Chung Asian Market

I went to Chung Asian Market for the first time a few weeks ago and have been going almost once a week since.

This store is small, but don't let that fool you. It is packed to the brim with everything you could possibly look with regards to Asian cuisine.

The gentleman who ran the store was very polite, patient and knowledgeable. In casual conversation, he advised me they try to take great care to cater to Japanese and Korean interests.

The prices are a little higher than what you'd find at say Wegmans International section but still very reasonable with selections far greater than what you'd at the grocery store as well as far more authentic. As well, I'd much prefer support a local, private business.

There are lots of Korean foods and items. I love their fresh homemade Kimchi. I bought radish kimchi and I love the flavor.

I have come to Mr. and Mrs. Chung's Market for years. Everything there is of the highest quality and they have a large variety of Asian products. It's easy to see that customer service is the owner's highest value, they are always so helpful and give recommendations and answer questions on how to prepare certain foods and what products are needed. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Chung! ❤

Whenever we need Korean, Japanese, or Thai ingredients, we head to Asia Mart near T.J. Maxx in the Gateway Square in Mechanicsburg. This small store is full of goodies.

Our favorites are home-made Korean Kimchi, Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise, Japanese S&B Golden Curry Roux, various Thai Maesri Curry Pastes, Beech Mushrooms, Daikon Radishes, Japanese Nishiki Rice, and Japanese Daifuku mochi sweets. We usually end up buying a lot more!

If you are a fan of Asian noodles, you will find many choices here. Asia Mart stocks all kinds of Instant Ramens such as Korean Spicy Shin Ramyun and Japanese Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu (Pork Soup) Ramen. They also have many varieties of dry noodles such as Vietnamese Rice Noodles, Japanese Soba Noodles, and Chinese Noodles.

If you are cooking Asian dishes, it's most likely that you will find the sauces you need here. They stock many frozen food, as well.

Don't forget to check all the Asian sweets they have. Glico's Pocky sticks are always popular, while Hello Panda cookies and Yan Yan from local (York, PA) Meiji are great snacks for your children (and you). One of the most popular soft candies in Asia is Morinaga's Hi-Chew. You will find good varieties here.

We usually shop here on Thursdays (late afternoon) or during lunchtime on Fridays. On those days, Asia Mart usually has a fresh delivery of Korean / Japanese pastries such as Azuki-Bean Pastry, and Chestnut Pastry. They are so good!

The owner couple is very friendly and helpful. If you enjoy Asian food, esp. Korean, Japanese, and/or Thai food, this is a great grocery store to explore.

Very clean and has all the basics plus more that could ask for. I picked up sweet miso paste, hondashi, milkis and rice flakes. The owner was very helpful and very nice too!

Small store that always seems to have what I'm looking for. Great for frozen or shelf stable asian food items.

Although I don’t go there often, the store may be small but the owners are friendly and there are a few selections of noodles, snacks, some imported dishwares, even the tasty Yakgwa cookies I’m addicted to! Would return again!

Small Korean grocery store. They have staples like: daikon radishes, Japanese soda, Thai tea, some fresh vegetables, and many packaged dry goods.

My fave is the homemade Korean Kimchi & the Thai Maesri Curry pastes. They have many brands of instant Ramen noodles here.

The owner is super friendly. They take Visa, Mastercard, as well as cash.

Delicious kimchi, and picked up some pickled radish just because I love it. Great shop.

Cute shop, has a surprising selection despite its small size. Aside from the gps trying several times to take me through the navy base to get to it, once you are in the tjmax parking lot it’s easy to spot. It will definitely become a regular haunt for me. Excellent customer service, said hello and let me shop in peace, then magically appeared when I was ready to checkout! Only wish all items had prices on them, about a quarter were unmarked.

The best selection of east asian & Japanese pantry items, that I've had access to since Chicago. It's like The Best Cupboard Cabinet.
Prices are super reasonable & staff is helpful and Very Knowledgeable. Open 9a-9p/ 7 days a week. There is ample free parking, and the lot is maintained, plowed and well lit.

Owners are super nice and always willing to help. It’s a smidge small, but they have basically all the spices you need for cooking. They’re limited on produce. I love seeing them from time to time. Always a big ol’ smile and warm greeting.

Great little stop for those that like the Asian foods as well as the Asian snacks. Well priced and friendly staff, great selection and nice quaint little stop to shop. The fruit jelly and the mochi are my favorites from here but also the mochi ice cream if you want a nice little treat on a hot day.

Mr. & Mrs. Chung are so incredibly nice and so helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to helping me choose the best ingredients when I am looking to create a specific Korean dish. Mrs. Chung makes incredibly delicious soups and banchan which I definitely recommend if you see them available. This is my go to local Asian Grocery store for Korean & Asian groceries and especially kimchee. It is a small but clean store and has all the Korean staples. Love this place!

It’s the only place we’ve found in Harrisburg that has a wide variety of Japanese sauces and other food items! Saves us hours of driving to NJ or Philly. The owner is fantastic and will custom order items upon request.

Excellent selection and good prices. The shop owner is very helpful and friendly, providing suggesting and making sure you can find what you are looking for. My favorite Asian market in the area!

Best Asian Market in south central pa

It is the best little market!!! It's do hard to find good Korean ingredients, and foods. There supper friendly, and SUPPER helpful!
The snacks were amazing and there was so much to chose from!!!

Cute little shop. Had the exact item I was looking for! The older man working was helpful and very friendly. Me and my husband will definitely be going back very soon.
