Kanlaya Thai Restaurant

Flavors are pretty authentic. We ordered the Kailan with roast pork (Chinese broccoli) and Tom yam noodles soup. I would prefer something more sour and spicy but the taste is really something I would expect eating a bowl of noodles in Thailand. The dishes came with a complimentary serving of spring rolls which were fried well and were tasty. We got drinks to take away. Thai coffee and bubble tea was good too.

Ahh I love my employer. This establishment is covered by them. I love sweet and sour tofu and expected to be delighted by this restaurant's offering. I was more than delighted with the exceptionally large serving (I am obviously using a doggie bag) and it's less thick texture and taste. Aoy was also an excellent waitress. Now if you excuse me, I will check out the Asia Mall next door.

My first time ordering from this place. Drunken noodles with shrimp was delicious. I ate with knife and fork also I got more shrimp than expected along with Thai bubble tea overall very good food.

Super happy with this food, it was really good. Definitely going to come back.

Started off with Papaya salad & potstickers & it did not disappoint. We also tried the chicken pad see ew & green seafood curry & I have to say these dishes took me back to a time & place mentally that had me remembering why I fell in love with these dishes to begin with. I live over an hr away & will be returning for more of their amazing food. Restaurant was clean, quiet, & the food came out without a long wait. This restaurant is a really great place, & the avocado smoothie with boba was delicious 😋

We ordered the Larb Gai, Fried Calamari, Satay, Pot Stickers, Crispy Kapow Chicken, Beef Lad na, and the Chicken Kanlaya Fried Rice.

The food was amazing - seasoned, aromatic, and so delicious. Entree portions are quite generous so much so that we were unable to finish half of them - so we had a lot of food to take home and enjoy.

We arrived at the restaurant at a not so busy time and were served all our food before two tables worth of people came in, so service was really fast. Our server was very kind, courteous, and professional.

Overall, I’d say the food here is reasonably priced in my opinion (a stark contrast to some of the short and intense reviews I’ve read here)

Although I was iffy at first with the cost of each, the appetizers were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the calamari while my husband enjoyed the potstickers.
If there was one more Satay than what’s served, there would’ve been a small table-sized all out war between the 3 of us to get the last skewer.

For 3 people and for the amount of food we ordered (with consideration to the quality, portion size, and taste), it doesn’t seem expensive to me

Was skeptical at first as the waitress said I wasn’t able to customize the Kapow dish from beef/pork to fried pork belly.
But food turned out to be quite authentic and very tasty. The Tom Yum Seafood was made just right; not too spicy and a good lemon flavor. I find some restaurants when you ask for mild spicy the flavor changes a lot. Here at Kanlaya, they are able to make all dishes mild spicy while keeping the original flavor of the dish.
Truly recommend and will for sure drop by again when I’m back in Harrisburg.

Excellent Thai food!! Loved their spicy/chili paste shrimp fried rice and the Pattaya/drunken noodles. Mango with sticky rice for dessert is also excellent. The best place for Thai food in Harrisburg.

The crispy kapow chicken is amazing, my wife loves the sweet and sour vegetables. I just tried the drunken noodles and that's going to be one of my favorites now. It might seem a little pricey but we always get at least two meals from the portions they give.

I've eaten here three times with friends, sampled about 10 dishes, and loved almost all of them. The only one that wasn't great was the green curry, which for me was too sweet, although I reheated the leftovers the next day and enjoyed them much more. I was super into the pork belly with Chinese broccoli dish, which was just right, crispy fatty, but enough green to make it eat light and refreshing. Ate the whole platter, and felt great about it.

Got the kapow entree with tofu for lunch. It had a perfect level of spice and really great flavor underneath too- not just heat. It also had a great balance of protein to vegetables. Portions were great for a lunch dish (I had leftovers), the price was reasonable, and the service was good. Would definitely eat here again.

Came back for the second time this trip. I’m usually going to only new places, but this place got me hooked the first time I had to come back. The menu I had 2 days in a row, from bottom to top.
They all taste very authentic. I highly recommend as a Thai.

First visit and view of the extensive menu. Service was promt and, polite. The wait for lunch meals minimal. There's lots of potential delights to ponder on my next visit.

Omg the food was delicious!! I lived in Thailand and I know the taste. I couldn’t take a picture of my soup because I was so hungry 🙂 only one thing wasn’t good ! Music. They play English music because of American prefer. Why do you go to a beautiful Thai restaurant if you would like to listen English music . Go to American restaurant.!!

My very first visit and the food was amazing! I ordered the Siam Fried Rice and fried spring rolls.

The building itself was a bit unusual. You park in the side lot and walk around to the entrance you'll be in a hallway of a mini-mall and then turn into the restaurant. Very straight forward once you know where you're going. It's an actual restaurant just a wacky entrance.

My boyfriend and I tried the Red Curry and the Crispy Ka Pow Chicken and Milk Tea with jelly/tapioca boba. Everything was perfect, we ordered through Ubereats and our food was still hot when it arrived. It was our first time ordering from Kanlaya Thai, the curry was as expected, but the crispy chicken was to die for! Not sure if it is a tempura batter or what...it was like nothing we had ever had before. We would definitely recommend trying this place out, we are happy we did. Worth it.

I've been coming here for over a decade now. The food is always delicious, the servers are very attentive and friendly.
