This is a great trail that goes through Gardner on the north side of town. There are woods around and a bridge to walk across. There is also a playground that you could stop at and your kids could play at. There are NO restrooms anywhere. The trail is also dog friendly and bike friendly.

I enjoy the parks. As a fisher my main interest is in the lakes and other waterways. There is very little knowledge of fisheries management going into the sustainability of good fishing in any of the lakes. Dumping in hoards of stocked trout and other species is not sustainable stewardship but put and take pay lake style management. On the other hand the hands off approach to certain wild areas in terms of forest and meadow is very good. I wish permits could be bought online too. Overall high praise for what they do. But do get a fisheries person or establish a closer relationship with KDWPT.

Absolutely the worst ran summer camp is the one they run in Gardner. Also the JCPRD before and after school program is terrible at Moonlight Elementary. They hire a bunch of high school girls that just want to sit around and chit chat. They do not actually watch the kids and see what is going on. If there is a kid that acts out at all, they are instantly a problem child and it seems that everything is their fault and they do not even get to have feelings. Also, parents were told that they would get free breakfast and lunch at this location. Well, come to find out if teachers are late, they don't go across the parking lot for breakfast. So if you didn't give your kid breakfast that morning because you were told they feed them, your kid went hungry that morning. They did give a small morning snack. I would not recommend a dog to their care. Oregon Trail was by far the best camp. But the one at Moonlight is a joke.
