It's a small, intimate place. You probably aren't going to be able to do a 10+ top table, but for an intimate breakfast for two or three, fantastic.
I loved the pancakes! I make my own pancakes from scratch and theirs are better. Much better. I got the cinnamon bun pancakes and my family was asking me for bites. I'm glad I got the three stack.
The waitresses were full of life and hilarious. I enjoyed their company.
If I ever find myself in Atlantic City again, I'd love to visit again to study their pancake making secrets.

Enjoyed eating here. Everything tasted superb. Food came quickly and friendly service. Definitely coming back soon.

Haven’t been in for a while just visited this past Saturday. Food is great as always. I wish they would bring back their salted caramel bread pudding back , such a good dessert to have.

Essl's is always a really good place to get a delicious breakfast or lunch. Staff is excellent.

We visit Essl’s every year and the service, the food, the staff never disappoints. We love it here and as long as they are open we will always return. Love the conversations with “Dad” he is the best!

We just had our wedding catered by them and I can’t brag enough how fresh and amazing the food was!! It was so delicious the guests were raving about it days after too! The professional relationship we had with Bob organizing everything leading up to the event was great, he was always eager to answer any of our questions or concerns. I couldn’t recommend them enough! 💜

When you get there it looks like a hole in the wall, but once you step inside you're greeted by wonderfully welcoming staff. I wish i remember the names of the ladies who served us because of just how unbelievably pleasant they were. Treated us like family the moment we walked in. And the food on top of the amazing service? Oh my goodness this place is a 10/10 everyone in our group loved every single bite, we even talked about how much we loved the place throughout our hour long drive home. Thank you Essl for the hospitality and food that tastes like mama's cooking.

Hey ya'll this place is a best kept secret -a quaint family owned restaurant the food here is the Shigetty Bomb especially their lamb chops (they are to die for) the staff is very friendly ambience is nice and the prices are very reasonable i will most definitely visit again very soon!

I had the bananas foster French toast. It was delish i was very full. It was fresh and so very comforting.

Essl’s Dugout is an absolute gem. The location is cozy and the food is phenomenal. The new owners that took over Bob & Cary are so welcoming and genuinely love the business they’re in. They’ve expanded Essl’s brick and mortar to include a food truck and catering options. The food truck grub is just as outstanding as the restaurant. If you’re in for breakfast you can’t go wrong with a Messl a giant delicious breakfast sandwich that has everything you could possibly want on one roll. If spot the food truck out make sure you get the Smoked Brisket & Queso over French Fries, you will not regret it!
