Robert is the kind of hairstylist that one would be lucky to find. He is kind, knowledgeable, and precise. For the level of service you get, one would expect to pay top dollar. Rates are super reasonable. If you want to support a local business and feel good about who you are supporting, this is the place. I also recommend Robert to anyone that enjoys a stylist that doesn't hold you hostage talking about their own stuff. He is quiet by nature and is focused on getting the job done. Scherdiva has added nail services and Phil is an amazing nail technician. Both my toes and fingers turned out so beautiful. Phil spent time helping me with choices and explained everything that I could do. My spa pedicure was so relaxing. I highly recommend Phil for anything you need for your nails!

It was a challenge to find a stylist I trust after relocating to VT but I hit the jackpot with Mariah. My color, highlights, and trims have all been excellent and she is a delightful and very friendly person. The salon itself is very relaxing and welcoming. I highly recommend!

OMG, I hit the jackpot of the highest scores on finding Philip Clark the nail guru at Scherdiva salon!! I’ve tried many salons throughout the Vermont and New Hampshire area and I always felt like just a number. The last salon pedicure visit to a high reviewed salon in NH took 3 HOURS and left me with tears in my eyes and horrible pain in my toes from having them filed to the point of blood, even with me telling her to stop I’ve had enough she continued to say “no no 5 more minutes, you’re not done yet!”
Phil is meticulous with your mani/pedi, offers paraffin and has a wide array of powders, gels and colors to choose from.

I had an excellent experience at Scherdiva Salon! I was looking for a new place for a haircut since my previous salon closed down and Sherdiva will definitely be my new place from now on! The booking process was very easy and well organized, I appreciated being able to book my appointment at my convenience online rather than having to call in. The salon had a great atmosphere and the service was prompt and very friendly! Robert did a great job listening to my needs and made great suggestions based on previous hairstyles that I had. I am looking forward to visiting Scherdiva again soon!

Kristen Ploof at Scherdiva Salon in Essex was amazing. She totally nailed my color and cut and my hair feels a million times healthier than it did when I went in. I have dry, very fine hair so usually after I leave a salon my hair looks and feels great the same day but soon after feels frizzy and dried out, but whatever she did left my hair feeling exceptional for days. You can also tell how much she cares about her clients satisfaction with her work.

I wish I could rate it a 10!! I went to Robert after a friend recommended him and I'm so glad I did!!! He fixed my hair from my previous cut. This is the place you go and never leave! I would drive hours if they ever relocate because no one is ever doing my hair except Robert in the future!!! And yes his scalp massage while washing your hair is so relaxing. Truly more of an experience. He also took the time to show me how he styled my hair and how I could do it at home. I never feel rushed and finally have found a place I feel like I get to really enjoy the whole process. Chris is also a huge sweetheart and I love talking to him while getting my hair done! A+++

I was referred to Robert six years ago by a friend after I confessed to her that I was visiting a different Burlington area salon each time I needed a cut (with varying results). From the first cut, I was hooked. Robert is absolutely fantastic. He puts the client first and always takes care to ensure that I'm 110% satisfied with my experience. He's diligent, skilled, and a true artist. He generously sponsored me during my year as Miss Vermont 2011 and went above and beyond to make sure I was prepared for every appearance and for Miss America.

Last week, I needed a last minute cut and scheduled with Kristen, another artist at Scherdiva. I was nervous to work with a different stylist, but Kristen was amazing as well! I can't say enough about the wonderful team atmosphere at Scherdiva and the great experiences I've had over the last six years.

Kristin Ploof is a miracle worker! She is extremely knowledgeable. She has an incredible knack for determining which styles will work best for her clients, both in terms of aesthetics and lifestyle. Her combination of patience and skill ensures that your haircut will be PERFECT. Even when I was thrilled with the outcome she continued to "tweak" pieces here and there until the cut was to her high standards. I've received countless compliments on my hair and can say that without a doubt it is one of my best haircuts ever. Kristin is absolutely incredible, I cannot recommend her enough!

Today was my first a visit at this Salon and Lauren did my hair. I can't express how thrilled I was to have a stylist cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it I highly recommend Lauren. The atmosphere was relaxing the Salon was clean and welcoming. The Salon offers ample parking which made the whole experience excellent. I will definitely go back. Thank you

At the recommendation of a friend and my own personal research I went to Scherdiva to have Kristin dye my hair. I had frequently colored my hair at home and decided I wanted to go blonde. A task I wasn't sure would be possible seeing as my hair is naturally brunette and I had already dyed it quite dark several times and the last few inches of my hair felt crispy. Thanks to Kristin's complementary consultation we were able to discuss what I hoped for and make it happen shortly thereafter (after kindly quelling my fears and assuring me I could pull off blonde). Do not be swayed by Kristin's young appearance, she is extremely knowledgeable and was able to lighten my hair wonderfully! She had told me it would take 2-3 visits to achieve the look I was going for and I was extremely impressed by the progress we made the first day. I loved how Kristin worked with me and gave great, honest advice. I can't wait to go back. Not only did I get great color, I got an amazing haircut as well (while keeping length) and received tons of compliments! The best part of the process was that my hair feels a million times softer even days later. They must have magic in their dye!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Robert is simply the best. I brought my daughter in to get a trim and she walked out looking like a movie star. Maybe there's a little mom-bias there - but seriously, it was SUCH a perfect cut. He took his time to talk to her about what she wanted, and gave her suggestions when she wasn't sure. She is so very quiet, and often people will give up on talking to her, but he totally brought her out her chatty side. She loved the experience too!

-- So here's a funny thing... she got her hair cut last night, and today, right before she walked out the door headed for church she put her big monkey hat on. I was shocked and asked "what the heck?" She explained that she's not good receiving complements, and was afraid that unless precautions were taken she would be inundated with them. (She wasn't wrong.)

Now I can't wait for my turn. I feel so lucky to have found such a talented, collaborative and welcoming stylist.

It is a relaxing and welcoming environment. Kristen Ploff is absolutely amazing. It's very difficult to find a hairdresser that you are comfortable with. I feel like I could go to Kristen and .say do whatever you want and I would like what she did with my hair. It is very important to Kristen that her clients are happy. Best hair salon I have ever been to. It's not easy to find someone to do thr "right" blonde. Robert amazes me every time. Plus with all the blonde my hair always feels healthy. Thank you Robert!

I have only known Robert for a couple years, but since the day I stepped foot in his salon, I refuse to go anywhere else for hair services.
Robert is very professional, along with the environment. He always wants to know about my hair and I before anything else. He asks a lot of questions about how I want to wear my hair, which makes me confident I'll end up with a hairstyle I love. He gives great advice when I'm looking for change, and explains his theories.
Robert is "cutting-edge" & up-to-date with current fashion trends. I've seen some of his work, and he has an extreme sense of creativity.
Being a cosmetologist myself, he inspires me. I can relate and converse with him easily. It's clear he is very passionate about what he does.
I learn something new every time I go there. He educates me on which specific products are good for my type of hair, and even how to style my hair on my own. He answers any questions I have, and doesn't make me feel uncomfortable to ask.
The environment is relaxing. The stations are properly spaced out, so neither stylist is distracting the other. This lets me know that I have his full attention.

I look forward to getting my hair done, because I always leave feeling better and satisfied. When I'm there, I'm treated as an individual, and not just another client.
He exceeds any expectations, & I enjoy his presence as I am sure all of his other clients do as well.

I highly recommend this salon! I felt very welcomed during my first visit, I'm always nervous visiting a new salon. I went in wanting a balayage and to achieve blonde on hair that had been darkened previously. Robert did a fantastic job and I left with the blonde I had wanted. The price was also great! Completely worth it, and I'm so glad I went.

Robert is fantastic! As someone who normally dislikes the process of getting my hair cut, I found this experience to be heads and tails above any other. He listened to what I wanted, gave terrific suggestions/advice, and made me feel very relaxed. Awesome scalp massage too.
