Trout Run Nature Preserve

This was a trashy place for many years, but because I grew up here in these woods, I have learned to love it. There is now 2 trails in it that have been cleared in the last month, There is also some great cleared spots in the woods that would be great for a picnic. On top of that, wildlife has begone to return here, so the bird watching dock that is here has a use now.

Appalachian Audubon Society is working to preserve a native habitat for wildlife. The work being done has attracted many species of birds for bird watching, as well as other critters such as butterflies, pollinating insects, and other wildlife that enjoy the natural landscape. As the work to preserve the land continues, the hope is it can be enjoyed by families for years to come.

Excellent place to bird and observe nature. Currently undergoing work to remove invasive species and promote native species. Fun to watch the positive changes occurring. Nature at its best.

Great place to go birding and hiking! Lots of native plants to look at as well. Nothing fancy, just a nice place to visit!

Mother Nature at it's best. Long pants and long sleeves a must. No "tocks" but plenty of "ticks".

It's a beautiful wetland in Mechanicsburg along Stumpstown Rd.
Check it out-- maybe photograph some animals of the avian variety.
...Not too much else to do, however.

It's just a stream along Stumpstown rd. It's not really anything to visit.

Need more designated trails.

There was not parking, not really a place you can go, get out and walk.

Getting overgrown! Entrance sign is barely visible. Creek is clogged, likely from growth caused by nearby excessive yard fertilizer usage.
