Stumbled upon Whirligig Brewing with my husband this afternoon and so glad we did! Chill atmosphere, good beer selection (especially if you are a sour beer fan) and the food was not at all what you typically find at a brewery. And that was a major selling point for me. Loaded kettle potato chips with smoked in-house shredded rib meat and raclette cheese - outstanding!! Many other great choices including full on raclette with fingerling potatoes (maybe next time when it’s not 90 degrees out). Jeff, the owner, is both brewmaster and chef and uber talented at both. Max, the bartender, was friendly, personable and attentive. Seriously a great experience overall. Highly recommend!

This place is a gem . We stopped by on our way to Montreal for a short beer/snack break
.Great list of artisanal beers. Delicious and creative food. Definitely not your average pub food. Service is very friendly. Atmosphere is great. Don't even think twice, just go.

I haven’t been this excited about a restaurant/ brewery in a very long time. Deborah was amazing and had so much knowledge about everything they offered. The sour beer is outstanding and I couldn’t recommend the homemade smoked meat enough!! Definitely going to drive the hour and a half that it takes to get there a lot just to visit them again! 10000/10!!!!

My wife and I had such a great experience here. The beer is so good - you can tell it’s brewed in small batches with lots of love. The IPA was my favorite! The only thing better than the beer was the staff. Jenna and Deb - thank you so much for your hospitality. You made our experience at Whirligigs memorable and we will be sure to be back!

It is always a fun experience at Whirligig. Geoff, Debra, Max, and all the crew make us feel right at home. Excellent selection of beer and sake. The menu has really come a long way in the last year since they expanded the kitchen...both lunch and dinner are exceptional. Don't pass through St. Johnsbury without a stop here!

Wonderful indoor and outdoor brewery with a range of beers to choose from. I tried four sour beers and the menu offered a "sour scale" which was very helpful in selecting the sour I wanted to try. My husband really enjoyed the pilsner. The food offered by Wondering Vines was very good and hit the spot. You must visit St. J and stop in for lunch and a brew.

What a gem! An amazing variety of sours, saisons, and american standards. Ever changing beer list is wonderfully complimented by the charming location and passionate staff.

The resident kitchen, Wandering Vine, is not to be missed - exceptional local eats.

Definitely grab some cans to go - you'll want to savor and share with friends.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary lunch at Whirligig Brewing yesterday. What impressed us was Chef Geoff's considerate care with my husband's soy allergy. He prepared a soup that was delicious and soy free. I had a wonderful grilled cheese & Kimchi sandwich. Absolutely mouthwatering! We highly recommend this gem of a restaurant when you are in St. Johnsbury.

Amazing food! The Japanese-style curry rice bowl was inspired, and the Cubano was one of the best interpretations I’ve ever had. Beer on point. Super fun vibe on the main drag in town. Lots of patio seating in the front and on the side. Incredibly welcoming staff even for us with young kids at a brewery. 😂

Excellent, unique beer. Obsessed with the kveik&wild with prosecco notes. Also the taco corn tortillas were so good & did not fall apart!

The beers here are so tasty and fresh and the food is cooked to order and absolutely delicious. Just looking for a local joint after a day of hiking and we found this little gem. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

An refreshing spin on a brew pub. There is a heavy Asian (Japanese mostly i believe) influence on both the food and drink menus. I had the Gohan (rice lager made on site) and some snow maiden sake at the suggestion of the bar keep. The beer was great, much different than my normal tastes but it was smooth and tasty. The pork belly and Kimchi rice bowl was phenomenal - perfect amount of spice (I tend to like spicier foods than most so beware if you are sensitive). I would definitely go back here more often if I did not live so far away.

The beers were great. The service was excellent and the food offerings we're delicious.

Do note that the beers here aren't your typical IPA centered offerings. They're mostly on the sour spectrum but not the punch you in the face sours. They are well balanced, very interesting and pair well with the food offerings. You can bring some home and they would go well with richer foods. Four thumbs up!

What a lovely spot! Our servers (both for beer and food) were a ton of fun and so generous in helping us find exactly what we wanted.

I met a group of friends here after work and we sat inside. And then more arrived so we moved outside and that was perfect. The beverage selection, the ample menu and the ease of service all made for a wonderful experience that lasted for several hours. I will return for sure.

My husband had Wild French Monk Beer. He really enjoyed it. He had 2. They didn’t offer any cocktails or kombucha. They did have wine and cider but you had to buy the entire bottle. They did offer coke products for $1 which was served in a nice glass made it seem fancy and looks good for the photos. They offered food but it was a different business within the brewery. It was small but also quaint. Employees very nice, friendly and talkative. It was clean and offered outdoor seating as well but it was very hot the day we were here. Definitely worth a stop.

We really enjoyed our visit. We met the owner who was super friendly and took his time explaining the beers, which were all excellent. (The experimental sour and IPA were some of the best beers I've had recently). The cheese plate was so good we ordered a second. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often!

Great spot! We got ALL the tacos and chips with guac. Everything is super fresh. The beers were all yummy. We especially liked the Simple Cherry. Most of all, the staff are beyond lovely and made the experience.

Awesome to see them finally open up and be able to go in and relax in the tap room while enjoying their fresh beer! I enjoyed the variety of beers, how clean they tasted, and being able to talk with the owner/brewer about what went into each beer. Definitely worth a visit to St. Johnsbury to try their beer and it sounds like soon they will be canning some of the beers!
