It’s a beautiful state park with nice beach to enjoy water during summer! We went with out two kids and all of us enjoyed a lot. It is crowded definitely in summer weekends but you can easily find a spot for you. Specious enough! We saw People enjoy doing picnic here as big groups, families and also couples 😊
Bathrooms are clean and changing area available men/women separated. We didn’t find showers, but it was not a big deal as it’s lake water not like salty sea water. We definitely go back again!
P.S. it seems there are great trails which we can go with kids. For next time!

This review is concerning the boat launch part of Beltzville as it does not involve consumption of E.coli infused water. Beautiful lake. Easy access. Even when busy there is space to launch kayaks and canoes. A lot of powered vehicles. Wakes are fun in canoes. A lot of wildlife. Worth checking out!!!

Beautiful nature trails to walk, along the lake. A nice variety of Butterflies and migratory birds visits there. I enjoy walking around here all seasons.

Grew up near here and have always loved the area. There are more trails than before and many are suitable for people with dogs and kids. At the main site there are a few bird blinds and a very small naturey play area. They used to have a playground but no longer. Lots of Pokemon if that's your thing. Nice soccer fields and picnic areas. Seasonal volleyball, boat rental is available. I've only seen the educational building open once a year. Outside of the main area there are two boat launches, one with a handicapped kayak put in. Fishing is allowed off of boats or along the shore -no dock fishing. During holidays and summer season they close off the trails (outside of the main area) because excessive picnicking and resultant excessive traffic, litter, and noise pollution has caused damage to the ecosystems and trails. Swimming is only allowed seasonally at the beach (which is sandy), however there are no lifeguards posted. Please don't try to swim if you don't know how and don't jump off cliffs -there can be large boulders you can't see. Those two activities have claimed the lives of many people over the years. No alcohol is allowed anywhere. I don't think they have a concession stand during the busy season. They used to when I was young. Nowadays most locals avoid Beltzville during the summer and holidays.

Beautiful...if you go during the off season. Otherwise the crowds are crazy. Go in the fall. Quiet and amazing.

Great paddle from Preacher's Camp up the Wild Creek to the falls! The shores are lined with hemlock and the rock is mostly slate. It is about a mile and a half paddle one way.

This place is very fulfilling as a whole. Parking is never an issue here, and it is near everything; meaning you don't have to do much walking anywhere. The beach area is spacious, the water itself is very clean and at a comfortable temperature. The landscape itself is perfect to spend the day with the family. When looking for shades areas & tables for your accomodation, you will not find it difficult to do so; as there is plenty of shaded areas with tables. Overall, everything is quite well-located; be it picnic area, boat rental, beach area, or bathrooms/changing rooms. The lake also provides boat owners with the liberty of riding their boats.
All in all, a memorable place!

Favorite place to go as children, and then to take our children, and now to go as aging adults. Many activities available such as: hiking, swimming, boating, enjoying the surrounding miles of natural beauty. Picnic area for families with grills, playground for children, refreshment stand, bathrooms with flushing toilets. Dogs allowed but not in swimming, beach area.

So beautiful! So many people having parties and cookouts. Laying on the beach and just enjoying life. Park was BEAUTIFULLY clean. Water was stunning!

Highly recommend getting there early as it was very crowded at 10:30AM.

Pick up your trash if you make a mess and keep this place stunning!!

Great place to take kayaks, swim, or hang out for the day. The boaters are all courteous and even though the lake has a lot of wakes from their boats it's pretty easy to navigate around them. My 9yo, 14yo and 11yo all love kayaking here.

The swimming beach fills up fast and is pretty crowded since it's an amazing place to hang out. We go to the boat launch and then picnic on the big grassy areas and hang out in the shade when we're not paddling around.

Had a great time fish. Generally very peaceful back in the creek arms where I fished except for the occasional pontoon boater blasting hip hop.

I loved this lake it was great. Everyone was social distancing while still having a great time! The water was warm and perfect for swimming. There were people smoking a giant hookah on the beach which was weird. It would be nice if there were people enforcing the main rules. Like no smoking !!!!

This was my first time there I was doing some dog training, receiving some dog training we use the parking lot. It was spacious and safe. I read the other reviews and my trainer confirmed in the summer. Unfortunately, there's a lot of bacteria from poor human habits besides that spring fall And winter are excellent times to visit this beautiful park.
I took a few pictures. I found everything to be clean, relaxing and worth making one of your destinations points to spend some relaxing or fun time with your pet family or friends.
The staff has done an excellent job in keeping the entire parking lot and grass areas pristine .

Very few Pennsylvania State Parks fill up as fast in the beach section on summer weekends as does Beltzville. On a recent 4th of July holiday, the park reached capacity at 9:30 AM. Also be ready on weekends to be greeted by the state police who may challenge your inspection sticker, improper child seat or watch for alcohol which isn't allowed in state parks. (see photo). Another occasional occurrence is beach closures due to high fecal matter counts in the water. You should check the website before heading over to the park.
Inside the park day use area, you'll find a very nice beach, rest rooms and changing areas, and plenty of picnic tables. For exercise, you can use one of the soccer fields or take advantage of the boat rental facility. This section also has the park office and environmental interpretive center. Beltzville currently has a very extensive calendar of events such as nature walks, night sky programs, and plant I.D. walk. A group on a bird spotting tour is shown in my pictures.
The beach section also features trails which are the easiest to hike in the park and a very nice covered bridge.
Boating is an especially fun activity at Beltzville where there is a boat lunch area on both the north and south side of the park. On the north side is the Pine Run Boat Lauch. The picture with the white truck is at Pine Run. On the southside is Preachers Camp Boat Launch. Here you'll find two docks, and a separate area for small watercrafts such as kayaks and ADA access. A nice extra at Beltzville is that you can water ski in this section with a 45 mph limit. (Pictures of the boat areas are included).
Most trails in the park are rated difficult, and two of them leave from the Preachers Camp area. From the kayak area, Trinity Gorge Trail heads west and then loops back. Preachers Camp Trail heads east from the boat lunch area and ends at a small parking lot at Trachsville Hill Road. If you access the park at the very west end off Old Mill Road, you should look for a not marked lot for the Sawmill Trail on the left. While this is listed as a difficult trail, I didn't find the first part hard at all and it took me to some very nice waterfalls (see picture). Further down Old Mill Road you'll come to a parking area near the dam. This part of the creek is supposedly stocked with rainbow trout. (see the fisherman picture by the dam). One other area to check out is at the end of Airport Road. There is a nice view of the dam from there and a small trail that's not listed on the park map.
Speaking of the Dam, the main parking area was blocked off for the weekend. I was very disappointed by this. I also found seven other accesses to the park blocked off, mostly on the north side.
There is no camping at Beltzville. Check private campgrounds nearby.
In season, there are 1707 acres open for hunting, trapping and dog training. You can hunt deer, rabbit, pheasant, ruffled
grouse, and waterfowl. When the ice is thick enough, you can ice fish. If it snows, cross country skiing is popular.
