It doesn't cost a fortune to care for your loved one. The doctor and receptionist (wife) are exceptional. I trust them with my life because without my pets my life would be awful lonely..

I have been taking my 6yr old maltipoo and 2 year old sister cats to Center Rutland since we moved here two years ago. My dog needs regular dental cleanings which they provide. It is THE most affordable I’ve found in any area. The staff have always been gracious and timely with appointments. Just this week my cat had a foreign object stuck in her intestines. They got her in immediately and after multiple tests they were able to do an emergency surgery. The communication and compassion was beyond my expectations. We were able to take her home the next day. I called two days later concerned about the amount of food she was getting and they wanted us to bring her in right away. Dr. Ray showed us how to properly feed and medicate an unwilling cat. I’m very impressed with the care we received, the office staff as well as the clinical. Thank you!

I've seen the comments about the lady at the front desk. She's been pretty kind to me, not sure why I differ from others. She did give me a little bit of sass the first time I visited but when I ended up crying over my sick cat, she was very kind and gave me some tips on how to help before the vet visit. I will continue to bring my cat here as I enjoy Dr. Ray and the service we have received for our boy :)

The big difference here is the honesty. I paid a THIRD of what it would have cost... elsewhere... to have my cats bad teeth removed. They've always been honest and up front regarding my cat and dog. They care. So long as I live here, I'll never go elsewhere. My pets are in good hands.

Very professional always puts the care and safety of my fur babies first. They also won't charge you unreasonable prices. Proud to have them as my vet.

Dr. Ray was very, very good with my dog. I have nothing but good to say about him. He answered all of my questions and did a great job cleaning my dogs teeth. However, I do have to say that the blonde receptionist was borderline rude to me. I'm a very kind person and give people the benefit of the doubt as you may not know what they are going through. I wiil take my dog back to Dr. Ray as He truly cares for animals and works very long hours to ensure that our pet's are well taken care of.

I have been a client of Dr. Raymond Knutsen for many years. I have 6 animals he cares for.
My personal experience with him and his office staff so far has always been positive. They are a wonderful, caring team of professionals. I have read some negative reviews regarding the office staff which I do not share.
My most recent experience was just a couple of days ago. I brought in a cat and a dog for a nail trim and routine vaccinations. The office staff greeted us politely. My cat became sick in his crate as he has severe motion sickness during car rides. The office staff took my cat and crate and cleaned both without me having to ask. My cat is a polydactyl cat and it’s difficult to trim some of the hidden nails. Dr. Knutsen and his assistant were able to complete the task quickly and competently, which with polydactyl cats isn’t always easy.
As for my dog, she is not a social dog and it takes awhile for her to warm up to anybody not living in my household. She had no problem with Dr.Ray trimming her nails, drawing blood for the Lyme test and giving her a shot after a good checkup.
Dr.Ray is very easy to talk to and displays a calm demeanor. He did save one of my cats life a couple of years ago, as the cat had a total urinary blockade.
I will continue to recommend Center Rutland Animal Hospital to friends and family.

Our family has been taking our beloved pets to Center Rutland Animal Hospital since September of 2004. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Ray and his staff have been supportive and have freely given their time, even after hours. They have seen us through life with new puppies and through to the final walk over the Rainbow Bridge.

Wonderful experience. We came in as an emergency case from out of state. The vet and the staff were great. Very personable and helpful. Our dog is doing much better. I can’t say enough good things (if we lived up here this would be my veterinarian).

I love Center Rutland vet ! They saved my cats life . When my cat was blocked with kidneys stones Center Rutland Vet was closed so I brought him to a different vet , they kept him for 2 days and wanted to perform surgery I wanted to get a second opinion and they charged me $2800 for keeping my cat overnight and having a catheter placed twice and my cat was traumatized with no improvement. Then I took him to Center Rutland and Dr. Ray told me to bring him home in his own relaxing atmosphere and change his food and he explained why his other food was causing stones. I changed his food to hills prescription that he suggested monitored him and passed the stones with no problems and it has been many years without issues. Also he saved our dogs life he had lost 40 pounds, did X-rays and had surgery to remove an entire stomach full of rug the dog had eaten. He suggested a healthy food diet from the vets and our 12 year old dog is back to normal and gaining weight . Love all the staff, very caring and prices are reasonable

This clinic is the kindes, most helpful, compassionate, altruistic animal care facility I've ever experienced. They truly care about your fur babies. They understand financial difficulty & work with you if needed so your pet gets the care s/he needs. They're incredibly helpful in making sure your questions are answered & meeting the needs of you and your pet. They're very personable & fun loving people. The vet, Dr. Ray, is extremely knowledgeable, attentive, & prompt in addressing any and all matters surrounding your pet. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a new vet ❤❤❤

I was reading some of these reviews and I’m really not the type to write something or good at it. What can I say about this Vet. They saved my dogs life. When other vets were looking at the income, instead of treating the patient and the family too. They took time out to explain what’s going on and gave us options. Our dog was very close to dying. As you know animals are very important in everybody’s life. They become a family member. Your willing to do whatever it takes to help or save them. I will say all the staff members go beyond the call of duty. It appears, we don’t recognize or appreciate what they do or put up with on regular basis. We always think of ourselves instead of others. We are so grateful, we found this vet and everybody that works there. If we didn’t, our dog would not be here today. So thank you so much for everything that you do for us and all your other animals that you save or help!!!

These guys are amazing! When no one else would see my brother's (who is a double amputee and had just had a heart attack and was having a Stent put in) very sick 7 week old puppy, they didn't hesitate and had me bring her right over! They were kind, caring, and very sweet to both of us. Complete difference of night and at from the time I brought her this morning and picked her up this afternoon. Not only did they make her well, they charged me very little and gave the pup 2 bags of food! If it weren't for these guys, I honestly think this baby would of died. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤ you guys ROCK!!

Dr. Ray saved my dog’s life, plain and simple. She came down with a mystery illness and injured herself at the same time. She was near death, not eating or drinking, and her hind legs were paralyzed. Diagnosing her was tough because her bloodwork was normal. But Dr. Ray persisted with her and today she is back to full health.

I’ve read reviews here that have criticized the office staff. I’ll tell you this. A little over a year ago, I was in this vet office when I received a phone call that my father had passed. They were quite comforting and caring, giving me all the time I needed to compose myself and make a few calls.
Over the last six weeks, I’ve been there maybe 10 times, and they’ve always been caring and ultra concerned about my ailing dog and me.
