had everything we wanted and the use of their restaurant space for our reception. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances related to Covid, their restaurant space became impossible to use. Before reaching out to share the bad news with me, Dave consulted our ceremony venue to see if they could host our reception and secured multiple options for us—at no extra cost. Similarly, due to the same unforeseen circumstances, Panevino was unable to procure alcohol for the event, but Dave worked with us to ensure we purchased the right amount and reimbursed us.

Dave and his Panevino staff were communicative, kind, and invested in our wedding, and he more or less held our hands through the entire process. Our wedding guests raved about the food, the service, and the events of the night for months after. Despite the hiccups and stress of planning a wedding during Covid, our wedding day was flawless, beautiful, and nurtured to perfection by Panevino.

We could not be more grateful.

First off let me say sorry this is so super late as my husband and I just passed our 1 yr wedding anniversary. Special Occasions by Panevino should be the only place you consider catering your event. Dave was phenomenal in helping walk us through every little detail we needed for our day including things I wouldn't have thought to think of myself. My husband and I can't thank him, and his team at the restaurant for helping our wedding at the museum go off without a hitch. I didn't have to worry about a thing once we had a list of what we wanted, a few items delivered to them from us, and they did the rest. From set up the day before to being with us through the entire event, I couldn't have asked for better food and service for us and our guests. Everyone loved it and I highly recommend their business to anyone looking into catering. Thank you so so much Dave and the rest of the team!

On Sunday evening, July 13, I took my husband to Panevino for his birthday. This is a wonderful guy who is happiest eating at home, so it's always a big deal to get him to go to a restaurant. I, in turn, had my own foodservice operation for over 20 years, so I love checking out other places.

From the moment we entered until the time when we left, the entire experience was top-notch. Our server, John, was charming; the food was delicious and presented beautifully; and the price was a bargain by any standard!

Kudos to the husband-and-wife team who are doing such an outstanding job in Reading! You now have two new patrons who will be entering your doors frequently!

My wife and I dined here last week and chose it because of its TripAdvisor rating. When we drove up to the place we almost turned around. The view from the outside and parking lot does not exactly scream fine dining. When we walked in, for the first 5 seconds, we thought we were in a local bar/pub.

My husband and I were at the Valentine’s Dinner last evening and we had a wonderful time. The food and wine was amazing. We will definitely go back!

Delicious food, great service and romantic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
