Glider Diner

Great diner. The food was amazing, as promised. We each tried one of their hot sandwiches, roast beef and turkey. They were piled high with meat and smothered with gravy. I tried the fries and hubby tried the mashed potatoes. We were both happy with our meals.

The service was really great. The server obviously knew how to treat customers and brought our delicious meals promptly. She was really friendly with everyone and had obvious regulars, which speaks volumes.

The complete diner experience was just what we hoped for. We will be back.

Took a rare trip into Scranton searched on Google maps for a place to eat. Ended up @ Glider Diner. Service was good. Food was great! Good size portions @ a great price. We got the hot roast beef sandwich platter & a meatball sub. Highly recommended.

"Old style" diner with a great menu and good home cooked food. Service was a little slow, but the place was full so that could be the reason. Will definitely stop again when in the area.

First time here, was in town for an appointment. Service was amazing as well as the food. Server recommended trying the Scranton's famous fries with cheese and gravy and it didn't disappoint. Also had the chicken cheesesteak which had real grilled chicken which is the way they should be made. Delicious and HUGE!!! Great portions for a Great price!!! Everything was amazing.

Normally I get the hot roast beef dinner which is so darn good, but today I got the fish and chips they were really good also! We get take away often too and our food is always packed great to carry and the staff is always very friendly!
Went today for breakfast and as usual it was great!

Had breakfast here this morning. Everything was nicely done and this place is kept up well. Will definitely be coming back here whenever I return to Scranton. Note that if you need wheelchair access they have a ramp out back. I overheard one of the waitresses mention that most people don't know they have a wheelchair accessible entrance.

First time visiting the surprising diner.. it looks like they built on to the original diner and still have much of the retro look. There is lots of seating, even outdoor. The waitress was really friendly and very accommodating to my 4 yr Olds whims.. the food was definitely traditional diner food and it was good! I ordered the hot turkey platter, but it wasn't as hot as I was expecting. Other than that everything else was great!

Such good food! The roast beef pot roast was probably the best I have ever had, even my boyfriend said he hopes to have dreams about it. The diner was clean and our waitress was amazing. Highly recommend!

We loved this place and our awesome server. We found this diner online after staying in Scranton overnight. We sat ourselves in the section closest to the road in a booth and were lucky to have a server with a lot of life and personality. I believe her name was April. We loved her! The coffee was great and she was right on top of the refills. Myself and my husband had the breakfast combo. I had mine with French toast (loved it) and my husband had the pancakes that were larger than my head. The portions were large and neither of us finished our plates because of it. My sister in law had a spinach omelette that obviously had fresh spinach cooked in (not frozen). She was so impressed. We wish we lived closer to frequent the place. It's definitely worth it to check it out. Being in the business myself, I know often times a good server doesn't get the credit they should or deserve. If nothing else, if you are lucky enough to have April as a server, please tip her well. She's awesome! Just sayin. If I'm in the area again, I know I'm coming back.

Food was amazing, servers are great but very busy. All in all definitely recommended to eat here.

Very nice original Mountain View diner from the 1940s. I had meat loaf and mashed potatoes, which was excellent. Traditional diner comfort food. Worth a detour whenever you're in the Scranton area.

this classic diner from 1948 has an ambience of the steam era of railroading, it has a great staff, great food, and the area is excellent. this place is a must-go if you are on a roadtrip or you're headed to steamtown nhs

Always an excellent experience. Food is always great. Staff is friendly and go out of their way to make your meal enjoyable. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

We went in, and they said we could seat ourselves. A waitress came right over and took our order. The farmers' omelet and home fries were great.

I had the glider sandwich for the 1st time 2 weeks ago with a side of gravy. Then today I ordered the roast beef platter with mashed and gravy and another glider sandwich to take home. It is delicious!!!! The roast beef is cooked great. The gravy is amazing you could seriously put it on anything. The mashed tasted homemade!!! I am def a customer for life!!!

Standard diner fare, great food and fast service even though we had a large party. Their corned beef hash was a bit dry but very delicious.

Had breakfast with some friends. Angel was our waitress and did a great job. Kept the coffee full and made sure we had everything we needed. Checked back on US often. Was very friendly also.

Glider diner. A-mazing food! Gravy is the best on everything!! Their breakfast is always great too. Family friendly style or date night in a booth.
