CN Brown is a great community company. They are always professional and thoughtful. They take care of you like family. Thanks for all you do from the drivers to the office crew and even the after hours call service. If you don’t want to get left out in the cold or treated like a number, support the community company that supports you!

I ran out of fuel (my fault) and called for an emergency delivery. The driver was out of state due to a family situation, but the manger was very helpful in telling me how to remedy my situation in a pinch. I had heat running again in a matter of hours. I found customer service in subsequent dealings with the office (Georgia, I believe) to very pleasant. She was very willing to explain to me how the system of scheduled delivery worked, I found that to be very informative. I thought dealing with them was quick, convenient, pleasant, informative and easy.

I only use CN Brown now for my oil delivery as they are less costly than other companies and have always been pleasant to me.

Parking lot is too small to park fuel trucks here and still run a busy gas station.

If you have to call in the winter the st.j branch if the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I had used them previously and had no issues. They changed drivers and the new guy said they wouldnt deliver. In the past they would tell me what day they would deliver I would sand and that was that. Apparently they have no tire chains. Like many other companies that do not carry chains. I dont see this is an issue because the company I now use doesnt either and has no problems. Butlers oil or rhymes are great to deal with. I also used dead river but they tend to be a bit pricey. I'm doing 2 stars merely because I feel before my service was good. Dont know what changed on their end but I would guess it isnt helping them. No need reply I dont want to talk to your rep.

Delivery lead times always seem to be 2 weeks or longer in the winter, but don't complain or you may experience some not so nice comments, depending who is doing the customer service that day. Some nice ppl there but a nasty one also as referenced in another review here.

Of all the bad experiences we have had with this company the most recent has been the worst. They had us waiting more than half a month, our oil is almost out and without it the house pipes will freeze. We called them and they do not care, they scheduled us for another week out so now it's nearly a month since the initial request.

They showed up, did not fill the tank, did not even get near the pipe (no footprints) didn't even let us know there was a problem, just left without filling the tank. The tank is fully accessible they have delivered with this much snow on the ground before.

This is not just a residential location, I work from home. If the pipes freeze it can damage company product. Our marker for our oil is nearly touching the bottom.

Driver left without filling the tank or even nocking because there were two inches of snow in the way. Company has us waiting three weeks for refill now and we are almost out of oil. they do not care. customer services is abysmal. looking for a new place to purchase from.

This company is something else. I had an oil delivery scheduled the driver shows up and instead of getting out of his truck to actually look to see if where my oil goes is "iced" over as he claims instead of seeing that its covered with a tarp so it doesn't get that way he drives off. So now my family and I who is almost 8 months pregnant need to wait to be put back on the schedule in another almost 2 weeks not only is it lazy but he wont be reprimanded or fired smh. Simply disgraceful on this companies part to let an employee be so lazy

We had an appt for someone to come check my tank for oil delivery. They decided not to come and didn't bother to let me know. They definitely need new people in the St J office.

I've been a customer for many years and I can PROMISE you you'll be much better off walking with 5 gallon gas cans in your hand, pumping your own fuel at a pump and doing it yourself. (Check out Butler's Family Auto instead if you're in the NEK, they're GREAT!) The customer service and solution to any small issue that could come up after you wait for a delivery for 2 weeks could cost you being easily left out in the cold for another full 2 weeks.
I waited two weeks for a delivery (that's okay, businesses get busy and there's a lot of people wanting fuel.) When it finally came, I had a completely empty tank and the driver chatted with my landlord outside a bit. He put a whole 9 gallons in and rather than someone calling me to see what was going on, or even reach out to my landlord at the time, I get a slip (Full? No whistle). I had no idea when certain items were replaced that a whistle was not one of them, as this was out of my hands and I rent. The tank passed inspection that summer, by the same driver who was delivering. Rather than the driver who was at the house try and rectify a simple solution of making sure the delivery I've been relying on got taken care of, I get nothing but that slip and a phone call at 4:30 PM on a Friday. He was there that morning. I called and left a message and waited all weekend and did not get a call back. I had to stop in Monday morning and I was told I would get a call to see what could happen to fix the solution. I didn't get a call. I had to call, and was rudely questioned, "Yeah, did you get your whistle fixed?" By Georgia. So unhelpful and rather rude, especially since I have been a customer there for many seasons. I had no idea about this, and mentioned why something wasn't mentioned to the landlord that the driver was chatting with while pumping a whole 9 gallons in my empty tank. The solution was the get the whistle fixed and have to wait another 2 weeks when everything could have been solved right then and there if the driver asked one simple question, instead he wanted to move on to the next delivery immediately since he was stacked. Just do yourself the biggest favor and go anywhere else but here, even if you're stuck with doing it yourself.

I'm visiting my parents, who are both in their late 70's in Waterford, VT. Yes, we have a steep driveway. We have been heating this house for over 40 years with oil. Today CN Brown in St. Johnsbury said our driveway was too steep and no longer could service us, said she was done talking and hung up. We did ask if it was an equipment problem, and she said it was our driveway. The driveway was clean, the salt had melted any residual snow/ice down to clean blacktop, but now it is just too steep. I even shoveled a path around the house yesterday to make it easier. Good bye, the price isn't worth the poor service!

Terrible. The company wasn't helpful. They said I would have an oil delivery on Wednesday, that didn't happen. Then when I insisted it be done they "found" a note from the driver saying my driveway wasn't sanded. Correct it wasn't. I ashed it. They told me Ash was preferable. The woman, Georgia, was rude and so argumentative. I will never use them again. Dead River seems to be a much better option. I had to give a star in order to post this. I wouldn't have given them even this much if that was a choice.

This place has horrendous customer service. Long story short, they missed two delivery dates and could not explain a good reason why. When they finally showed up they refused to deliver because the delivery driver had to walk through snow to get to the fill pipe. Apparently they were expecting a red carpet and champagne upon their arrival but no one in their office had informed me about clearing a path. When I explained this to their office they laughed and said, "Anyone who lives in the NEK knows this." Apparently not! I called a few other companies and they do not require it, but said they would never deny a delivery because of this. Do yourself a favor and learn from my god awful experience with this god awful company!

I recently was looking into switching fuel providers and this company had a much lower price for pre-buy so I started the process of becoming a customer.
Do not bother with this company. The time I wasted with them only meant my pre-buy price with my provider of many years had gone up even more. At least I know I wont get the run around from them.
