Ordered Spicy general Tso’s chicken and wings. Food was very tasty and well cooked. Portion was visually smaller than typical Chinese places. Prices seems to be a bit lower as well.

I've decided to try to find a good Chinese restaurant in the area. I pass this place all the time when leaving from the grocery store. You could easily miss the place, being so tucked in on the little part of the street that not too many people go down. But maybe that's what attracted me to it. Sometimes it's the hole in a wall place that have the most lit food. Unfortunately, that was but the case with this one.
I'll give the good first. Right off the bat I noticed the place is immaculately clean. The floors, the rug, the chairs and tables. By far one of the cleanest eatery I've been in. I even took video! Next, the staff was quick to greet me and take my order. I asked if they had mooshu, to which the lady said yes. I ordered my go to, mooshu shrimp. She asked if I wanted pancakes or rice. That threw me off because I've never had to choose. It's a dish that always comes with both. In all the years, cities, restaurants that I've purchased this, it's come with both. She said it'll be extra. Okay wth... I'll pay the extra.
I ordered fried dumplings and an eggroll as well. I sat and waited. The young girl ringing me up was so polite and congenial. You can tell this is a family business. Love, love, love that.
So I got home. Was happy to see a small little bag of warm, fresh fried wonton! I love those.
The bad -
Tried the dumplings first. Gummy! The dough wrap was just thick and chewy. Reminded me of the japanese mochi. also, the sauce for the dumplings was thick and not the tangy umami flavor you'd expect with dumplings. At first I thought maybe I'd opened the Hoison sauce for the mooshu, but nope, I saw that one in the bag still. The sauce looked and tasted more like a brown gravy.
Took a bite of the egg roll. Again, the crust was just kinda thick. I don't know what they are using, but stop!
Put my rice in the bowl, topped it with my mooshu, mixed in my hoison sauce. It was good. The veggies are cut very thin, like angel hair pasta, which I didn't really like. I prefer it rough cut. This thin, you risk it getting a mushy texture. This was right on the brink. The rice was nice and well cooked. But the shrimp.. some were OKAY, and others were kinda mushy. I mean, over cooked shrimp is usually hard and rubbery, these were just too soft.
I don't know. I really was hoping to strike gold with this place. And the people were so nice, and the store so clean, it would have been perfect. But unfortunately, I won't be going back unless I hear otherwise from others.

Nastiest food I had in a long time. I’m new to Fairfield and decided to stop here one night. The lady at the front was extremely rude when I was asking questions about how they prepare the food. However, the other female there was quite pleasant when cashing me out.The menu says a different price for dinner special than they charge. She also only gave me 2 spoons of rice with my general tso chicken. I will definitely never go here again. New China wok is definitely the most clean and best tasting Chinese food in Fairfield. Never go to this place!!!! I wish I took a photo of the $13 dinner special plate !!!
