Downtown Deli & Custard Shoppe

It's a small town, friendly place with fresh, delicious sandwiches and excellent frozen custard. Dare I say, the custard is even better than Ted Drewes.

My husband and I both had the Bang Bang burger with Smokey fries. It was DELICIOUS!!! The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere great and what we saw on the menu only made us want to come back! Definitely recommend if you are in Hermann!

This place is amazing! I’m from Hermann and every time I go back home, I always have to get food from the Downtown Deli. They have a huge menu to where everyone is sure to find something they like. Being from Hermann, I have been there a lot and have never had a bad experience. This place is a must! Be sure to check out their daily specials.

Gorgeous sandwich! The caprice is the yummiest sandwich I've ever had. Omg!

The garlic parmesan fries were quite yummy as well.

The only thing I would change is the Styrofoam. Please think of the planet!

One of the best places to grab a quick lunch in Hermann. Great deli style sandwiches, chips, shakes and malts. The location is perfect and the employees were very helpful.

The Reuben was fantastic so much so that I came back the next day and ordered it again!

Went for motorcycle ride and got lunch at the Deli.

Very good classic diner food. Awesome burgers and amazing Tater Tots. Staff was very friendly and quick with the food. Excellent place to hang while waiting for train to arrive. Train station is just across the street.

Downtown Deli & Custard Shoppe is a fantastic place to grab a quick bite. Their sandwiches are excellent - I particularly loved the Reuben. They also have a wide variety of ice cream options. Don't miss out on this tasty spot for a casual meal and dessert!

The food is good bro. Glad we came here. Kids burger was awesome. Pastrami sandwich was yummy. Good stuff. I would come back here. Not too expensive.

Year round BEST place to stop and get a bite to eat or cool off with a sweet treat! It's the ole' Ma and Pa ice cream parlor and grill with out of this world specials rotated daily.

I am writing this review from inside the shoppe. It’s so good! My wife and I got the salted caramel malt and cupcake sundae with chocolate mouse ice cream and peanut butter topping. It’s very good! Will be back for sure.

Visited here twice during our Hermann trip. Once for ice cream and once for sandwiches. Both were delicious. The people working there were very helpful and provided excellent service. The fries were crisp and coated in Cajun seasoning.

Small but with a nice menu,deli style tables.Food well prepared, service quick and friendly.Loved the sandwich called The Duke.

A hidden gem in Hermann. We asked some locals where to take the kids for ice cream and they all said Downtown Deli was the spot. It did not disappoint! Great flavors and the concretes were every bit as good as Ted Drewes; my wife initially didn't get anything but tasted my concrete and went up and ordered one for herself right away. Will be back!

My sandwich was ok, but that Texas pecan custard in a waffle cone was the best that I have had in years.

It has been years since I have been to the Deli. I had to meet my grandchildren other grandparents there. My grandchildren had fries and ice cream. They serve a big portion of fries, they were very good.
