Taco Fresco

Chose this restaurant for a casual and relaxing dinner after a long day. Great choice! We started with Pica Pecante margaritas (habanero and pineapple flavors!), chips and queso, then tacos Carne, with cheese cake Chimichangas for dessert. It was fantastic, and just what we needed. Grace was a pleasant and attentive server!

Was great! Got seated fast no wait food came out fast ! And hot which seems to be hard to find lately . We also had Ryan as our server and he was awesome very cool guy! Awesome service and very professional! We sat outside was so nice!
We ordered the build your own nachos - were phenomenal! So good fresh pico
- taco de carne all three were amazing and juicy and good flavor!
- street corn was awesome cooked perfectly
- classic margaritas refreshing and made perfect!
Prices were reasonable Considering portions and quality the food prices were more better compared to the drinks but all around worth it for another having anything like this in the area been needing and waiting for a good Mexican sit down restaurant that’s not burritos or fast food trends.

The fish tacos here are some of the best I have ever had. As someone who frequents Mexico City and LA a ton, this might be the best fish taco I’ve had. Service at the bar was exceptional. Will be back soon

Sunday night is our date night, we're in the restaurant business too. The crew at Taco Fresco is top notch, friendly and fun. We love to sit at the bar. Kathy takes great care of us and makes the best margaritas! No bottled sour mix here. We had a burrito and tacos with hand made corn tortillas. Yum! Barbacoa is our favorite. We stopped here after a showing at the theatre a few businesses down. It was a bit busy but the hostess got us seated quickly at a very clean table, the seating was decently spaced and the atmosphere was appealing. The menu was really well designed. I had the catfish taco and it was magical. My partner has the chicken quesadilla and he loved it. I had the strawberry daiquiri as well and that was refreshing. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly. Great experience and so happy to see a business like this in town. Very authentic as well. We also loved the artwork and foliage!

Absolutely delicious food! Tons of spice and flavor. We found it to be a great hybrid of authentic flavors and modern-American Mexican food. Drinks are strong and well-balanced. Atmosphere is inviting and fun! It’s hard to believe the transformation they did in this space. We will definitely be dining here frequently.

O my goodness what an amazing experience we had! The place has such a cozy flair, and the food was so flavorful! This is the best Mexican place we have ever been to!

During our recent trip to Vermont, we had an amazing Mexican food experience. Kathy, our bartender, provided exceptional service and gave us fantastic recommendations for our meal. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was very authentic, which is quite rare in most Mexican restaurants in the USA that tend to be too Americanized. We enjoyed delicious dishes such as guacamole, cheese dip, quesadillas, and shrimp tacos. Every bite was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and incredibly fresh. We are definitely looking forward to returning again in the future.

First visit and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cuisine. Had the chicken enchiladas with a green salsa on top. They were supurb! I will definitely be back. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

My wife and I are big fans of Mexican cuisine so we decided to stop in to Taco Fresco. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the aromas of the kitchen found me and they were just right. The service was prompt and friendly. The food came out right away and was perfectly prepared. The fried catfish in the fish tacos was really on point. Best I've ever had. My wife's tostadas were just delicious. And her margarita was a 9/10. We will definitely be back. So good to have a place so close and thank you for being open on a Monday.

Taco Fresco is my new favorite place in Rutland. The La Gracia margarita was refreshing and tasty and the sangria was awesome and potent. I had barbacoa in tacos and hubby had it on nachos. Ohhhh my, that was good!!! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. For dessert we shared the best tres leches cake I've ever had (that includes what I made myself). And to top it off, the service was fantastic.
I'm so glad to finally have access to great Mexican food in Rutland, VT that I don't have to make myself.

Fabulous cantina style food - a great addition to the Rutland downtown. Delicious drinks with a heavy pour. Lovely atmosphere. Service was wonderful from the attentive host who promptly kept us updated on the status of our table to the attentive server who kept our drinks and waters filled throughout the meal. Don't miss the tamales, torta, and Mexican street corn! We look forward to visiting again.

Wow must try especially for vegetarians. They have vegan options too. We ordered Tacos, Quesadillas and Nachos. Everything is very tasty and well crafted. Request for Salsa Verde on the side. It's a must try here. Thank you for an awesome lunch! Kids loved the lemonade a lot:)

Can’t say enough good things. My family and I stumbled in for a lunch and it was some of the best Nachos and Tacos we have had in a long time. Place was packed on a Saturday mid afternoon as well which is always a good sign. This place is surely better than the 4.5 star review it currently has.

Service was friendly, fast and attentive. Food was DELICIOUS! Host/manager checked in with all tables during meals in a subtle and nondisruptive way. Atmosphere was fun and classy. Great for a night out for a few drinks with good company, and tasty grub!

What an incredibly cute place! My friend who lives in town recommended it for me for lunch with my mom who lives in Middlebury and we both loved it. Kathy (the bartender) was amazing (so thoughtful, friendly and knowledgeable) and the food and margs were so very good!

Hit this place on a whim and it rocked. Service was fast and friendly and the food was great--- burrito bowl had a good kick to it and the pineapple margarita was a great cocktail made by infused tequila with pineapples behind the bar. There are two sections--- a bar type area and a more formal sit down. Well worth the trip.

Even though it’s very busy being the second day the place is open - we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. The food is AMAZING and our server was super friendly. Highly recommend the queso blanco with chips (very flavorful and not too spicy).

I love Mexican and I am so happy Taco Fresco has come to downtown Rutland!

The ambience is warm and welcoming, I love the design of the bar and color scheme throughout the restaurant. The space feels new and clean. The cocktails are excellent! If you like tequila you'll love the variety of tequilas on hand. We have been twice and tried different cocktails both times from Karen and Gabby and had an amazing experience both times. On our most recent visit Gabby gave us an entire tequila education that was very helpful.

We have tried the tacos, enchiladas, and other dishes and have been really happy with each one. The chips and guacamole are great and you can tell they make the chips fresh (which isn't common in VT).

The prices for the food are very reasonable while the cocktails are a bit more than the bars around downtown Rutland the quality and taste more than make up for it!

Give it a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

The only downside? I wish they opened one in Killington!
