We had a very nice mid-week dinner here. The service was friendly, and the food, wonderful. The historic building and decor were the real standouts, though. It's a very cool historic building with Revolutionary War era decor. And ghosts! 👻 (No, unfortunately I didn't actually see any....)

We had a wonderful lunch on my wife's birthday. There were many choices for drinks. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer. Then we both got the crab and shrimp melt sandwiches, which were fresh made, and awesome. Mine on their brioche bun, and my wife's served on lettuce. The fries on the side were sooo crispy. The food and atmosphere were great for a nice quiet lunch.

Loved discovering this place. Haven't been entertained by live piano music during dinner out for a very long time. The food and drinks (and dessert) were great. As an added bonus, there's a small live theater right next door that has plays occasionally. I love the older atmosphere of the place. It's very casual yet classy.

We used to enjoy the Washington House. However, they have let us down. Three strikes you're out! Our new local choice has not let us down in any of our meal experiences. I do hope that they bring back their potato pancakes that they used to serve with your dinner entree. The staff is extremely friendly. They're attiveness to customers is amazing.

We just had our Ladies Luncheon today and it was so nice! The last table did wait a long time for their food because their order was lost. But they got their food and all was good. A big thank you to owner Janice for the interesting talk about the Inn's history. So gracious of you to offer that nice added touch to our afternoon. Beautiful restaurant!
Sincerely, Lorra Seymour

This place is truly historic. The interior of the building is a lesson in history. It’s beautiful. Our waiter was very polite and respectful. He was also very helpful. This is not an inexpensive meal by any stretch of the imagination.
You’re paying for the atmosphere The great service and very good food.
Without a doubt we will be back. Thanks for the great service and great food. The overall experience was wonderful.

My first time here due to meeting a work colleague for lunch. He picked this place on a whim. What a find! Whenever I see a French dip on the menu, I have to try it. Let me tell you, I have had a lot of French dips all over the country. This was the very best French dip I have ever had. The French onion soup and fries are top notch as well! I can’t wait to get back and try some other options!

Beautiful and historic decor. The food is excellent and you won’t be disappointed - array of pub fare as well as fine dining options. Steak is always well prepared. Waitstaff are always very professional. A must-stop if you are in the area.

Food, drinks, and service were perfect for our occasion, celebrating our wedding anniversary. Happened to chance upon this place off of a Google search, lol. The parking lot was packed when we pulled in, which is always a good sign. The wait wasn't long at all, drinks were fresh, signature, we enjoyed the history of the place, and the fact that our waitress was knowledgeable about the history. Food was served hot, presentation was good, serving size...i could always use more, but I had food to take home, lol. Definitely a revisit, a few times.

This was our first time eating at McCooles Red Lion. It was our Anniversary and had always wanted to try McCooles, driving past it many times. The atmosphere is relaxing, not noisy like some other places we've eaten at. It was interesting reading about the history of McCooles inside the menu. Our waiter Mick I believe his name was, was very polite and efficient, coming back to our table asking if everything was fine or if we needed something else. The food was excellent, large portions, served on nice square platters. Other reviewers were right, the lobster bisque is the best! Not a complaint from this satisfied couple. Plan on returning in the near future.

We offered a post funeral luncheon for our family and friends and cannot say enough about the exceptional food and service we experienced. Jan, the hands-on owner and staff were extremely easy to work with and made the day go flawlessly. Thank you.

Went here for dinner last night for my birthday. The food was incredible and came out in sufficient time! We got the clam chowder (pic), nachos, short ribs, and chicken parm. Our waitress was Krystal and she was a delight! She was so friendly and very accommodating when asked to make mock tails and give beer recommendations. We’ve come before and we will certainly return.

So first starters, the hostess was really nice! Our waitress was super chill and sweet! The food was amazing I got a Crab and Shrimp Melt w French fries. It was about $16 and my only discrepancy is, I wish there were more fries! Other than that it was soo delicious and satisfying 😌 As for the drink, I got Notre...Damn it was a citrus vodka, curosao, and lime juice. The garnish is a dried lemon wedge. That was $12 but good size drink, and perfect amount of alcohol. The atmosphere is historically accurate but with a nice modern dish selection. Very cool place! Definitely recommend!

Visited recently and although the service was slow, the food was good. I had the mcCooles salad with grilled chicken and it was good with fresh ingredients and tender chicken. Enjoyed my visit.

Wonderful and unique place. Love the original woodwork and decor. Very beautiful. Service is great and food is wonderful. Tried the crispy wings and they were great. Really nice place to dine. Great for family and friends.
