I had an emergency and was trying to quickly help my elderly mother and father-in-law with a toilet swap. Theirs had broken and I was searching nearby for a decent replacement toilet. I was able to get a hold of someone on the phone at Stanley's Hardware who let me know they had some nice in-stock items. I quickly drove to this location in a heavy downpour, frustrated from my failed attempts to fix the existing toilet, and was greeted by Ernie. Let me tell you, Ernie was THE ANSWER. This gentleman listened intently, took the time to show me the models that they had on display and installed in the men's bathroom, and explained the functionality of each. I settled on a Delta model and was afraid of just grabbing the box and driving it back, in this storm that was happening, and finding out that something was broken, which often happens with these products. Ernie calmly unpacked the components with me right on the sales floor, and then subsequently wrapped everything back up neatly, grabbed me a cart for the toilet, waited for me to check out at the register, and walked with me in the rain to my car to help me load the toilet into the back. His kindness will always be remembered and I will not hesitate to patronize this store b/c of that wonderful experience I had a few weeks ago before the holidays. I will also go on to say that everyone in the store was polite and patient...something that has somehow been lost in most retail environments in the past several years. 5 Stars is not enough for this commendation. This hardware store hast the best customer service, I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been coming here for the past six years, and each time I need help, someone takes care of my questions, or even print the reference of the item I’m looking for, in case they don’t have it, so I get the right one.

I don’t know what I would do without this place. The customer service is top notch. I’ve been a million times but most recently today I worked with Ernie to fix my sink and I’m just so thankful for his help and knowledge. He knew exactly what I needed and explained how to fix it every step of the way. He went above and beyond in many ways. The whole team is so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, everything you could wish for. The stock in store is great, too. Well organized and clean. Thank you, Stanleys!!!

The reviews are true. This place is a gem. I went in for some bathroom sink pipe parts, they had everything. But what made Stanley's True Value unbearable is their helpful and knowledgeable staff, because they really made my repair at home so much easier. Any place else and I probably would have had to come back.

Even more impressive, they didn't try to upset me. Big box stores don't do that of course, but they don't have the expertise these people have.

I really can't wait to go back. That's an unusual thing for me to say about a hardware store, but I think it was the combination of their expertise + no lines at the counter + they really are well stocked.

Awesome local store, friendly and helpful staff. They have a huge selection and usually have what I need every time. Great selection in hardware and electrical. We frequently need plating supplies like pots and dirt and have always found what we need here.

Favorite hardware store! Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. An employee by the name Will in hardware went above and beyond when I asked him about an issue I’m having with my exterior door. It’s experiences like this that make Stanley’s my first stop for building supplies. Thanks again Will!

Never, ever had a bad experience at Stanley's. Just an incredible shop with the friendliest and most knowledgable staff you'll find anywhere. Stop in once, and you'll come back. And not just because you forgot something the first time, just like every project ever.

Best service, staff very knowledgeable and helpful - many supplies and items for older row homes as well as new construction. If they don't have it they will oder it or even suggest alternatives.

Quite possibly my favorite hardware store. I’ve been going as long as I can remember, as as the owner of a painting company and a homeowner. Extremely attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a huge variety of tools and materials, plus decor, toys, and just about everything you can imagine. A real throwback to the old school hardware store.

Mark, the owner, is an AWESOME person. His store has just about everything you might need to complete your project, and his people in the store are knowledgeable and are willing to help you solve problems.

A True Hardware Store. Absolutely professional hardware people who know how to get things done and the best tools and hardware for the job. Best hardware store in the city or the counties. They are helpful, friendly, and don’t condescend.

This store is great, needed some screws and the staff was eager to help. The gentleman that helped me was so knowledgeable and kind. Will definitely be back for my hardware needs.

Hands down the best independent hardware store I've ever been to and one of the gems of Roxborough. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and ask you how they can help as soon as you walk in. Prices are a little more than a big box, but their selection for a smaller footprint is great. The parking lot can get full but there's more spaces back by the lumber barn, and street parking out front is always open.
They also do propane exchange, larger tool rentals, and make keys.

There is just something about the atmosphere in the small business owners ma and pa store and it is quite the feeling when you walk into Stanley's Hardware on Ridge Pike in Roxbourough. Here is to hoping the store can sustain a few more decades. There is a lot you can find here from brooms to recycle bins. Very friendly cashiers as well.

The BEST hardware store. Big enough to have everything you need, small enough to be able to find it. The staff are FANTASTIC. So helpful and friendly. Forget Home Depot or Lowe's. You'll get what you need here in seconds and be back on your way in no time!

The staff here is always friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are average but considering I don't need to drive far, I'm sure I'm saving in gas. My only complaint is the hours are not as long as the larger stores.

Update: As usual, the staff at True Value is amazing. I tried everything to get the old lock off my mailbox to replace it but it was stuck. I brought the entire door in and it seems the lock was installed in a way that required it to be grinded off. They took it into the back, got the lock off, and then made sure I purchased the correct lock and helped install it.

Update: I decided to add the fifth star because honestly, this place is great. I never have problems and they're even my go to for recommendations when I need a professional. My original complaint is still true, their hours are not as convenient as the big box stores, but they make up for it with their service.

What a great experience shopping here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I will repeat this, super friendly and helpful. It was the first time shopping there and was just greeted in such a friendly way that I needed to share. Came back again for other items the same day and experienced the same great service. Highly recommend this hardware store.
