First time there, Rudy was just great. Not just with me but the others at the bar. I cannot overstate how you just feel comfortable from the moment you take your seat. It just felt right and you can't ask for more than that.

The Salted Caramel Pretzel shot is delicious ❤
Can never go wrong with a standard Old Fashioned or a Rum and Coke, too ❤
Drinks are affordable and the music is on point

Place was low-key and pretty chill. Great little dive.

I've only been here one time, but this place is great. I didn't know what to expect from the outside. I thought I was entering another typical Scranton city bar. Little did I know, this place is really supportive of the local arts and performance scene. Just walk over to the jukebox... You immediately notice its all local bands! I've been to many bars in my day, but haven't seen anything like this before.

If you're looking for a warm and inviting atmosphere with a friendly staff (and some adult beverages) I highly recommend this place.

Such a great place. There's always kind people around, queer inclusive, Irish but in a subtle way. Open late. 10/10 best bar on the block. Also everyone is hot for some reason.

Another stop recommended by several friends who used to be locals - and it sure lives up!
Met Brian & Bob, two of the three owners - took some whiskey with the boys and got in a game of Golden Tee! Incredibly priced drinks and very friendly staff and patrons. Further, the walls are decorated with local artists' works that you can actually purchase, local supporting local!

S@&twhole bar. All the bar tenders are nice enough and I like everyone I have met. Place is dirty and dark and perfect. Crowd after 10 is very college.

Great local dive bar. Staff is great, drinks are affordable and the selection is outstanding. They don't serve food but allow you to bring in outside food. They have a trivia night and other events as well as live music. Really great place and location. One of the best spots on Scranton.

A Scranton favorite, I enjoy The Bog best when it's a quiet night. Panked and other events are a blast. The bartenders are super friendly and the drinks are affordable. The only downside is that when it's busy, it can get cramped and hot (such is the curse of a small space). Interesting crowd that cycles between people who you'll adore and people you can't wait to get away from. But, it's The Bog. We love it that way.

Top ownership qualities, if you like an old-school bar smack dab in the middle of town with dollar fifty Yuengling pints from 9 to 11 every night. Love these guys love this place

Best bar going. Seemed like all the nicest people in Scranton decided to meet up at this place while we were passing through on a road trip. If you have the opportunity, grab a drink at this place.

100% sure that the Bog is like Fight Club. Except everyone tells everyone about The Bog. The two biggest draws are the CD filled jukebox and ever changing beer list. For me, the ability to bring outside food in (like the food trucks around the corner) and the wide beer list is what brings me back. The service is nice, though when the bar is packed, it's a short gal's struggle to be seen as usual.

Parking: Always easy to find a spot on the block.
Price: Varies based on beers.

Only place I know of with my favorite beer on draft. Weihenstephaner. Lotta kids in there on the weekends but otherwise a chill place

It's a small bar if you're into that kind of thing. Atmosphere is mellow. Not bad if you want a quiet place to drink

For me, going to The Bog is a no-brainer:

Being tucked away from the want-to-be night clubs of Scranton Pennsylvania, The Bog offers a different kind atmosphere for those who prefer a more laid-back, and personable drinking experience. The bar tenders are all cool dudes each with a great taste in music, and a welcoming personality that will help any stranger call the place home. They're all easily approachable, and have always offered fast service even when the place has been packed, and friendly conversation when it wasnt.

In Scranton this is the best, happiest, most eclectic music-lovers dream bar, replete with bartenders who dance with you and curating the soundest musical acts of NEPA.

The staff are great. Even on busy nights it seems like they go out of their way to get to everyone in a fair way. The drink prices are affordable and the vibe is relaxed.

It's been a long time since my friends and I regularly occupied the far corner of the bar by the jukebox. This four square feet of space was my home, my salvation, my therapy, my nightly vacation for many, many years. And though The BriGuy has passed on to the drum kit in the sky, sometimes early in the morning at 4am in the wind on Adams Ave you can hear him jamming with the band.
I remember once when I had only recently turned 21, I was told a story about Brian & Rudy standing out front sweeping or something. Then an old Russian lady (Eastern European at least) came upon them in front of the bar and looked up at the sign. In a thick accent she told them "In my language Bog means God". And with those few words she validated all of us at the time....
