This is the best handmade chocolate in america. It has been my favorite since I was just a baby. Now 31 and still my favorite. Owned by the nicest and best people so you really can't get better than this. This shop is a blessing to anyone who gets to try it

I’m a UPS delivery driver and made a delivery to this candy shop. As thanks the owner gave me a free baggie of chocolate for the road and I had to come by and leave a great review! The chocolate candies are delicious and I’ll definitely be going back to shop. Kudos to Matangos!

Great service and exquisite chocolates from this family-run shop. Got my dad an assorted box of chocolates for Christmas and he and mom devoured the box in no time. Will have to make a trip back soon!

There is no candy as good and nostalgic as Matangos if you grew up in Harrisburg. Easter isn’t Easter without a mold of a tall bunny or duck or any of the other multitude of selections. No matter what you are picking up it’s a must to grab a box of Venetian mints and what a great hostess gift too! We love Pete and will count on him for his candy for our children and grandchildren and all our family and friend’s treats when chocolate is in order. Most recent mail order comes in handy to send to siblings that long for a bite of memories.

I remember my Mom taking me to Matango’s Candies when I was a little girl. She always bought me dark chocolate covered cherries for Valentines Day and every now and then, we would stop in for a treat. Their staff was always so kind and pleasant. My parents now live in North Carolina so I plan to surprise them with chocolates from Matango’s for Valentines Day. Of course, I had to get some for our family, and it’s the same quality and customer services that I remember. If you haven’t been there before, check them out sometime! You won't be disappointed!

I love coming here and stepping back in time to a homemade candy shop. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. My husband buys me a box of my absolute favorite dark chocolate truffles a few times a year and they are so delicious!! My little girl loves to go in and pick a variety of things to try . Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did!

Not enough stars! I have been going to Matangos since I was a little girl. It was the highlight of our Easter to get a chocolate bunny from them. The customer service is outstanding! I now live in NC and have ordered for a family member who's birthday is the 4th of July. They went above and beyond the make sure my gift arrived in great condition even in the heat. Everytime we are in town a visit to Matangos is a must. Will not disappoint.

Awesome old-world handmade chocolates, I've been going here for years and would recommend that anyone visiting Hbg. make a stop here! The family are warm and very friendly and I promise you won't be disappointed! Again for first timers I would recommend using GPS, it's true that all the best places are located in those out of the way spots and this city treasure is no different!

Awesome! I've been there twice in the last 2 weeks. Last week was Small Business day I went for support, today I took my sister. The owner is so, so nice. Go support the small business owners, it's so worth it!!!!

You never exclude this place ever it's the original candy store original mom and pop store that serve the community with sweet flavor ed treats they never stopped you see a few pop-ups when you see one there's been there since there early 50s you support them they're the one can give you history about your neighborhood about your grandparents your next door neighbor it out of how to make it in that community in that neighborhood that's not forget this is not a time to be forgiven but it's the time to support

Growing up my family lived across the street from Matangos for a couple of years. Coming home from school, the smell of chocolate enveloped the neighborhood. Every payday Dad would take a couple of us kids over when he bought candy. What a lucky girl was I! Mr. Matango would give us kids a chocolate lolly pop or a few pieces of candy. He put it in our own little white bag. I remember those visits to Matangos with great fondness. I think the site of your store should be declared a Historic Site in Harrisburg!
