Great DI. They turned couches and took steps to stop people from lingering and sitting. I liked that. Good selection. If you have been to DI before this one is on par with others, even had the same smell they all do haha.

Dolores was a great cashier, she was very kind & careful with the breakables we decided to take home with us. Thank you for employing someone with that level of forethought!

I found the prices to be low relative to what I am used to in Colorado. The store is clean and well organized. My cashier David was exceedingly kind. Most importantly, I overheard a beautiful conversation between a manager (I assume) and a young woman with special needs. Apparently she had lost her DI bucks. The manager was reassuring, kind, and respectful toward her.

We had so much fun at the Murray Deseret Industries Thrift Store and Distribution Center we thought we would stop at a second one on our way home. Same neat and clean well taken care of store. This store is not as big, even though it is pretty big. Once again all the employees we talked to were super nice. Often thrift stores find it a major challenge to keep their store neat and clean. Deseret puts the time in to do it. I really appreciate that.

We dropped off a bunch of stuff today. They were so organized and helpful. Very friendly staff. Much better than my experiences with other donation centers.

Wow!...There was actually a line of people waiting for the store to open. To my amazement it's because the quality of the material sold are so good and the Staff is quite wonderful indeed 👍 you'd be very surprised of how much great things you can get for a very small price. I am so thankful for this organization and the Church they represent 🙏

What I bought was a fair price . Would shop here again. This location was Circuit city electronics in the past I loved Circuit city . I think the church owns D. I. I love the church. Let's keep the worker's employed by shopping here.

I love shopping at the Sugarhouse Deseret Industries. It is always an adventure. I always find some fun things at great prices. My wife has decorated our house with things she found there for a few dollars. I always find a book or two to buy. The employees are always friendly and helpful.

It's my favorite location cause I only have to take one bus. Since Covid, we can't try clothes on. I try to be helpful and put pants back. None of your employees seem annoyed if I just give them back in a pile. They do it with a smile and to me, that's the most important thing.

UPDATE: I changed it from 1 star to 5 because I went in and discussed the below complaint with the manager, Bryan, who then made things right. He apologized profusely for the behavior of the lady and said that never should have happened.

I just called to see about a possible furniture trade or donation for our school's faculty room and the woman who answered the phone was so rude. I asked to speak with a manager because she did not get what I was saying. Her response: "Sorry we are not interested." Then hung up!!!! How rude! I called her back and told her she did not need to be rude. Our school, our families, and friends have supported this location by donating and purchasing props and such from there for performances and plays. Way to show the love back DI!!! If she had just said something along the lines of, "Our managers are busy now. I am not sure if we can do something like that." OR "maybe we can do tax exempt" or anything other than being rude and hanging up....I would probably had just gone down, donated our teachers old couches and bought nicer ones. What a great rep for the DI! WOW!!! I WILL NOT BE GOING TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN AND WILL MAKE SURE OUR PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND FACULTY ARE AWARE AS WELL!!!!!

Angie the cashier was super nice and helpful. 'Tall Mike' was helping someone and was super compassionate with them and their situation, and treated all with respect and dignity. Good prices, lots of good finds and fun stuff!

I'm a big thrift shopper. Apparrel ,China, etc. always has a great selection. And it's well rotated. I go weekly and always fine something new and exciting.

As far as the clothing goes typically 90% has very low wear to none. Pricing from $3-10. Typically $5. I drive past several other thrift shops to go to this one.

Customer service is wonderful and accommodating. Only down side is donation center needing appointments at this time (pandemic related, understandable)

I’ve been shopping the sugarhouse DI for 20 years. When my son was little he would always ask to go to “pink and blue” (because that’s what the colors look like to him). Thanks for always being there for a gal!

The Sugarhouse Deseret Industries location was such a blessing to our family. We had been turned away at another D.I. location and were considering our options, as we did not want to dispose of the items at the landfill. We made some adjustments to our load and tried again at the Sugarhouse D.I. We were very relieved that they would at least take half of our load (they ended up taking the full truck load!). All of the workers helping to unload our very large donation (26 foot moving truck) on a busy Saturday were so very helpful and kind. We had been through a difficult battle with probate and cleaning out our mother's house. Thank you for your great work and service!!!

A Recent trip was a surprising reward all in its own.
A businesses true assets are its Employees, highest commodity by far. Was reminded of this when my personal, brand new $150 Longboard was stolen out of my shopping cart when I turned to get a drink from the fountain.
A "Couch Rat" my new term for the group we all know and can't stand who inhabit every DI in the valley (i now know why they get a bad rap) had been following me throughout the store waiting for a specific, deliberate and precise time to slither into my basket and onto my property.
It was noticed in the wrong hands by an alert and self aware associate named Sonja who works the men's clothing Dept. Recognizing it as not being the mans property while he was at the registers attempting to solicit a price from another unsuspecting associate. she proceeded and approached the thief, catching him red handed, took initiative and seized the stolen property walking it to her managers office to be held until I could be found. I am so grateful for people like Sonja of the Sugar House location, many of the DI locations are severely and discreetly understaffed. The rate of pay is obscene in today's economic turmoil ($7.25) certainly not worth bothering to act as not only an associate but their security as well? She never expected a reward or asked, never implied she deserved anything extra. Just an honest caring individual willing to make a stand against Dishonest often aggressive customers who use non-profit organizations for their own personal profit.

DI management has a responsibility to step up and take care of aggressive shopping tactics and outright theft. Associates and customers should never be victimized like they are.

Hmm.... DI Management paid decent livable salaries V.S. DI Associates 7.25 hr with a cap on hours @ 28 a week.

Who should be handling security?
I know!
Let's pay obscene amounts to off duty LDS police officers to work overtime while sitting around and allowing dangerous shopping conditions to run rampant and people like myself be (almost) victimized. Fire those overweight, overpaid, overinflated officers.

I'll take my min. wage heros anyday!

Next store devotional should be devoted to Sonja.
