Backwoods Bar & Kitchen

I love this place! After some golf, come up and get some excellent food! The ceaser salad was great! Never had a bad meal here. The food came out really quick, and the server was very nice. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the 9th green. I will definitely be back every time I'm here playing some golf.

We were promptly greeted, promptly shown to our table and the waitress was very helpful. The Smoked Wings are delicious, ordered the Fermented Honey Garlic (Wow) The food was delicious. The pot roast was tasty. In addition our table ordered their 1/2 Rack of Ribs, Fried Chicken and House Burger. We will definitely return as the restaurant is beautiful, stilish with good views of the golf course.

You Need To Know? Had 5:45 reservations on the deck overlooking the putting green. The scenery at this venue is spectacular. We had vegetable soup, smoked brisket cheesesteak, pulled pork sandwich, & the fried chicken dinner. This was mouth watering, competition winning bbq! The fried chicken had a Chipotle bacon maple sauce that was sweetening delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was so good that you couldn't stop eating it once you started. The smoke brisket cheesesteak came out wrong originally & the staff were quick enough to recognize their error before we even realized. Friendly and quick service. All around great venue for BBQ! Such a great experience! We got seated immediately without a reservation. Staff was very quick and friendly and the food was made to order, piping hot and delicious! We had a rack of smoked ribs, Mac n Cheese, Meatloaf w mashed potatoes and deviled eggs! Prices were all reasonable and the place is really nice inside and out and. We will definatly visit again and would love to try the outdoor dining if it's not raining!

First time at Backwoods last night. It was a nice drive to get there. Upon walking in we were greeted by very friendly staff and seated immediately. The waitress was friendly and came over within 1-2mins of being seated. The drink menu was extensive and many great food choices which made it hard to pick from. We ordered the smoked wing appetizer with Thai chili sauce which was excellent, and perfectly prepared. Came with HOUSE MADE blue cheese and boy you could tell, best blue cheese I’ve had. Cocktails were made well, not watered down. Ribs with cornbread and coleslaw and the weekend special, mini beef Wellington were our meals. Ribs were dry rubbed and came with a side of sauce (again house made and you could tell by how tasty it was) which is how I prefer them (no everyone agrees so be aware). The ribs were perfectly tender and REAL smoked just like the wings. The cornbread was spot on. Now be aware that the coleslaw is vinegar based which is super hard to find around here but was excellent (not everyone will like it). The beef Wellington was amazing, and being such a hard dish to pull off, the chef should be proud.

The staff is extremely attentive. We were checked on frequently but not to the point where it was annoying. If any of the staff saw a dirty glass or plate it was quickly removed from our table, not just by our waitress. The staff was dressed nicely and looked professional. The owner was on-site checking on everything.

A very pleasant experience that proved backwoods to be a hidden gem. We will be back! Keep up the high standards, it shows in the food coming out of the kitchen!

The Backwoods Bar and Kitchen is located near the next to the Greystone Mountain Golf Club and is certainly makes for a nice dining experience.

The Backwoods Bites is a tasty appetizer. These eight boneless chicken wings come in fermented honey garlic mustard, barbeque, barbeque verdi, and Thai chili. The Thai Chili isn't spicy, but very flavorful.

The Baby Back Ribs were absolutely wonderful. The meat was very tender and completely falls off the bone. The barbeque sauce is tangy and quite excellent. The sauce is served in a little plastic cup, so make sure you order two of them because once you taste it, you'll want to lather your ribs in it.

For garlic lovers, the asparagus cacio & pepe is definitely a splendid choice. The asparagus was delicious, resting on a bed of angel food pasta and tender slices of chicken breast.

The chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and the sugar cookie cheesecake were an adequate dessert, if not decadent. I would recommend adding more cheesecake.

Overall, the food was exceptional and well worth a visit.

We visited for an Easter brunch with family and it was a lot of fun! They did a Easter egg hunt, pictures with the bunny and all the food you can eat! Super friendly staff!

My wife and I have a nice little getaway in NEPA on the Susquehanna. We found this little gem this summer and have been back many times. Great atmosphere, food is outstanding, the wait staff is exceptional. If we don’t bring friends, we love sitting at the bar and having dinner. It’s our new go to place when up in the area.

We live locally and have gone several times. The food is always excellent and so is the service. We went for the first time with our two year old and the experience was great. The only thing I've noticed every time we go is that the music is very loud.

Friendly waitstaff, prompt service. My husband and I both ordered the flat iron steak and it was delicious and very tender.
We were seated near the bar, and enjoyed live music while we ate. I will definitely come back again!

The best place you’ve probably never been. Great food, nice atmosphere. Reminded me of the restaurant at Knobel’s Grove with its spacious wooden decks overlooking a creek. No rollercoaster, but no screaming kids either. Loved it!

We went on a date night to Backwoods and had the best time. Amy was a terrific waitress and made sure we had everything we needed on many occasions, always with a huge smile on her face and a welcoming attitude. The food and drinks were top notch as well - we will definitely be coming back!

Great atmosphere, beautiful scenery- personable staff- what more could you ask for? The food! The food is great, with perfect portions. Shout out for the Brisket cheesesteak (best I've ever had) and the fried pickles (who knew?!) Will def go back.

Food was absolutely spectacular. We definitely recommend the Mac and cheese to start, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the swordfish was incredible! This place has an awesome, warm atmosphere, perfect cocktails, and live music! We had a great time and our server, Matthew, was so friendly. 10/10!
