Pizzeria Sassano

First time under new owners. Ordered the Chicken Pesto pizza with mushrooms. Have to say it was very tasty. It was done ontime when I picked up.the box was heavier than I recall from first owners...just an observation. When I got home and opened the box, the pie was a little folded over as it was slightly larger than the box. To me, I've ever have seen this. So, it's a plus, but not an expectation. I felt the price was worth it. Nice job.

My first visit to Pizzeria Sassano and was very pleased with the mushroom pizza that I ordered for take out. Wanted to try this place after reading about it in this month’s CT magazine article on top pizza places. They offer grinders and other Italian inspired dishes as well. Pizzas come either as red or white and offer several for vegetarians. Looking forward to going back and trying some other dishes.

I ordered a Margarita Pizza tonight from Sassano. I had’t been there for a long time and was surprised there is a new owner since last October. He’s very pleasant and enjoys being in South Glastonbury. Got home, we ate the pizza and WOW, it was delicious! A perfect thin crust covered with mozzarella, tomatoes, olives and mushrooms. As good as it gets! I called to let him know how much we enjoyed it. I’ll be back for more! And I hope he does very well here.

I was surprised when we got there, looks like a super typical town-y pizza place tucked in a somewhat dingy plaza. The inside is bright, clean, and not at all what I expected. The service was friendly and very fast. There was a steady stream of patrons but staff kept up well, all seemed to be having a good time. The meatballs in vodka sauce were delicious. Fettuccini Carbonara was flavorful and well balanced. I personally would have had more sauce, but I will just request that for next time. Ravioli are huge and generously stuffed. Highly recommended for a high quality Italian experience in an unassuming location.

Another find from a google search. This very hidden and out of the way restaurant in a little plaza is a diamond in a haystack. Super friendly server and customers. John (local farmer and in the picture on the wall) dines here about three times a week and highly suggested a few items that we ordered and enjoyed. We started with garlic cheese bread and house salad. I had the carne amore (meat lover’s) and my wife had the white mushroom pizza. I ended the meal with the most delicious apple bread pudding. I highly suggest if you are in the area. Edit November 4, 2018. We really enjoy this place and now working on our third Sunday in a row. Trying a new local root beer from Foxon Park. Plus, I ordered the mushroom pizza and added pepperoni to make a “perfect” pizza for me.

This is hands down the tastiest pizza in Gbury! Thin crust, great sauce and toppings IE sausage, meatball so delicious. If you like new haven pie this is similar without the char.

Everyone knows about Sassano’s amazing pizza and grinders, but I want to bring attention to the DELICIOUS cannoli we had last night. Atmosphere is fun & friendly. Don’t miss out on this diamond in the rough!

Awesome food! Great, family run,mainly Italian, restaurant. Creative, unique food selections,made from scratch. Pizza is great, as are main dishes and salads. Nightly specials. Nice beer selection which includes craft beers.

We ordered heart-shaped pizzas and a salad for Valentine’s Day and they were absolutely delicious. Truly amazing toppings & crust is some of the best we’ve had. The owner and staff were so friendly. They even made my gluten free pizza heart shaped for me too which I really appreciated!

Delicious food, very good beer and homemade tiramisu. Highly appreciate friendly staff.

Always a pleasure eating here. Whether we dine in or grab food to go they are always great.

Very casual, tucked away, yummy pizza. Wish they had a non- alcoholic beer. But the mushroom pie was our favorite!

My family and I have been ordering from Pizzeria Sassano every few weeks for nearly 6 months now. They have the best pizzas in the area hands down. There's usually a great ratio of ingredients on the pie. There have been maybe 1 or 2 nights where the sauce was slightly low, but the nights where it's perfect far outweigh the off nights. Great salads, a nice rotation of weekly specials (the stuffed mushrooms and short rib ravioli are my particular favorites) and friendly staff make this a must do if you're in the neighborhood. Don't miss this place!

I don't agree!!Pizzeria Sassano, has the Very Best pizza in Connecticut and all of New England for that matter including New York City !!!It's so delicious, sauce, crust ,cheese ,toppings!!I highly recommend this Pizzeria ...! Exceptional experience with staff aswell, friendly as I had a take out order and got to visit for a few minutes!! Will definitely make this my go to pizza place for all sporting events!! 😋

What a nice place. I almost missed this one but got lucky and stopped in. I ordered the carbonara pie and the garlic knots. Both were very good! The staff were friendly and added to the experience with some great conversation. What's unique here is the owners tie in with local farms. Ingredients are superior. A good meal and a fun time. Been living in Glastonbury for 3 years and did not even know about this place. Tried it for the first time today. Ordered large pepperoni and 2 gluten free small pizzas. The pepperoni was just about perfect and the gluten free people liked theirs. Crispy crust just the way I like it. My new favorite pizza stop in Glastonbury.

Beyond excellent service! We had slight mix up with one of our dishes, and the owner and staff were amazing in resolving it. The food was delicious! The bread is made in house and is indescribable. We will definitely be back!!!
