Amy's Bakery Arts Cafe

After an exhilarating yet exhausting hike on a damp spring morning, there was no greater delight than wandering through the rustic streets of downtown Brattleboro and ducking into this artsy little cafe. I had Italian tomato soup, a delicious slice of French sourdough bread to soak up the soup, and a whimsically sweet snickerdoodle. The soup warms and re-energizes the weary spirit, and the views of the river are quite astounding. If you want a pure example of the essence that makes Brattleboro so captivating and bucolic, come here.

Was not expecting this but it probably one of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had, definitely in the top five for sure. Split the hummus veggie- sourdough bread was perfect, veggies were crisp and fresh and came with a feta garlic spread - the garlic was fresh and added a great spice. So glad we stumbled across this cafe!!

Had the hummus based sandwich. Good flavor. Have a pretty full coffee menu. Seating in the back offers a pleasant view of the nearby mountains. The cafe is filled with pleasant conversation and brightly colored art.

Brilliant. It's a five course dessert in a slice, appealing to every sense. My wife and I split this plate and barely finished, but didn't need a drink of anything to finish comfortably. It was ready for pick up right when I asked and was packed delicately and transported 30+ miles for this photo. Also, those are real rose petals around the buttercream flowers.

loved everything! the coffee, pastries, and food were delicious! the Rueben was phenomenal. the views from the back were gorgeous and i loved the support of the local artists there

I get April's birthday cake here. Everyone loved it.
I got their version of "death by chocolate", and had them precut the cake.
Good thing I did because I could not cut them as small as they did, no one could eat more than one slice.

Delicious sweets and an absolutely beautiful view of fall foliage and nearby river. Lots of small tables--ideal for one or two people. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Great spot to spend an afternoon reading.

I love this cafe, I've come here a lot for the sandwiches and desserts! Windows are huge, and they have a great view of the hillside!! Coffee is pretty good, and I love their tuna melt

Best California BLT! Add the feta garlic spread and OMG! Fast and friendly service. Cute sitting area in back with big windows looking over the Connecticut River. Shout out to CT!

I just saw this place on a YouTube channel and they are soo welcoming to the YouTube peeps from amagansett press. If I’m ever there I will definitely spend money there!!!!

Delicious and made with love from the quiche to the sweets—-it’s good every single time. And the coffee—yum. The view! The decor! The Motown playlist. It’s a vibe and you should be here.

Best coffee in town... no question. Wonderful menu... from the pastries and the coconut macaroons (my favorite) and the amazing salads (love the Cobb and a different take on dill blue cheese dressing). Seating in the back has a wonderful view... great for relaxing and enjoying a good book along with the wonderful food and coffee.

Absolutely terrific bread. First time in picked up a baguette & a loaf of spelt & einkorn. Kudos to the baker!!

Delicious sandwiches at a reasonable price. Nice view in the dining room of the river, too. One thing I'd say is a bit too much mustard on my Turkey Dagwood.

Just dropped in for a cold brew and apricot scone, both excellent. Decor is lackluster, but back-room views are lovely.

My friends ordered a birthday cake for me. It was a vanilla, chocolate layer cake with raspberry jam and almond icing. It was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had and all my party guests truly enjoyed it. Will fully recommend it.

Great cafe for lunch and delicious coffee bar! We had the hummus sandwich and the goat cheese salad- I’m super impressed- this place is a gem!

Food is on point! The turkey dagwood is everything a sandwich should be. The coconut macaroons are downright dangerous! (Mad and relieved at the same time I only bought 4. They didn't last the afternoon. 😉) The back dining area has been spruced up in spectacular fashion, and is PRIME seating for a gorgeous view of the changing of all the seasons. (But especially the fall) Love this place!

I'm SO glad I stopped in to Amy's Cafe when I was in Brattleboro this week. I had a delicious cappuccino, a very tasty almond crescent cookie, and seriously one of the BEST turkey sandwiches I've ever had. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and everything was ready quickly even during what seemed like a busy morning. I just wish I lived closer so I could come here more often.
