Had the most delightful experience at Cafe Mediterraneo. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for our evening. Special thanks to Domenic, Deborah, Ava, Yvonne, and Emily for going above and beyond to make our Valentine's Day dinner unforgettable. Despite a mistake on our end with the reservation, they graciously accommodated us and ensured that we had a wonderful dining experience.
The ambiance of Cafe Mediterraneo is charming and inviting, with cozy seating and tasteful decor that transports you to the Mediterranean coast. The menu offers a delectable array of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, each expertly prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients. We started our meal with the bruschetta, which was bursting with vibrant flavors and served on perfectly toasted bread. For our main course we had a gnocchi dish with house made sauce and chicken Marsala , a true masterpiece of culinary artistry.
To top it all off, we enjoyed a decadent dessert special of the night a strawberry cake that was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Throughout our dining experience, the staff at Cafe Mediterraneo provided impeccable service, ensuring that every aspect of our evening was flawless. I can't recommend Cafe Mediterraneo highly enough (we come everytime we’re in Portsmouth) for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience in Portsmouth. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving exceptional cuisine, this charming restaurant is sure to exceed your expectations. This place was so yummy, clean, and fast. They have a kids menu which was great. My kids ate up the French fries, nuggets, and pita grilled cheese. The gyro was delicious. We also got a falafel platter and it was great and tons of food. The rice that came with the platter was so good… my mom and I ate it up. It was simple but delicious. The food was so fresh and the people were so nice. They also have tons of fun Mediterranean goodies you can shop for. So glad we stopped by!

Authentic! Come here to get dinner but also there is a large selection of unique grocery goods from the Mediterranean area. Every time I go I make it a point to try something new and something I want to have again.

The gyros are so good and the fries are great, the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend trying this place for dining in or take out.

Absolutely the best Greek salad! Lots of really fresh ingredients. I don't care for the oil dressing....so I just use my own at home. Delicious baklava!!!

Ordered Gyro bar as catering for my gender reveal backyard gathering. The food was absolutely delicious and the quantity received was more than enough. Most attendees went up for seconds. Everything from the bread, meats (gyro, chicken & ćevapi), rice, salad, taziki sauce, and to the hummus was so flavorful. Lastly the service was professional and right on time.

The new location is awesome. The decor and dine in seating is pleasant modern bistro style. The best gyros in the area and a must go-to place for lunch if you work in Essex. I love the gyro on the traditional roll.... It is huge and the roll is perfect compliment and pushes the goodness to next level 😁.

First time going by last night and wow was it great! Amazing homemade hummus. Salad was great with fresh ingredients. Meals were to die for. I can’t rave enough about the food. Limited seating so be aware if dining in but a lot of people were doing take out. Have to try if you haven’t

Don't let the location fool you this is a tasty cafe. This is quality gyro, hummus, and falafel. I suggest the gyro,chicken, and falafel combo. Be hungry because it'll fill you up. Top it off with their tzatziki sauce.

Excellent Mediterranean food -- this is where to get your fix!

Falafel pita and gyro pita are my go-to favorites.

A secret about this place . . . They serve the best fries in town. There's just Something about them. You'll have to try them for yourself. Iykyk

And if course I always leave with some baklava!

The food is consistent. Portions are large. And while there may be a bit of wait they are always trying their best so be aware of that.

I love ordering from here. The food is fresh and tasty. I love their rice and tzatziki, the only thing I wish is having more tzatziki with the order.

But overall, FANTASTIC food. I am always excited to order food from them! I highly recommend trying this place!

Consistently delicious Mediterranean food. I get takeout from here quite often. Good food to price ratio. Always hot and ready when I come to pick it up. Minimal seating options, but I've never tried a sit down experience. Just good food.

The food is sooo delicious!!! Wish I lived closer, I would eat here ALL the time if i could. Reasonably priced, beautifully served, delicious food.

great ćevapi (10 sausages and two delicious pieces of Somun/bread)...satisfies this Bosnian guy lol. gyro pita was absolutely amazing i dont know what else to say it was just really damn good. baklava is delicious and so are the meat platters (you get good portions of meat as well). cozy spot and the workers and owner are great :-)

Delicious food!! Super quick service, clean interior and rest room. Amazing falafel. Will be returning next time in the area!!!
