The Castle, Black Rock

Our family's go-to place is The Castle, Black Rock. It all starts with the warm genuine Irish hospitality. It is charming to hear a few brogues while you are there too.

We started out with our usual favorite #BuffaloCauliflower as an appetizer. It comes with two dipping sauces... my husband likes the spicy one and I prefer the traditional blue cheese. For our entrees, my hubby had #SoleFranchise entree and I had #PenneAlaVodka. The penne dish has both chicken and sausage in it and fresh Parmesan cheese on top! It’s incredible that an Irish restaurant makes such great penne! Both absolutely delicious.

Both entrees were so big we had to get containers to take home. #Leftovers tomorrow for dinner so I get bonus points for getting dinner ready two nights in a row!

My wife and I visited the place on Mother’s Day for the first time and we had an amazing experience! Our food was a little delayed, but it was worth the wait! Gustaf did an amazing job, and our drinks were delicious. We live in Long Island, and we’re definitely going back!

We are in town from Pittsburgh visiting friends in Fairfield. They suggested we dine at The Castle. My husband is Gluten Free and unfortunately was not able to find anything on the menu. Our server, MARIA was so professional and patient. She said they have gluten free bread (which is so thin) and wraps but unfortunately they were out of them. We order the nachos (which were delicious) and were deciding what we wanted to order when the owner, Patrick approached and suggested to my husband the Castle Burger and that he could put on a GF wrap. When the wrap came to the table my husband was so impressed. He said it was beyond delicious.
I just wanted to express our sincere thanks to MARIA & PATRICK for their excellent attention given to my husband regarding his food and also MARIA’S phenomenal service. We hope to visit the next time we are here.

The entrance was a little confusing to find but once you do find it you get great service and food! Had the fish and chips. Best ever to be honest. Light and super crispy with wonderful flaky fish with crunchy perfect fries.

What a wonderful meal. My husband had the baked cod, which he loved, my daughter the chicken curry which was traditional and delicious. I had the Sole Francaise which was perfectly tender and melts in your mouth. Highly recommend you stop for a pint or a beverage from their fancy drink list

Awesome Irish pub. Ordered Bangers & Mash and was not disappointed. My wife had a steak and it came with the most amazing creamed spinach.

I took my gf here for NYE. The wait was a little longer than expected considering we had a reservation, but Patrick made sure to clear two spots for us at the bar as we waited for our table, I thought it was very accommodating of him and we appreciated it greatly. The atmosphere is awesome and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Bartender makes good drinks and the food is awesome. I grew up in a British/Irish household and this is definitely the real deal. I’m craving it again as I’m writing this review lol. Will definitely be back here again. Thanks again to Patrick and his great staff.

Always one of our favorite places to stop for lunch or dinner while visiting our daughter. Amazing staff with wonderful owners who are very engaged in the hospitality of the restaurant. Always accommodating and fun atmosphere.

Every time we go back to this pub we are greeted with the same level of excellent service and quality of food. It is such a fun place and great for watching sports!

First time visiting the Castle and had a great time. Thought about a burger but on the specials menu the swordfish risotto caught my eye, it was fantastic! Waitstaff took great care of our table, very personalble and made us feel at home. We will be back!

Awesome place, it doesn’t matter your age, you will definitely have fun and meet a lot of people there. If it’s packed the food can take some time, but it’s worth it!

The service is amazing! The owners treat everyone like VIPs making sure they're enjoying their food. The atmosphere is great for dining, especially during the holidays because it's decorated so nicely.

The onion soup was spectacular. The wife who usually picks around the onions emptied the entire bowl. Seafood melody had excellent flavor, everything cooked perfectly. Only comment would be that the bowl had a lot of liquid. I had the Sheppard pie. Fantastic flavor also. Finished the entire plate... not something I usually do at lunch. Great waiter.
