Chef Luis Restaurant

We recently had a great meal at Chef Luis! Something cool that they have on their menu are these tortilla cups that the chef fills with all kinds of different things - some of our personal favorites were the lomo saltado and birria taco cups! He even did berries and cream in them for dessert! We also really enjoyed the Italian quesadilla and scallops we had that evening. The staff and chef are super friendly and welcoming!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable. Chef Luis even came out and spoke to us and gave us a complimentary dessert. It was heavenly. I live in New Haven, but the drive to New Canaan was worth it. I will definitely go back.

Amazing food from Chef Luis. Tried veggie taco 🌮 last week those were amazing.
This week we were surprised by fresh and delicious Veggie stir fry platter.
We tried lots of places but Chef Luis beats everyone else with better taste and freshness of food.

The place is under appreciated in town. The menu is the most versatile around and it’s always great. Casual and delicious. Great spot for food with the family or a few cocktails any time of day..don’t judge.

We were visiting New Canaan from the UK with my in-laws who lived there 30 years ago. We found Chef Luis’ and am so glad we did. The service was fantastic from Chef Luis son, who even made my fiancé lemonade after the sprite syrup ran out. The food was so good, the best we had all week even in the city. We’ll certainly be back next time we’re in New York!

Came around 330pm with our two young children. Welcomed us warmly without a reservation, great service, everything tasted great, fairly priced, even brought us a complimentary dessert because they were a little busy setting up for their reservations for the evening. 10/10 recommend.

Five stars across the board for one of our favorite places!! Ambiance is super comfortable and relaxed. You won’t find friendlier service. The cocktails are scrumptious and the food is delicious!

Truly jaw dropping! I would recommend chef Luis to be for sure the first stop for dinning in new Canaan. Service is first class and the chef is constantly checking in to make sure you are happy. Food…. Omg so freaking good. I come here every time I come back to town. You will love it too ❤

SO SO GOOD!!! Everything was so great— from the ambience, to the service, to the food. Quick wait time and amazing employees! I had the best veggie fajitas ever and my boyfriend had the chicken fajitas which he loved. Not to mention how good our drinks were 🤤 15/10

I love Chef Louis! It’s my go to place, always the first restaurant I think of when asked where to go. Such great ownership and staff. Best tacos around.

Tasty food and great service at chef Luis in New Canaan Connecticut. The muscles with amazing sauce and cus cus was definitely the star of the show. Tuna tartare is definitely a must have And you can't go wrong with any combinations of tacos. we have also tried the salmon. Portions are are right sized they are filling but not oversized. Overall great experience

This is perhaps one of the best Indian restaurants I have patronized in Fairfield County. Chef Luis is doing something special with wonderful flavors and a great presentation. Superb flavors delicately prepared. It was as if we were served in the restaurant but it was take out, which is a real feat. Came out perfect. Definitely going back!

Delicious seafood and chicken entree. We really are food enthusiasts and I go everywhere for quality food. Decent service overall. Cooked well and the way we asked, promptly arrived. Would like more specials such as salmon risotto or a good fried calamari but overall really good.

What can be said other than this is great food done right. Luis is a Maestro and truly one of the best in the area. Get the calamari and have a glass of wine. Sit. Relax. Enjoy.

Fantastic. We had such a nice night having dinner at the bar. The food was really delicious and the menu had something for everyone, and more.
Gabe, our bartender, was attentive and personable. We really enjoyed his company and recommendations.
Chef Luis has put together a great menu with a wide range of dishes and his passion for food and happy eating really shines.
I recommended ordering a cocktail and something out of your norm on the menu, you won’t be disappointed.

Heard that Chef Luis had re-established his namesake restaurant and was excited to revisit after a several year hiatus. In short: WOW!! The food and experience was terrific. I had the fajitas, which were super flavorful and my wife and friends each had the tacos (chicken, beef, and shrimp). They were all delicious and to a person everyone said that this would be their go-to place for tacos (among other entrees). Luis paid a visit to each table and his enthusiasm and passion for his restaurant was palpable. Really enjoyed the experience and so glad Chef Luis is back in action!!

We discovered Chef Luis recently and have had many meals there since then. The salads are exquisite, the burgers are like you never had a burger before, we're working through the Sunday brunch menu ... everything is delicious and the service is so friendly!!

Chef Luis is a great guy. My girlfriend and I just stumbled on to this town and came to eat here and Chef Luis came out to say hi and gave us an appetizer on the house. Such a nice guy. It turns out that the calamari was one of my girlfriend's favorite meals while visiting the States. She loved it. We both had a mix of food and some really good wine.

The atmosphere here is very comfortable and full of locals, but everyone was very nice. Not pretentious as you might expect with a local joint.

I can't wait to come back to New Canaan and this will be the first place we stop to eat when we do. Thanks Chef Luis!!!
