Zen Gardens

We rely on Zen Gardens to make us a delicious take-out dinner when we're overwhelmed. Their food is so yummy we always order extra so we have lunch the next day. They are quick and responsive; there's rarely a long wait like there is at the pizza places. And the food is so much better!

They offer both American Chinese food and the more traditional authentic dishes. What we love most is their full vegetarian menu. If you don't see it, ask. Their vegan options are absolutely fabulous. Fresh, tender, flavorful.

They were takeout only for a while, but are serving meals at tables again. I was there Friday evening and the place was pretty much empty. What a shame. The food is really good, especially if you like spicy. .But they will honor a clear request for "mild. There veggies are excellent quality and cooked to perfection, i.e. not overcooked." Meats tend to be much leaner than other Asian restaurants. The prices are inflating some, but not compared to other local eateries or convenience store takeout.

Our family's favorite Chinese takeout in the area. Some amazing vegetarian options; great portions; lo mein is excellent. Service is always kind and warm. Online ordering is easy and efficient. Everything I need when providing a meal for my family that I don't have to cook!

Delicious lunch specials, including the best Hot and Sour soup I have ever tasted. Fast and friendly service, nice heat level to the Hunan Pork.

Greattttttt Chinese food!! While staying in the area, we wanted late night Chinese. We got take out to bring back to our hotel and Zen Gardens hit the spot! They have a nice selection of mock meats and regular. The veggie spring rolls were crispy, fresh and massive! Vegan gen tsos mock meat dish was amazing! Everything was hot, fresh, large portions & the staff was great! Great spot for Chinese food on a late night during our vacation! Check this place out!

This was one of my go-to spots for Chinese food when I lived in the Burlington area. Because of the pandemic, I mostly got takeout, but I did get to enjoy a few sit-down meals there before moving away. It's a really nice space inside, and the staff are very friendly.

The menu offers both American Chinese favorites as well as some more traditional fare (emphasis on Taiwanese and Sichuanese). Never ordered anything I didn't like.

Despite living in the area for over 2 decades, I had never been to this restaurant before. I'm glad I decided to stop in for dinner with my mom and step dad though! The pan fried noodles with pork was very salty, but definitely filled my craving. The dumplings are amazing! Cold sesame noodles are another of my go to and they were delicious! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.

We were delightfully surprised by this small Chinese restaurant in Burlington! We ordered traditional favorites and drinks. Our server was very fast and nice to interact with, our food was flavorful and tasty and the food was fresh- a hallmark of Vermont. Nice decor, straight forward menu. Extra thanks to our gentleman server. Ignore that its in a strip mall- its awesome

Tucked away off of Shelburne road, this place is a hidden gem that deserves recognition. Lovely indoor atmosphere. Great service, menu, and prices. We were surprised when our "spicy" dishes weren't spicy. Will have to ask for more heat next time. Pictured here are Hunan beef, Singapore noodles, and eggplant with basil. Veggies were cooked perfectly! Next time you're craving Chinese, get it here :)

Enjoy dining here. Highly recommend the dishes on the last page. Taste genuine. A lot of options for vegetarian.

Phenomenal vegetarian options, highly recommend the Mork Chicken with Garlic Sauce. The service was fantastic as well; they were all welcoming and kind as well as very fast service. The food came out super quick and hot; great for the price.

Very yummy food would recommend the Pineapple Double Wonder. It’s so good

I just had the best vegetable friend rice of my life. The only thing that was missing was a diving board, because I wanted to dive into the container and eat my way out of it. Shout out to the chef, I respect your skills. Very clean tasting, not greasy. Don’t hesitate to order the friend rice.

This was our first time back in a long time, and I found it a completely satisfying experience. Simple things like the filling for the Crab Rangoon and the broth for the wonton soup were notably better than I've had in other restaurants. I had the Amazing Chicken (I had to try it with a name like that). It was listed as spicy, but I found it bland.... until the sneaky spice kicked in. Really good food, nice atmosphere to sit, eat and talk.

Fabulous meal! We ordered a variety of food to share and it was all wonderful!!!!

The food and service was excellent! The General Tso's was breaded to perfection, light and airy, not too dense. The Lo Mein was some of the best I've ever had! We will definitely be revisiting this hidden gem!

On the last page of menu is an excellent authentic Chinese menu. The clay pot casserole dishes are always great. Splurged and have the Peking duck!

The outside of the building definitely doesn't represent the inside well. The inside looks very clean and presentable. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's a hidden gem for sure!

This was our first time eating at zen gardens and it was amazing! The food was great, our server was great she was very friendly and nice. I definitely recommend if you haven’t gone to zen gardens then you should!!

All I had To-Go was a Hot n Sour Soup, but it was amazing. Up there in my Top 5 all time
and I’ve had 100s of different ones. Usually it’s a taste of great things to come. I will definitely be back for more and try the rest of the menu! Thank you! Great work!! Crispy Noodles are perfect and fresh as well! You nailed it. I know it’s just soup, but everyone does it different I swear and it’s hit or miss each time!
