Farmers Insurance - David Bridge

Called for a quote for home insurance. Ended up using a different insurance company. A couple months later, I'm getting collection calls because I haven't paid for my farmers policy. I never signed any document, digital or otherwise.

Shopping around today for new homeowners insurance quotes and I am connected with David as a local Farmers agent.

He asks me a question about how much money I make, and I ask him to clarify. We’re talking about liability coverage. I’m not stupid and I was an insurance agent in the past myself. I’m asking this because I want to know if he means just me or the total household income (dual income household). He LAUGHS and says, “either.” Mistake #1. He just assumes that both of our incomes together will still warrant the same response. Mistake #2 is he refers to himself as “my insurance agent” during the call after this. He isn’t anything until I sign the papers.

The conversation was fine until then. He was about to earn my business and in about 20 seconds completely lost it. Offending someone is how you DON’T treat a potential client. Completely unprofessional.

Wanted a quote 3 months ago. Now are calling relentlessly to give it to me. Very unprofessional.
