We were in town visiting Manchester. This restaurant came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The setting was very unique. The food was outstanding! If you’re in Manchester, this is worth a visit. We were there on a Sunday night at 630PM and it was packed. So, make a reservation.

We really really enjoyed this restaurant. My outlaws shared a prime rib. There was a $9 charge, but they received everything I did. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. There were quite a few vegetarian options as well. The drinks were delicious. The Mary Pickford was to die for! Our waitress, Tiffany, was amazing. Very attentive and accomodating. I wish this place was closer. I'd definitely be a regular!

Ye Olde Tavern is an excellent taste of New England, with the classic Vermont mixed in. Their servers are attentive and caring, and take care of their customers. You also get very good value. Their special beer brewed by Switchback is excellent.

I have to also give a shoutout to the staff that helped us when my wife lost her bracelet down a bathroom drain. I cannot imagine many restaurants close to home that would have gone through the effort to retrieve the lost bracelet, further confirming how much they care about their customers.

100% recommend and will definitely dine again when back in Manchester.

Totally historical. From the windows, to the floor! This place is truly antique with history that you can read about. We got the best prime rib and enjoyed every bite. The lobster mac and cheese was the best we have had. The service was great and there is good parking. The location is walking distance from shopping and treats. We really loved this place and we will go back!!

Great dining experience in Manchester! Delicious food, historic atmosphere, wonder waitress and staff that was accommodating and attentive to us. We got the roasted turkey, it was very generous portions, and just like Thanksgiving! We also got the pot roast and it was tender and smothered in a rich gravy perfectly paired with mash potatoes. All meals came with cranberry fritters with maple butter (so good), fresh wheat rolls and salad.
The kids menu hit the spot for our little ones - included steak tips and mash and buttered noodles.
We were so stuffed there was not room for dessert, next time!

I've been dining at Ye Olde Tavern for many years, and it never disappoints.

Although they couldn't accommodate me on Sunday night for dinner because they were already completely booked, I just thoroughly enjoyed a Monday night dinner of their signature cranberry fritters, French onion soup, and pot roast. The service was both efficient and friendly, and the value remains.

Always dependable and always busy simply because it is consistently great. That's Ye Olde Tavern in a nutshell.

We went for my dads birthday dinner a few weeks ago. The atmosphere is charming, I love historical buildings, and reading the history of the location in the menu made it more interesting. The food is 5 stars! The service is great. Timely and friendly. She made great recommendations but was not pushy. We had the grill lobster tail appetizer, the lobster mac&cheese appetizer, the baked brie, and the duck entree with blackberry demi glaze. It was all outstanding! The prices are on the high end and not in our budget for an every night out, but I would absolutely recommend it to anyone if you can.

We only went to see the oldest bar in Vermont. We had their 1790 amber ale and a rum drink. Both were fantastic. It had a great atmosphere and the history was amazing.

FABULOUS Atmosphere, feels as if you are dining in George Washington’s Tavern. Hardly any artificial light, meaning each table has a beautiful. Tapered candle, as well as a kerosene lantern. True candlelight dining experience! Food is delicious! One of the most relaxing and delicious meals I’ve had in this area in a long time.!!!

Wow! So much history at this place. We were greet very kindly upon arrival and was seated immediately. The restaurant was just about to be at full capacity. Our server, Larissa, introduced herself and told us about the daily specials. After we ordered, she got the food out for us at a good pace. As soon as we were done with he appetizers, the salad came out and then the meal. We had the New York, Applesider and cranberry chicken, calf liver and chicken masala. All were delicious. Don't forget about the cranberry fritter. Service was excellent and food was great.

Great meal at a restaurant that is so rich in history. The colonial environment is felt throughout the entire establishment, which makes the atmosphere very enjoyable. I ordered the roast tom turkey and it tasted terrific. The meal also came with a salad, bread, and fritters. The meal combined with the environment was very pleasant. The service was also excellent and quick. Though the prices are a bit high, I believe it was worth what I got. I would totally recommend dining here.

We just love Ye Olde Tavern. From the atmosphere to the service and delicious food, the tavern is my go-to dinner spot when in Manchester. Their cranberry fritters are yummy; the salad is on point and my scallops were amazing. Everything was perfect.

Always a great meal with a side of history. But seriously We have been coming here for at least 18 years on a regular bases and always enjoy everything we have tried.

Admittedly, the prime rib on weekends is to die for and usually sells out so get there early or make reservations and tell them to reserve a slice for you. Other very good dishes is the lobster Mac and cheese, onion soup and pot roast.

I would recommend making reservations ahead of time and do read about the history of the place while enjoying your pre dinner cocktail!

We had a lovely dining experience that almost didn't happen. We are from NY and went to Vermont for the day. It was a lovely day for a drive and leaf peeping. We had a late breakfast. but we were hungry by 3:30. We looked for a place to eat. We found the Ye Old Tavern which opened at 4:30. We killed some time and were in their parking lot by 10 after 4:00. We waited around until about 4:25 and then walked to the door. The door was still locked. There was a couple ahead of us and more people lined up behind us. At 4:30 the doors opened and we went in. Of course, they asked if we had a reservation and we didn't. She asked if we could be done by 6:00. We said YES! She said she only had space for one walk-in.

We met our waitress Tiffany, who was wonderful and attentive. The service was spot on. The food was delicious. A very lovely dining experience. We even bought some of their maple butter, which was fabulous!

You should definitely go, but makr a reservation so you don't miss out.

An amazing experience altogether.
Food was tasty with good portions.
Love the old themed drinks.
The theme of the atmosphere was spot on, with the warped floors and decorations.

Would love to go back again.

Had a marvelous dinner with my wife at Ye Olde Tavern. The prime rib was first class. My wife enjoyed the pot roast. We each a different soup to start. The service was top notch.

I have to thank Janette in finding us a last minute reservation. My wife was thrilled with our special dinner.

Our experience began with Josie, our server, who is the very best I've ever met. The moment I put my menu down, she was there to take our order, she somehow managed to put items on the table without us noticing, and was extremely pleasant and professional.

First, we had the Cranberry Fritters with Maple butter. We ordered the Almond & Brown Sugar Encrusted Brie and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms for appetizers, had the House Balsamic with Bleu Cheese crumb on our salads, and for dinner I had the Venison with Mushroom Bourdelaise, my husband had one of the specials (sirloin with onions and cheeses), my daughter had the Atlantic Salmon with Horseradish crust, and my son had the Traditional Pot Roast. Soft, delicious bread was served as well. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Bombe Flambés.

Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. My daughter said, "I don't know how they do it, but even the salad tastes better here." Indeed, everything did!

The Tavern itself is decorated with antiques and is very warm and inviting.

I highly recommend you make a reservation and experience Ye Olde Tavern the next time you're in Manchester.

This wonderful restaurant goes out of its way to instill a Colonial era feel and succeeds marvelously. The atmosphere, staff, and food are great. You would not be surprised if the likes of George Washington or Ethan Allen walked in and sat at a nearby table. Pricing is on the higher end, but when you factor in all that comes with a meal (cranberry fritters with maple butter, fresh rolls, a delicious salad) it is a good value. Let me put it this way: It is not unheard of for my wife and I to travel 90+ miles to dine there. It really is that good.
