Trattoria 'A Vucchella & Wood Oven Pizza

We ve been dining here since they opened . If you re looking for an authentic experience then we highly recommend this charming place. The food has that authentic homemade quality, the staff treat you truly as guests making you feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly , repeat customers are greeted from across the room by name . We’ve celebrated birthdays ( I can’t say enough about an amazing private family party we attended) , anniversaries, reunions with friends and rainy day afternoons getaways , and quick squeeze a dinner in before a local show . The owner Pasquale personally oversees and and tends to every aspect of the experience along with a staff that seem like family. We love it there.

Wow! What an amazing experience all around! From service to food everything exceeded our expectations! We were unsure of what to start with so the chef came out offered a few suggestions and made us a selection of appetizers to start which were out of this world. He then came back out an offered a few suggestions for family style entree so we could experience a little bit of everything. You could really tell how much they love and enjoy food and entertaining guests. We can't wait to go back!

Went here after looking up the reviews and our first impressions were good. There is street parking but on a Friday night it is likely going to be packed. Fortunately there is a parking garage right next door.

The decor of the restaurant is vibrant, full of art and vintage photographs. The atmosphere feels modern and intimate. The owners are on site and very welcoming to customers.

We ordered a selection of dishes: lasagna, gnocchi, risotto, Margherita pizza, meatballs... all were cooked to perfection. The pasta was fresh and delicious and the food came out at a great pace.

We ended the night with an order of homemade tiramisu which was worth every calorie along with a light strawberry gelato which ended the evening perfectly. This was our first visit but won't be our last!

Amazing experience. From the warm greeting to the excellent service, this felt like we mattered. The food was exceptional, tasty drinks, and very reasonable prices. So glad a friend brought us here!

My friends and I visited today. We tried nine different items from the menu, and every single dish was amazing. Excellent service and great atmosphere. The owner served us personally, and he couldn't be nicer. We'll be going back soon!

I absolutely love this restaurant. We celebrated our anniversary there. The Papardelle with mushrooms & black truffle was perfectly balanced, the Veal melt in your mouth!!!! A great ambiance and we felt like we were transported to Sorrento!

Walked in here unexpectedly with a group of 25 adults and children in between youth hockey games. They took us right away and set us up with a great family style meal. The food is fantastic and the staff is great!

A Vucchella is where locals eat and everyone knows each other (or someone in your family) it's clean, chic, uncluttered, and with a well curated selection of Italian wines.
We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by owner/chef Pasquale Dr Martini and his lovely wife Jennifer Galleti and by others sitting at the bar enjoying after work drinks and food.
It's a place straight out of small town Italy, friendly, warm and were conviviality exist without barriers.
The food: a perfect example of Italian food, uncomplicated as it should be.

Service was great . Food was fantastic . Bread served before your meal with extra virgin olive oil , always a great touch . Tried a few pasta dishes and one was better than the next . But wait till the in house made tiramisu … to die for . Go try it and enjoy .

This my second review after I got a personal tour of the wood burning oven that came from Italy. Not just any brick oven will do for this place. Pasquale explained the way the bricks absorb the heat vs reflect which, when combined with the dough with flour from Italy (of course) you get a pizza (among other dishes) that make you want to cry! Love this place!

Perfect in every way. Wine and cocktail selection, staff attentive and welcoming. Delicious menu. Definitely a must visit.

The absolute BEST Italian food I have EVER had. To boot it had excellent pricing and a very pleasant ambiance.

Best pizza in Fairfield county! Pizza here is similar to Zeneli's in New Haven (4.9 rating on Google Reviews) which is usually my go-to place. If you're looking for authentic Italian pizza don't bother going to any other place in the area. (pictures show the broccoli rabe and vegetarian pizza)

I could write a book about how wonderful this restaurant is, but for this review, a few words will suffice: Delicious food and wonderful people!!!!

The entire staff were very warm, accommodating and friendly; a real family feel. The food was superb. A slight wait for the entrees, but the quality,preparation and presentation were terrific and well worth the wait. The wine selection includes a number of regions that you don't normally see, and is exceptionally good. A trattoria is , by nature, not the Ritz. It is more family style. If you want crystal salt and pepper shakers, New York is only a short ride away. But if you want good, well prepared genuine Italian fare, you will come away wanting to return..

Excellent lunch stop before we got on the Bridgeport ferry! Two of us had the brick oven pizza and one had the meatballs and salad. All 3 meals were great! Very nice atmosphere and we were able to get one of the two front window tables.

Love everything about this place. The food is sublime and wine list tantalizing. The decor is bright and relaxing at the same time. The presence of Pasquale, Concetta and all those whose names I do not recall offer the warmest, most inviting atmosphere. We had a lovely dinner we had here before the concert last night. The owner Pasquale was very nice and helpful with our wine choice. Our waitress Conchetta was very busy but her service and suggestions were excellent. Our bus boy Atin (and can't remember other boys name) were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! If we are ever back in that area, we would visit again.
