Artinger Custom Guitars

Was happy to find out there is an authorized Martin Guitar repair shop practically in my neighborhood! I reached out and Matt, the owner, got back to me right away with a few questions and the suggestion that he didn’t think it was anything to worry about but to keep my eye on the issue. This is a good guy who looks at a picture for free and doesn’t try to get you to spend $$$ on something unnecessary! I will definitely reach out to him for help in the future and send my guitar playing friends his way.

Matt Artinger makes the best guitars AND his customer service is also the best. I recently contacted Matt via email because the tailpiece on my number one guitar had an issue. Matt had me send it to him, immediately made me a new one, and shipped it back to me at no cost whatsoever. The new tail is an even better design than the original and I was back to playing in only a couple of days! Bravo!!!!

Matt did a setup on a secondhand acoustic guitar I purchased. The process completely changed the instrument. Buzzing and vibrations are gone, strings height is consistent, and bar chords are singing. Great results and he was very communicative throughout.

I brought my 1969 Martin D-12-35 to Matt Artinger, luthier, for a repair estimate. He quoted the price and I gave the authorization for the work.
He called a few days later with good news, the work would be mostly covered by Martin’s warranty. A call came from Matt after another few days that the work was complete. And better news, it would cost me nothing, Matt had negotiated for Martin to cover the whole nut.
There’s a lot to be said for Matt’s integrity also his customer first business practices!!!

Great luthier and set up service, haven't used anybody else since I he built my main guitar in 2010.

Quick work, fair price.

We drove over 45 minutes to pick up my Martin guitar. I had to use the bathroom and he refused to let me use his precious bathroom. He has a pompous attitude and acts like he's above you. I certainly won't be having him build me a custom guitar. What if I'm there for hours picking out woods, binding, tuning gears and have to use the bathroom?? Lousy customer service with an attitude to boot.

Quoted a guitar to be unfixable, yet a two year luthier was able to fix it. For that reason alone I would never buy a custom from this shop.
