Village Greene

Historic Smithville at the Village Green is a lovely little town filled with shops, places to eat, and really nice people. There’s a carousel and also a train ride for the kids and you can feed the ducks from the benches near the lake. It’s better to go during the week if possible because there are far less people but there’s plenty of parking if you have to go on the weekend.

Visited here back in June when we were camping near the Jersey Shore. It was going to be a blah day. Misty, cloudy, not very good beach weather so we took the 40-45 minute trip from our camp site. What a cool place. There were about 50 shoppes (wide variety) and 5 or 6 places to eat. Most connected by cobblestone pathways and lined with historic buildings. We shopped till we dropped. We then sat down and grabbed a bite to eat at Lantern Light Tavern. Nice atmosphere, food was gastro pub style, very good sandwiches. There were also places to grab a quick bite on the run. There’s a carousel, train ride and paddle boats for the kids. All in all we had a very nice time. Basically spent the whole day here.

A very quaint village of great shops and restaurants. Very family friendly with a train ride and carousel for all ages. Very clean with bathroom facilities throughout.

Quaint little village, a must see especially during the holiday season. This was my first visit here and I was impressed. There is a little something for everyone here. Candy stores, yummy bakeries, gifts for pets, places to eat, some really unique shops that were pretty crowded and hard to shop in. Some had to be skipped over but I'll get them next time!
There is a talking Christmas tree in the center square after you cross over the bridge and an open air train ride for kids and adults.
And of course, you cannot miss the musical trees on the water light show which starts at 5:30!
There is plenty of free parking for this village. In the village itself, to the left of it there is a large lot, and also directly across the street.

It’s cute, the kids love it. Definitely can use some refreshing a.k.a. TLC. Yet delivers that “jersey vibe”.

Went to Village Green with my mother, to see the collection of shops. There's quite a variety to pick from from restaurants to little knick-knacks. Weather you're a local person or just traveling. You should definitely check this place out. Beautiful Lakeside View. The Merry-Go-Round and train for the kids. Remote control race cars remote control boats paddle boats it's got it all. Even the wildlife is extremely friendly. 100% recommend this place it's like taking a step in a time machine back in the twenties

Great shops, historical shopping villiage. Great natural surroundings. Outdoor and indoor eateries. Great way to spend the afternoon. They also have some activities for children. Numerous festivals thru out the year. My favorite is the Italian festival and renaissance festival. Great Halloween activities and a Must at Christmas.

I have been visiting Smithville for fifty years. It is a great place to stroll around. I miss the old general store and I seriously miss the cigar shop. Give it a try.

Always super clean. The roosters and ducks are v photogenic. Quaint little shops are always fun to visit. The Christmas light show is always fun to watch, so definitely a place to visit in the winter.

Support small businesses! This place has a very cute look to it. It looks like a small village of local residences. I can't recall all the shops but there is a nice variety. I don't think we saw any places selling the same items. Each catered to a specific item or theme for example the candy store, jerky store, Irish store, pet store, and so on. Not only stores but there's even a small family arcade and other games for kids to play. A Christmas tree with a train next to it that I assume everyone can take a short ride in. Along with a carousel which was only 2 bucks a ride.
We drove about 2 hours to check out the stores but also the lights on the water lit up to the Christmas music playing that gave you a very festive feeling.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE visit Smithville, NJ if you're in the area. These quaint shops and the walkabout were wonderful. We had lovely time.

My family loves this place. We visit several times a year. There are a lot of cute little shops, good food, and great wine. The place is beautiful and makes for a great place to take friends and family from out of state. This place has become a family tradition every year and will continue to be one for many years to come.

Actually, this is for the Smithville Inn. We celebrated a family gathering in the MOSS MILL ROOM of the Historic Inn. We had an excellent meal with fantastic service. There were 17 of us, and the room was perfect for our private celebration. The staff was highly attentive and very personable. Our meals were outstanding, and the Chicken Pot Pies were a special treat. While eating the Pie, one discovers a Dumpling inside! A special surprise. All meals were served hot, and the steam continued throughout eating the Corn Chowder of the Day and the Chicken Pot Pie. Our guests also enjoyed the Flat Iron Steak and the Salmon. This was a memorable day, with the Icing on the cake at the Smithville Inn!

Smithville is a wonderful place to walk around, many choices to eat and drink and shop. Free parking, wine tasting at Tomasello, chocolate covered strawberries, pizza. Love the soap store! Pets are welcome! I like to go during the holidays - it's decorated and lit well. They usually have wood fire pits and you can make s'mores (small fee). Oh, and the train ride.... Nice.

You can walk around and visit all of the little shops but I'm afraid that if you are handicapped you won't be able to make it into most of the stores. Some are even with the ground but a lot have steps (if you're in a wheelchair) this would be difficult.

Who doesn't love a little village type place with the best food and little shops around. Even has a winery! We were just sitting in the gazebo and saw a car show pass by! Just always a great place to go!

Quaint place to walk and shop... Holiday lights are great this time of year... weekend car shows and other events...stuff for everyone

I absolutely love it here and today was such a beautiful day to spend it here walking around, shopping, eating enjoying this lovely weather!
