The perfect field trip location! I was a chaperone for 3rd graders, but fully enjoyed participating as a student. It was educational and fun! Several of the students proclaimed it as the best field trip they had ever been on.

Been here before, but this time did the Scandal in the Schoolhouse escape room as a surprise for my oldest daughter's birthday. We had a memorable time solving the mystery of the missing school teacher. Great feeling of history, and you get to know the place and people even better than just visiting for the regular museum experience.

I took a dear friend who was a student of Lanesfield around 1945 to 1950 or so. He reminisced and shared many memories with me. We can't wait to return when the museum is open!

Really well kept and great information! We came on a Sunday, so we were unable to go into any of the buildings.

An original! The Lanesfield Schoolhouse Escape Room is a hidden gem. Make the trip, and you'll be transported back to the early 1900s to solve the mystery of a missing schoolmarm.

Clues involve arithmetic, literature, history, and geography. Each proved challenging but not impossible to solve. Our family (parents and four young adults) completed the room in 42 minutes.

Be sure to request Miss Sarah Wacker! She's quite witty.

It was so cool! the one-room schoolhouse was amazing and the guide was friendly. it was a very informational experience. Whenever I went there was a very awesome Valentine's Day craft & they have tours every day. I think it's an amazing thing to go to and it's very enjoyable! -Opinion of my 11yr old

JoCo did a great job of preserving this one-room schoolhouse and its outbuildings to convey the purpose and experience of these schools throughout small town America. Definitely worth the visit.

Also, during the pandemic, the folks at Lanesfield created a wonderful escape room based on a very unique setting. A very worthwhile family activity.

This place is a truly a hidden gem...for children and adults. It brings to life the days of the one room schoolhouse. I learned how to play The game of Grace's..new to me and I am 73 years old. My granddaughter, age 8 also enjoyed our travel back in time..writing on a slate and with pen and ink...taking a spelling test and a geography lesson. Fantastic place to have fun and learn at the same time.😀😀😀😀😀

A must visit location. There are not too many one room schools to visit anymore. What a way to show kids what life used to be. We got to do spelling, math and practice our ink pen work. Friendly staff. Kids already want to go back. Give it a chance. You might learn something.

Did the escape room, very fun. Only come when the sun is shining though, it's very authentic so no lights in the building
