Hatchet

I had heard that this place was really good, but didn't have much sense of what to expect when my wife and I decided to check it out. Cocktails were excellent as was the food! The Asian fusion theme was unique and the atmosphere was hard to describe. Some combination of lumberjack, hipster, cosmopolitan chic. That probably doesn't make much sense as you read it, so you'll have to go have a look for yourself.

We hadn’t been to hatchet in a few years so we put it back it rotation. The whole meal including service was excellent. Rarely do 5 people all love their meal but that’s what happened. Great drink list and lots of food options. Just a really perfect experience overall.

We had not visited Hatchet in a while and we’re happy to try their Asian inspired menu. Started with cocktail, soda, and low-alcohol beer. Quite happy with their wide, but curated options of beverages that anyone can enjoy.

For appetizer, we shared the crispy chicken bao (buns) with sticky honey lemongrass sauce, cucumber, pickled onion, cilantro, lime cabbage. Refreshing and light starter. The kid dinner options are Mac and cheese, butter noodles, popcorn chicken, and grilled cheese with choice of fries or dressed greens. Our daughter enjoyed the popcorn chicken and hand-cut fries.

I had the koji aged NY Strip steak, after my first choice the Gochujang lemongrass short ribs ran out. The NY strip was cooked medium and on top of tasty miso roasted broccolini, crispy smashed potatoes and pea shoots. My husband enjoyed bulgogi lettuce wrap, which he ordered beef but got chicken mistakenly and the staff corrected the meal with his first choice. Overall, delicious and flavorful. The waiter was kind enough to get us complimentary creemees from their shop across the street due to the order mix up.
Staff are pleasant and honor the time it takes to choose your drinks and meal as well as enjoy it. We appreciate they add in gratuity to ensure their staff are paid well.

This place was unique from the music to the food to the wallpaper. I really enjoyed the food and frankly loved the wallpaper. The cauliflower was so delicious. I chose the Korean BBQ with a side of ranch. The pictures of the food don’t do it justice.

What a great place. Staff were so nice and great communicators. Had a complex cocktail (“…industry”) and it was well made with depth and balance. Had the Udon dish and was yummy. Big portion, but so tasty I ate it all. Everyone I. Our group (8 of us in all) was all very satisfied with the experience. Highly recommend.

Came in on Saturday night with a party of 6, including 2 kids. They were short staffed due to illness and we had to wait longer than we expected. Staff were very kind and professional and food and drinks were worth the wait. Very high quality food and cocktails. Excellent beer list. We’ll be back!

Wonderful service. They had just opened a few days earlier for indoor service. Dinner companions said that the Beyond burgers and fries were fabulous. Special shout out to the Dirty Burger Cat Fries. The special: big plate of mussels was superb. I loved the spicy red curry with pork belly. Rice was a teeny bit underdone, but otherwise it was delicious.
All in all a great find! Will be back and highly recommend it for people in the area.

Food was so good here with healthy portion sizes. I highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich and cornbread.

Service was excellent. We showed up after the dinner rush and got our food quickly.

The food here is excellent. We split fried Brussels sprouts. I got a paella special that was excellent. It had that signature mix of seafood and chicken flavor. Girlfriend got a pesto Carbonara with peas and artichoke hearts. We split a mousse cake that was airy with a great chocolate flavor. The tap list here is amazing with various local beers . The beers are intermingled with some great other craft selections. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Our home away from home (when I don’t want to cook)! Love the attentive staff and delicious food. Their specials always rock-get there before they are sold out!!

Very good food with an emphasis on local ingredients and great local beers on tap. Menu changes frequently but generally has options for most peoples' tastes. Staff is competent and friendly. Kid-friendly atmosphere with large indoor shuffleboard table. Seasonal outdoor window for ice cream. Can get busy on weekends. Well worth a visit!

Was driving through Richmond, VT and craving a creemee and Hatchet came up in a quick search. They have a walk-up window which makes it super easy. They also have interesting flavors. That day the two on tap were sweet corn and black raspberry. And I had a hard time deciding between toppings (I almost got the fruity pebbles, it was a tough choice though to go with the more classic choice of chocolate sprinkles). So as far as flavors go, we got one of each... and while the black raspberry with chocolate sprinkles was the favorite by the last bite the sweet corn (no topping) really grew on me. The last melty bit tasted like the milk at the bottom of a bowl of corn flakes — and I mean that as a compliment.

My husband and I’s go to spot. Rarely do I ever review places, but this one is well worth it. Top notch food and service. Highly recommend!

My first visit tonight! And it was great in every way! The staff was very attentive but not pushy. Food was great except I made a bad choice…..just my personal taste. When the manager saw I didn’t eat he came right over to find out the problem. I explained it was just me but he still did not charge for my dinner. I would highly recommend Hatchet!!!

Korean BBQ Meatloaf and Smashburger were delicious. Never thought cabbage and potato could be melded so well in the meatloaf dish.

This place is a sure bet for great food that doesn't break the bank.

Atmosphere... Really neat! Huge shuffle board which is a blast, a wall of vintage hatchets which is novel and a down to earth farmhouse style otherwise. The bathrooms are a mixed bag. Cool and unique sink but the room including the toilet is jet black. Tough to see everything.

Food... Fantastic. Appatizers included hummus plate which was super silky, creamy smooth. Muscles were ok, dry rub wings were great, and the pierogi's were worth getting a second order!
Main course included the pulled pork (photo attached) which was really savory and would highly recommend. Everybody else seemed happy with their hatchets​ burger, seitan sandwich, veggie burger and plain burger. No complaints and only compliments, which is saying a lot when two of us are professional chefs.

Beer... Great selection on tap including Hill farmstead and zero gravity. Maybe 15 beers on tap.

We hadn’t been to Hatchet since before the pandemic but were in the area and thought we’d give it a try. We had a great meal. The food was good (bolgogi lettuce wraps were delicious), drinks were wicked tasty, and the service was on point. Interesting menu options too. They were also very attentive to my wife’s gluten allergy. All around, it was a great experience and will be back in our rotation of spots.

Hatchet is a terrific spot. Set aside the fact that they always have good music playing, great atmosphere, and an impressive draft list. Hatchet has great staff, hard working and always smiling. Most importantly, the food never disappoints. Whether dining in or getting take out, it is always delicious. The creativity on the menu is impressive. Familiar and inviting is there, burgers/ribs/chicken sandwich, but you can also find a little daring in the green curry mussels, crab rangoon, or the roasted pork sandwich. Just a great find.

I love everything about Hatchet! I am usually the kind of person who orders the same thing all the time, but I cannot believe how many times I've ordered off of the specials menu here - the kitchen at Hatchet seems to have unlimited imagination week after week & always executes. The restaurant itself also has a really warm vibe that strikes the perfect balance between being familiar and unique all at the same time. And the staff are just the coolest, most genuine people. They also have a ton of options for drinks - we've taken many friends/visitors here, and everyone was always raving about the cocktails & food. I am so thankful we have a spot like Hatchet in town.
