Food was great. I got a ham and cheese and the Maple Bun. I give the atmosphere 4 stars through no fault of the staff, but the several different parents who apparently think its cool to let your kids run around a busy bakery with a long line weaving in and around people who are just peacefully standing around and bumping into them and couldnt be bothered to ask the kids to sit down or tell the kids to take it outside. I'm all for letting kids be themselves but dont let them do a rendition of Lord of The Flies while I'm hangry please.

OKAY. This place was hands down the best breakfast we had on our whole East Coast road trip. The pastries were incredible (especially warmed up a bit later) and the hot chocolate was delicious, super memorable, I’d go back just for that. Pricing was pretty fair, we got a breakfast sandwich, almond chocolate croissant, maple cinnamon bun and bacon cheddar scone. All of it was superior. Will go out of our way to come here again!

I love this place! I come here too often... awesome baked goods, especially recommend the ever changing foccacia bread, just leave a piece for me! Delicious flaky croissants and other pastries are enough to keep me coming back but I also enjoy their sandwiches, quality lattes and super flavorful creemees in the summer. I have yet to try the Friday night wood fired pizza but I'm sure it's awesome like everything else! Really good bread.

This was our favorite spot during a small vacation in Vermont. The coffee is delicious, full-caf or decaf. Every pastry and baked item was top tier. And the breakfast sandwich...might be the best I've had in my life.

Such an amazing fresh bakery. The smells are so perfect when you walk in and they have so much to choose from!!!! We got cinnamon rolls, croissant (butter and chocolate) and some rolls. The rolls didn't even make it back to the hotel before we ate them. Super cute store and worth the stop for lunch.

Love this place. Pastries are spectacular, but the toasties are my favorite. The mushroom toastie is fantastic. Creamies are great too.

Best Bread on the East Coat. I am European and own Copper Pot Bistro in Twin Mountain NH. I source the 3 Millers and Baguettes from them for my paninis. I have phenomenal feedback on those. Truly, if you seek fantastic bread, visit the Red Hen.

Came in right before closing and was able to get a great sandwich. Wonderful flavors and an enjoyable setting. I appreciate that they don’t take or ask for tips it’s nice to see a place paying its employees a fair wage and good benefits. Their organic bread is sold many places locally as well.

Once you know about it, this will become your new favorite stop on I-89. Whether you want a quick pastry snack, a breakfast sandwich, lunch sandwich, or a loaf of bread for home, make a stop here. Everything they make is delicious so definitely try whatever looks good to you.

Amazing, delicious, healthy bread. I haven’t been in their restaurant, but their bread is A+, so I’m giving 5 stars across the board. I hope they never stop using simple, high quality ingredients. This bread rivals any boulangerie in France.

This place is a dream come true. Delicious EVERYTHING. Its one of my favorite places in Vermont. Delicous bread, amazing sandwiches, fantastic sweets and beautiful politics. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Everything I’ve tried form here has been delicious; scones, breads, creemees, sandwiches… everything! Delicious matcha lattes, many places burn the matcha, but not here!!

I had a chocolate Kouign Amman and it was heavenly. Also, I just had a bite of my boyfriend’s grilled cheese and it was the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had.

A nice little bakery to stop, eat & shop in Middlesex, VT. The sandwiches are freshly made. The breads are delicious. There's a finely tuned beer selection representing Vermont. This bakery shares space with a handmade crafts store and a chocolate shop. Parking is easy. Just a minute on/off I-89. Worth the trip!

Love the values of this place ! Food was also amazing, we got sandwiches and soup and everything was very yummy. The homemade bread ofcourse takes it over the top. We went at 2pm on a Saturday and it was packed , took a little bit to find seating but we found seating before our lunch came so no issues there.

The coffee is spectacular and I ordered a egg and cheese on a croissant with chipotle sauce and it was fantastic. If you're in the area I highly recommend you visit this place the food is great the service is amazing.
