Hillside Cafe

My honey and I ate here for the first time on February 17. I can’t say enough good things!!! The food was fabulous - from the cream of crab soup, the crab cake, the filet - everything was outstanding. It was - hands down - the best crab cake I’ve ever had in my life!

Our server, Darlene, was also absolutely phenomenal. She was so very kind and attentive - and thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu and all of the restaurant’s offerings. She was sure to make sure we knew all of our options, and pointed out all aspects to make our meal completely satisfying.

We enjoyed our experience very much, and would recommend the Hillside Cafe to anyone looking for a fabulous meal!

Steaks served on a hot plate (amazing) and dinner rolls complimentary. Pastas are kinda bland but heck it's a steakhouse not Italian, and the service and atmosphere are phenomenal. Great selection of oldies and Christmas music, and our server Kaila gave us travel tips and was so lovely. Will absolutely come back in!

5 of us had decided to meet up here on a Saturday for dinner. Our server was Darla. She's a gem for sure! She rattled off the daily specials like there was going to be a test. She was very speedy and had the personality to boot! She was able to answer every question we had about the menu, and her suggestions were spot on. The kitchen staff must be amazing as well as our food was exactly as we ordered and was very tasty. We all had drinks from the bar to start, which has a great list. Appetizers followed. We had a crab pretzel (all in-house made), mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, crab stuffed mushrooms, chili, a crock of French onion soup and bacon cheese fries. All were yummy and hot. Another round of drinks, sorry, I can't remember what all everyone had as we kept changing up. A basket of warm dinner rolls and butter were delivered right before our main entrees were served. I had their house special with a crab cake and filet and 2 sides. The crab cake had no fillers (except the needed and flavor). My steak was ordered medium rare and came out just as so. Someone got the stuffed flounder and said it was delicious. One couple got the dinner for 2 and ended up with a doggie bag as they were stuffed! They said it was delicious. The last person got the crab cake with a porterhouse and claimed it was outta this world! Another round of drinks and onto dessert. We chose cheese cake with caramel drizzle and bacon, peanut butter pie, triple chocolate cake, carrot cake, and sadly, I can't remember what the last selection was. Everyone was satisfied and stuffed, but not too stuffed for a hot adult beverage. We will all definitely be back, together, or separate.

The best cream of crab soup. Had 4 homemade varieties of soups! Fish n chips was stellar. Music was great. Homemade salad dressings!
Entirely too full for dessert. Wanted to come back!

We had a 75th birthday party hosted here. The waitress was very attentive and personable. Food was great and we had a wonderful time closing the place down. Thank you to the staff and owner for a great time and atmosphere.

Stopped by, after skiing at RoundTop. Our waiter was terrific! The cream of crab soup and the Bay Burger were delicious.

Now that was a real crab cake!!! Baltimore native approved!!! Service and staff were great!

Amazing all around. Appletini was made perfect each time. The meals were cooked very well. Including the steak. Asked for medium, got medium.

Was seated as soon as I walked in, service was very friendly, drinks great, food was great as well. Ill be back!

Love this place. Little gem. DJ, Donna and Aunt Margaret keep doing what you're doing, this is why we consistently come back. Oh and the crab cakes are the best in the area! 💥

I was driving up 83 from York and saw a sign for this cafe. The sign featured 2 of my favorites - steak and sea food. I got off 83 and drove there. I was a little disappointed when I saw a sign on the building "sports bar" which I usually associate with beer and burgers. I was surprised with the menu . I ordered the broiled cod with a baked potato and a tossed salad. I could not eat all of the food. The portion of cod was too much for me to eat at one setting. The salad was also large. The food was excellent. The service was great and the atmosphere was inviting and cozy. I will definitely stop at this cafe again when I am in the area. If you stop here you won't be disappointed.

Jim was an excellent server. Very good food. EXCELLENT STEAK. Honestly, it was the best steak I have eaten at a restaurant in 15 years!!!!! Looking forward to visiting again

We were in shortly after they re opened and were not impressed with the steak and crabcake meal. Some of the other menu items were good and we would visit the bar occasionally for specials, and did not have one complaint. We finally decided after hearing a lot of people saying good things about their meals, mostly the hillside, or house specials that we would give it another go. We were very impressed with our steaks and seafood. Hillside Cafe has redeemed themselves.

We go to Hillside often for dinner with friends. The owner George is a great guy, the food is very, very good and the wait staff is always friendly and attentive.

This place is the bomb!!!!! Mom's 88 birthday and they gave us our own room. Staff efficient and cordial....we had a blast. ok so I have some pics. Oh almost forgotten.... cake and steak was soooooooooooo wonderful. Also wundeschon ☺

All lump blue crabmeat in Hillside's crabcake sandwich. Superb food and drinks at very reasonable prices. We moved to the area recently and Hillside is our favorite dining spot. We prefer to eat in the bar but the dining room is nice for quieter conversations. Daily specials are an even greater value. Both bar and dining room are popular and suitable for families.

My husband and I, along with two friends, ate at the Hillside Cafe on July 19th, and had a wonderful dinner there, along with great service from Darlene. Not only is she an excellent waitress with a wonderful personality, but more importantly, she is extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I would say the Hillside is very lucky to have her!

My friend and I stopped here for dinner and I'm glad we did! Skipping appetizers we just ordered entrees and had drinks at the bar. The crab cake was absolutely delicious and made my favorite way with more crab meat rather than filling. It seemed a little pricey, but for the amount of crab meat you receive, it's justified. We both ordered wine with our meals which were reasonably priced and good! Parking is plentiful. I would recommend stopping in for the crab cakes!

We had our Valentines Day dinner here and the service was excellent, food was delicious. We had steak dinners. Very friendly staff. Very clean and decorated with beautiful pictures. Loved all the pictures. Definitely will go back. Our waitress Darlene was Awesome...
