Truly BEST ever eggplant! I just took two full sized trays back with us to Cape Cod. One for us and one for a friend who used to live in CT! All we've had there is great but the eggplant is heavenly. Happy the orig owners are back. Staff so friendly, efficient and accomodating! Thank you

Great Italian food!! Hot or cold, take-out dinners, sandwiches, grinders, all types of salads & etc. They also offer catering for your special event. Their eggplant parm dinner is awesome, along with their homemade meat lasagna dinner & the sauce is fabulous; our family loves Mattei's. It's the Go-To stop for a great dinner to take home & enjoy. If you like my review & Mattei's please give me a thumbs up.

There is never a negative comment when I serve food from Mattei's at home or when I bring it to parties. The owners, as well as their employees are great. Everyone expects Mattei's eggplant at our Christmas get togethers.

I've been going here since they opened and it has always been amazing! Moved out of CT (best move ever) and heard they retired and had someone new running the place into the ground, sorry to hear that but recently heard Dennis was back - WOOHOO!!! Has to be in CT this month and of course had to stop - FOOD WAS AS AMAZING AS IT EVER WAS, big thanks to Dennis for coming back!

Best eggplant Parm hands down.

I got eggplant parm with meat sauce for a 4th of July party. It's always a hit. I bought some chicken cutlets to take home for Mom and I. Fabulous.

Staff is so awesome and friendly. Eggplant parm is the best in CT without a doubt.

My friend’s mom’s boyfriend brought this to the beach. The eggplant was UNBELIEVABLE. We also had the chicken parm and ravioli, which were also great. But you have to get the eggplant. Thank you, Grace!

Best eggplant parm in all of CT!

The food is absolutely fresh as well as delicious!!! The steak and cheese sub is the best and will make you salivate every time you think of eating one. Soups and pasta dishes are well seasoned and very flavorful. The staff is extremely friendly. Mattei's is truly a gem in the Valley.

Always fresh and delicious with recipes you will enjoy over and over. In particular we love their eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, escarole with tortellini and meatball soup, allll the sandwiches. Reasonable prices, generous portions, and friendly service. Doesn't get better than that!

This place is wonderful. It’s very tiny inside but we’ve only ever ordered their catering so it’s never been an issue. My family is obsessed with their eggplant parm! We order it for everyone’s birthday celebrations. Highly highly recommend!

Yesterday we picked up our hot trays of roast beef with gravy, eggplant and boneless baked chicken. It was delicious! Mattei's has never disappointed us. Thank you!
