We loved our stay here! To be fair, it was late season and not too many people here, but everyone we met was friendly. We appreciated the rules as we understand that it helps make the place enjoyable for everyone. The owners were super friendly and helpful. The patrols around the campground were impressive and they always gave us a friendly wave. We were comfortable exploring the area during the day knowing our campsite was under the owner’s watchful eyes! Thank you for a wonderful visit.

My family of 50+ relatives & I are all from Ohio. It’s been difficult to find places for all of us to vacation together & we are all enjoying our stay at the cabins/campsites here. Definitely recommend!

It's a good place if you want a secure environment. On site shower and toilets. Rustic camping but also has places for RV.

Had a few beginning of the year issues with our cabin. But the owners were very friendly and helpful. They made sure everything was taken care of for the rest of our stay.

Unbelievably beautiful, great place to stay. I arrived doing a cross country trip, and the staff were unbelievably friendly, and accommodating. Though it was cold, and rained during my 3 day tent site camping, the staff went totally out of their way to make my stay comfortable. A great big 👏 team work shout-out to: Dan, Marge, Heather, Danielle, Terry, and Tom. The campground is very clean, and well maintained. Bathrooms have plenty of hot running showers. Very close to the lake, and the local town. Great place for families too. I've done plenty of camping trips around the country in my time, and I must say that this has to be one of the best!! Upon leaving, I also felt like part of the family 👪!! Please check this place out!!! By the way, it should be mentioned that this campground is sunder new Ownership. John, aka: Juan

Our already booked site at another campground was flooded due to Hurricane Ida and Lake Raystown Family Campground saved day! They were extremely helpful, courteous, and friendly. The primitive site we were in was perfect for us. Secluded, fire pit, picnic table, and a walkable very well maintained porta potty. Shower facilities also available to primitive campground users as well in the main park. This was our first time at Lake Raystown Family Campground and it's my understanding that the current owners took over within the past year, so any of the poor reviews here do not reflect on current ownership. Well done, thanks again for saving our Labor Day Weekend everyone.

My wife and I stayed in the primitive campsites during a hot July weekend, and were very pleased with both the campground and the area amenities.

The camping areas were nice, wooded areas with a good amount of space to set up our hammocks. There would have been ample space for tents as well. We had a picnic table in good condition and a fire ring...that's it, pure basic camping in the woods, which is what we were after. (They also have an RV area with playgrounds and the like if that's what you're after). Where we were, it was peaceful and quiet living for a weekend.

The area is great, the lake is a great recreation spot. We will return often, it was a decent 2.25 hour drive from Pittsburgh.

Don't let the dated look of the website fool you. This is a well maintained, modern campground. The inside of our cabin was spotless. Staff was friendly and helpful. Has a private back entrance campers can use to get to the Snyder's run boat ramp in about 5 minutes.

We camped recently at Raystown campgrounds and would like to thank Janet and the entire staff for the most awesome hospitality extended to us by her and her colleagues (Ben and Tom).

Everyone in our group was decidedly impressed by their niceness, their helpfulness, and top-of-the world diligence in meeting every need of ours. They have set the standards very high and we were all so happy to see what awesomeness looks like at a campground. It was especially very refreshing for our children to see what good hospitality and excellent customer service looks like, something which we often miss in big cities these days!

Janet and her staff are truly very special and go way above and beyond probably every day in their life, not because they have to, but because it has become a habit. I rate the staff a 10/10. Excellent in every way. Kudos and keep up the good work!!

Best wishes,
The entire Khan family and friends

I could not be happier about our experience here. My boyfriend, our dog, and I rented a two person cabin which was beautiful- clean, homey, comfortable. There was a fenced in area for dogs to run in and plenty of walking paths around the property. Nice playground for kids. Soccer nets, frisbee golf, the list goes on and on! The owners were very nice and helpful with anything we needed. 15 minutes from the lake, about 25 from Trough Creek State Park, about 20 from the Thousand Steps trail. This place is amazing!

We rented the large cabin for a couple of days. Janet is a great host and the rest of the team is very helpful. The resort is very well kept and organized. The cabin is large and has all a house should have.
The only point I would like to recommend is adding lights on the paths at night, it can be very useful for orientation.

We are a group of more than 12 family with the kids and friends totaling more than 40 people. We first went to this camping ground 5 years ago for the first time.Since, then we go to the this place every year for the 5th time now. We never been disappointed. We found the accommodation to be perfect for our kind of large group. We enjoyed hiking, bicycling, lake swimming and the night camp fire. The service is good and the people are very nice and friendly. They even go out of their way to make the soccer field for our group. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, we could not have asked for a better camping experience for the kids and the whole group. I recommend this place for everyone.

The owners are very friendly & our stay was great. It's very quiet and clean. The only negative thing i would say about this place is the campground host( the husband) was very argumentative. We were driving out & was only going about 7 miles an hour when he told us to slow down & when my husband said " we weren't even going 10 miles an hour he said "bullshi " & we had our children in our car. Other than that i would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed in the medium cabins last week mid-week and had a wonderful time. The primitive camping was closed because of COVID, and I guess the RV folks mostly come only on weekends, so we had the place practically to ourselves! The cabins were very comfortable and the owners helpful. We asked if they knew where we could rent lifejackets and they just lent us some of theirs for free! We stayed here primarily because we were impressed at their COVID precautions (sanitizing between each guest) but my kids had so much fun and are begging to return. The showers had good water pressure and lots of hot water. We especially appreciated all the seating options with the cabins—indoor dining table, couch, recliner, outdoor table on the porch, and then a picnic table by the fire circle. This was definitely glamping, not camping, and we loved it. Hoping to return at the end of the summer or next year!

We love this place! My friends and I enjoy a group tent camping weekend every summer, and we've been to Lake Raystown Family Camping Resort twice now. The campground is well-maintained and clean. The tent camping area is beautiful - set back in the woods and away from the campers and RVs. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to our friends!

Spent a great weekend in the primitive tent loop. Ben and Janet went out of their way to make sure all was exceptional. This is the cleanest and well maintained campground I have ever visited and all of the employees are friendly and helpful. The level of customer service here can't be found elsewhere.

We stayed at the tent site. It was absolutely beautiful! The tent site is on one side of a gravel road and the other side small campers. They look like permanent campers. My stay was for 2 nights and during the stay it was extremely quiet. So even though it looks densly populated I have come to believe that nobody here will be to loud. There is a extremely clean bathhouse close buy that has to showers and 2 toliets in it. The outside has a garden hose a sink and dish soap provided. From our tent site is only 1 lot walk away. Alcohol is allowed. The tent sites are very close to each other, that could be a draw back if you don't like strangers close by listening to you or vise versa (hearing strangers talking). If you don't mind being very close to other campers the sites are extremely well kept and the area beautiful indeed.
