El Patron Mexican Food Bar & Grill

Food was very good the cheese dip was fantastic and service was great. They were really fast to make our food and the chips were fresh and hot. Overall this restaurant is a great place to eat!

The food and service is consistently great. In my opinion, they have the best jalapeno margaritas around. The restaurant is always clean but could use some updating.

Service could be better. We had to wait for quite a while for anyone to walk by to request a refill and then actually flagged a bus person to assist.
Ordered a sangria swirl margarita and was brought a regular sangria. I asked about the swirl margarita part and was advised that's called a tropical sangria... Implying I should keep my sangria that was delivered. It was a decent sangria but definitely could have used more bourbon. No heat on the backside.
Would have preferred the drink I ordered though

This is a fun, little Mexican restaurant. Every time we come here the staff is friendly and the food is spot on. We typically come on Friday nights and it's always busy. I really like the thinness of their tortilla chips. I like to get something different when we eat here and I have yet to be disappointed.

First time here and everything was amazing! Food was delicious and hot and we will be back soon to try more of the menu!

Decided to try the Molcajete for the first time and was blown away by the flavor. I also recommend the jalapeno margarita on the side it goes great together. Friendly service with a relax atmosphere. Will be back there in the future.

The margaritas were good. The salsa was the best I have ever eaten. Friendly Staff!! Love the atmosphere!! Will definitely be back.

We live in Lenexa but after our trip to El Patron tonight, we will make the 20 minute drive from now on when we want Mexican. Crispy chips, chunky salsa, incredible cheese sauce, and delicious entrees! You can't go wrong with this chicken, steak and shrimp speciality covered in cheese dip served with fresh tortillas over a bed of rice. *Chef's Kiss*

Grilled chicken quesadilla is very good.

This place is OUTSTANDING!! We have been here several times and it is absolutely fabulous every time. We drive 20 minutes, but it is so worth it. We have been here 4 times in the past 3 weeks. Quesobarrillas are TO DIE FOR! Ask for B, she is wonderful! I can’t say enough- great food and service!

Love eating here as a family. It's fun to support a local place, we see our neighbors or our kid's teachers each time we go and thoroughly enjoy the service every time! Don't sleep on the breakfast burritos either, we usually get at least two meals per burrito. 💪🏼

Always so good. We've been coming here since they opened ~5 years ago and they have never disappointed. The soda is always really good, the salsa is amazing, the food is always tasty, fresh, comes out fast, and the service is amazing. You can just tell they care.

This was the most delicious Mexican food I've had in a loong time!! The chips and salsa were also fabulous! We ordered "to go" and sometimes I worry that it won't be as nicely done as sitting down. The order was ready in what felt like 5 minutes and it had my taste buds dancing! Burrito Gigante for the win! 🏆 The only mistake I made was not ordering a side of rice with it. Tasted my husband's rice and then had to refrain from eating all of it. It's probably a good thing I live 5 hours away and can't eat here every week! 😂 I will be back though!

Our new favorite Mexican Restaurant! Cute clean and comfortable this little gem is hidden away in DeSoto. The atmosphere, cleanliness and outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable staff are top notch. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Their Margaritas are second to none. Winning!! 🍹🌮🍹

Excellent quality food, fantastic service, and decent atmosphere. I’ve never had a bad meal here and it’s exactly what you should expect for Mexican food. The wait staff don’t let your glasses or chips go empty and are great at anticipating what you need next. While the atmosphere didn’t start heat, being a former KFC/TacoBell combo store, they’ve really made it inviting with a bar, multiple TVs, and comfortable seating. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
