The Chive Simply Good Cafe & Market

Stopped in when passing through from Oklahoma to Minnesota. I had the Grilled Cheese Trio and it was delicious! My husband had the Bateman Bison Burger and loved it! I especially liked the potato chips that came with his burger. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. All around good, clean eating! Great location for travelers.

Fresh and tasty. The scone was fresh.
The breakfast sandwich on a grilled baguette was delicious.
I also enjoyed a small beer from the adjacent brewery.
I'd like to go back when the lunch menu is offered.

I have been coming to Chive for almost 3 years now and every time I come, I leave more impressed than the last time!

My favorites are their Bison Burger and their Petsco Grilled Cheese with chips and Beer Cheese Dipping Sauce!

The atmosphere is wonderful with a nice breeze, sunshine and shade. My food and drink were delicious. I love the lime vinaigrette dressing on my salad! Everything fresh!
My iced coffee with almond milk truly is remarkable. I learned Echo coffee is used. The kind (or grower or maker) of coffee certainly makes a huge difference.

Unbelievable customer service, local variety and food! The shop is absolutely adorable with a selection of local produce, indoor and outdoor seating and specialty items. Everything on the menu was very fresh, over 80% local, and very very very tasty! John was very kind and friendly and let us know that they change their menu weekly, they make all homemade breads, they recycle and compost their waste which means we just have to come back weekly! To be so local, the prices are great! You can get a meal from 8.00 - 17.00! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

Farm fresh locally sourced ingredients, bread made on-site, produce that you can buy to make your own recipes at home. Yeah this is a place that I want to frequent. I had the trout sandwich and it was just right. The trout was not hot so chilled to perfection. But they can wrap dates with balsamic glaze or a great appetizer to start us off. Definitely a place I will keep going back to.

BEST RESTAURANT I'VE BEEN TO!!! Lovely place with good food and good people. They made a special order for my folks because one of them could not do any of the desserts on the menu. Really good pizza and their Bison Biker Burger was fantastic.

It's hard to get a give from me but this place was the BEST! I love the twist on every dish. I had a rueben with smoked sausage-excellent. The coleslaw was like nothing I've ever tasted. I got a sugar cookie that had flavor other than just Sugar. I loved it. Some at the table said it was pricey but I felt like the value was there. If I ever getting back to KC I'll have to stop for dinner and some beer.

I have been very excited to have the Chive & Transparent Brewery open. This is my 3rd visit. From the beer to the food, it is a wonderful addition to South Kansas City. Lucky me, it is only a few minutes from downtown Grandview. I really enjoyed the Farrar Farm Pork Sloppy Joe. So yummy! From what I understand, it is becoming a crowd favorite. I know why, it is delish. Full of flavor on a fresh roll. I wasn't planning on returning until next week, but I may not be able to wait that long.

First timers and great experience. Food, beers, decor, atmosphere and staff were amazing. Had breakfast and was fresh and tasty. A lot of homemade and fresh items on the menu.

Looking forward to trying lunch and dinner and more beers.

My mom and I choose to make the drive over to Grandview to try this little cafe out and it did not disappoint. Right away we were welcomed in and asked if it was our first time in. While we couldn’t decide on what we wanted, we were asked if we needed any recommendations. All the options sounded amazing. I ended up ordering the Grilled Cheese with Bacon and a Strawberry Lemonade. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the lemonade. I especially loved that they are farm to table and a small business.

Highly recommend! Ordered the bison burger with house made chips (including beer cheese sauce) and it was perfect. The burger was cooked just right. The chips were a mix of sweet and red potatoes and they were light and crispy. Everything tasted so fresh, down to the house made ketchup! Fresh wild flowers on each table, felt like visiting family. Can’t wait to come back.

Highly recommend attending one of their Paella parties! Four courses with beer pairings from the micro brew in the same facility. Great patio area when warm and when it’s not the inside is great too!

As a resident of Grandview and a self proclaimed foodie, this place was great! Thoughtfully crafted fresh menu, locally sourced ingredients, and delicious. I could tell the kitchen staff and owners really care about their food quality and had a welcoming smile the entire time we ate there. I had a salmon pate sourdough sandwich in their lunch special, slaw and a home made cookie as a bonus. Also had taquitos as an appetizer and they were house made with an really tasty dipping sauce that was an unexpected tastebud delight. Priced right for the quality and taste so it felt like a value. Well done! Having a bonus brewery there with seasonal beer on tap is also a bonus. I will be back to try all of them!

This pizza is so amazing ! It is the perfect amount of everything. Highly recommend the food and the beer! They also have fun games to play while you eat and drink 🍺

Such a unique dinning experience. If you love great food seek it out. The beer is incredible too but if your not into craft beer the food is more than worth the trip!

Service!! As a family getting acquainted with the area, I can’t tell you how many places we’ve mentioned that we’re there for the first time and they literally just give us a blank stare. Hilda was anything but that, she seemed genuinely excited to have us trying The Chive out. She treated each table in the place so well and was explaining and promoting all you have going on, what a gem she is to have! And the rest of the staff that was in was all smiles and warmth too. The service was just so welcoming, attentive, personal, genuine, engaged from start to finish, friendly, etc. These days I will choose a place with good service over anything else honestly, but the food was certainly delicious as well! And what friendly customers you all have, too! Our 9 month old baby was basically an instant celebrity in there. Please give Hilda and the rest of the crew a pat on the back and tell whoever is responsible for hiring they’re doing a great job with their staff. We felt the love and enjoyed it all, thanks! PS I know this review is about The Chive, but the beer was wonderful, my beer loving husband was impressed with both the Saison and the IPA he tried and the man behind the bar is included in my comments about staff. We will be bringing a growler next time!

Great organic and locally sourced offerings. Lots of unique extra curricular activities, Artist night, Art fest-Paella Parties monthly with Transparent beer pairings, live music, private dinners, box subscriptions etc.

We stopped as we passed through on a road trip and will definitely stop again on the next! Service was more than excellent, the locally-sourced food was perfectly made (and very unique in menu and preparation), and the beer choices were fantastic. They had a little something for everyone in our family of 4 and we all walked away stuffed and happy.
