Froggy Bottom Guitars

About a year ago, I stumbled across a 2004 Froggy Bottom Model K Koa when visiting Nashville. I played it for about 1 minute before realizing I wasn’t going to leave the store without this guitar. I have 3 Martins (two are 42’s), a Gibson LG2 and a short scale cutaway Bourgois, all beautiful guitars. However, my daily go to is the Froggy Bottom. If you haven’t played a Froggy, you have no idea what your missing!

I have owned a Froggy Bottom guitar which I custom ordered in 2000 and bought a second preowned model F a year later. I will never sell these guitars. The custom ordered guitar is my daily player. After playing guitar for 50years, classical and steel string, I have played many many guitars. These guitars are top quality handmade instruments made by makers who specialize in custom and individualized guitars. If it is possible, Froggy Bottom can do it. Most importantly they listen carefully to the aspirations of the player and in discussion with the player are able to identify exactly how to build the instrument to achieve specific goals which in my case were perfectly on target. The new guitars are as good as they have ever been in the 30+ years history of the company. Call them, visit them, play as many as you can find.

I am shocked that there are only three reviews here. I have owned my Froggy H12 (Madi with an old, old German top) for a year now. The voice, responsiveness, tone and sustain of this instrument is like no other that I have every played (and I played a lot of major small shop builders looking for that special guitar). And getting to know the team that made my guitar was an other experience like no other. Michael and his team are modern Stradivarians. There must be some kind of magic dust that is sprinkled about in the process. The smile that spreads across my face every time tickle her strings is priceless to me. Truly changed my musical life. If you are reading this while considering bringing a special instrument into your life, take the time to take a close look at Froggy.

I am very fortunate to have one of the few Froggy Bottom Guitars in the UK. It is an astonishingly responsive, full, balanced, distinctive & loud guitar, with layers of subtlety and variation that other top guitars don't have. It is like nothing else I have ever tried or heard. I loaned it to the late Maart Alcock, whose work included Jethro Tull & Fairport Convention and who had several Stefan Sobell instruments. After playing it for a short while, he wrapped his arms around the body and proclaimed "it's mine"

I waited 20 years to finally buy a Froggy Bottom...an amazing amazing guitar.....filled with so much and sound. I might get rid of all my other ones because they won't get played. And these guys hear you and direct you to right model wood etc etc etc....worth the wait.
